MLB 2015 - APRIL

Dolfan in NYC

Recommended Posts

He dragged the Yanks to the WS in 2009

In 2012 he came back in Sept and hit a couple of HRs down the stretch but was very mediocre. It just stood out because the rest of the team was doing its damnedest to not hit.

After that - his body started breaking down.

The year off - at least early on - looks like it was the best thing that could have happened for him

what's funny is that he is going to end up with eligibility at both 1B and 3B (along with a DH/UTL spot)

So he might end up being more valuable this year than a few years ago

Shane Greene gives up 1 run in 7 today to see his ERA skyrocket all the way to 0.39. Yoenis with a grand slam. Ho hum, another Tigers blowout. I could get used to this. :)

Mike Redmond is on the hot seat per reports (though denied by Marlins officials which really means he is on it)

I think that is our first official hot seat of the year

Oh look, it's the same joke again that wasn't funny the last 5 quadrillion times it was made.

Redmond needs to figure shit out quick.  Bobby Valentine's probably slowly circling the stadium and pumping his fist with every opponent's hit.

Yes, because the Cubs haven't won in a long time joke this thread has been swimming with are fresh and original material.

Also, that wasn't a joke. If the team is really bad (which they might be) I wouldn't be remotely shocked if Stanton is in another uniform by the deadline.

Stanton is only making $6.5 this year and $9 million next year

He also has a full no-trade

Even if the Marlins totally changed their direction mid-season and revert back to the fun, mockable Marlins - they aren't trading Stanton

This is the franchise that traded away all 3 of there big free agent signings away a couple years ago within a year of making them. If the Marlins by the mid way point think there team is a mile off, this would technically be the right time to deal him. His value would never get any higher, and if he has a down year/bad injury, it could get significantly lower fast.
