NCAA Women’s Volleyball starts today! Fantastic watch when one of the games is held at a volleyball school — Nebraska, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Texas, etc. But Nebraska is at another level of fandom. Bucket list for me is a trip to Lincoln to see the Huskers.

This is a sad post, Sir Chris Hoy, 6 time cycling Olympic champion for Team Great Britain has announced he has terminal cancer. Hoy knew it was terminal a year ago. The guy is a legend. Tragic news.

For the first time in the 55 year history of the NCAA Water Polo championships, no team from the east coast had ever made the final four.

That streak is finally over.

YOUR FORDHAM RAMS are 32-0 and are in the Final 4!

A military helicopter had a mid air collision with an American Airlines jet near Washington, DC, where it appears everyone on board has died.

Among the victims are 4 members of US Skating... 2 skaters and 2 coaches. They were returning home after competing in the US Nationals at Wichita.

One of the guys at work tonight came in late because he went to see the Globe Trotters play here tonight at the famed “fake Baltimore” Harford Commuity Collge in Bel Air, past home to NXT shows.

This led to me explaining how the Globies once had their own Saturday Morning cartoon AND guest starred with both Scooby Doo and the Castaways on Gilligian’s Island.

Also one of my favorite cartoon openings, even if the song is not Sweet Georgia Brown.

So, the biggest college tournament in March is happening next weekend. No, I'm not talking about that rinky dink March Madness shindig.. I'm talking something way more important.. the COLLEGIATE CURLING CHAMPIONSHIP.

Who ya got? I'm rooting for Navy myself, but rumor has it they'll be disqualified for illegal practices when they swab the decks...

Every horse that participated is a direct descendant of Secretariat.

I hesitate to put it in the Olympics thread because it doesn't deserve the oxygen of credibility, but evidently someone is proposing an "Enhanced Games" for 2026, where steroid use is encouraged. If you don't correctly guess where they're held on the first try, you have to go there and help everyone with their injections.

No word on how many tendon and ligament surgeons will be on standby for all the inevitable injuries.

I have so many questions:

Why would a betting site offer bets on a track and field race?

Why would someone make a parlay based off an athlete LOSING a race?

Why would someone think it's a good plan to heckle someone in an attempt to lose a race and win your parlay..

And finally, why would you give yourself the nickname of "the track and field bully".. and POST a video of you heckling the athlete, and boasting it helped you hit your parlay..

The Roller Derby World Cup is less than a month away, there's going to be 48 teams and I'm coaching one of them! This will be the third time I coach Greece in the World Cup, while we'll never compete for a medal we're looking to come out of our bouts with a winning record. The World Cup is going to be in Innsbruck Austria, which means lodging is expensive:/ Not sure if this is allowed here but if anyone wants to help out the team by buying some merch the link is below.

Joey Chestnut has been banned from the 2024 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest.

He was banned for taking an endorsement deal with Impossible Foods.  He'd won 16 of the last 17 contest, including the last 8 straight, and has the competition's record at 75.

Our long national nightmare is over...

Lia Thomas will have her swimming records and titles stripped by the University of Pennsylvania.

Penn is doing this under an agreement with the current Presidential administration.

That's as far as I'll go with it because I don't want a visit from the FBI

That's really awesome!  A friend of mine is on the Korean team, so I'm super excited for her.  Hopefully Greece does well too!
