Hoffman
So the Royals' current strategy is the opposite of 1985: complete blow-out in Game 6, and they'll save the evil umpiring for Game 7. I kind of like that. We'll see how it goes.

BobbyWhioux
Here's hoping Tim Hudson's attempt to turn back time goes better than Peavy's. [He'd be hard put to do worse]

pipGofern
It's amazing how many times we see the slide into first move cost a guy a single but they just still keep doing it.
elizium
At least the announcers called him on it. As a totally neutral fan, this has been just about the perfect game 7 so far.
hammerva
If the Giants win this game, I don't know how you can convince their fans that Sandoval isn't worth keeping for next year. Unless he is asking for A-Rod like money. I mean talk about clutch
The Man Known as Dan
I'm starting to think Bumgner is just a modified howitzer.
piranesi
DAMMIT. I was rooting for the Royals but I don't want to root against Bumgarner at this point.

piranesi
In terms of innings pitched in one WS, (21) is there a modern equivalent to compare this to? I'm looking at Baseball encyclopedia, but everyone on that list is from like 1903 and shit (44 innings!!!!)
Niners Fan in CT
I imagine if Cain is running instead of Gordon on that play we're looking at a tie game. Great game.

Beech27
Well, fuck. Literally the best possible post season record without winning it all, and by far, the best season I've ever seen. Could be another 30 years. Who knows. So I'll remember this more fondly soon, and I really should. But for now, it's a letdown. Guthrie should never have started the 4th, and fuck, if Alex had ran hard out of the box he could have scored there. Maybe that's delusional, but it'd have been better odds than counting on Bumgarner giving up another hit. Even he scores 25% of the time, who thinks Perez is getting a hit that often? However, I can't really nitpick individual moments when one guy wins 3 games. Historic, and I don't know that there's ever been anything like it. But it's a little disappointing to see your team reduced to the "other guys" in the highlight package, or the answer to a trivia question, like the best Jazz team ever being immortalized as the guys Jordan hits the jumper against. Oh well. I'll feel better tomorrow, better than that in a week, and stoked for next season in a month. And this was all still pretty great.
