JUNE WRESTLING DISCUSSION

Recommended Posts

I've heard the Hardyz, nWo and Hardcore Holly's music used in porn. Not cool

The Hardyz and the Hardcore Holly themes are actually generic, royalty-free music that companies can use. It'll pop up everywhere and the Holly theme is all over the male-based automotive shows and Spike TV.

Inspired by the "theme in your head" discussion, when I was leaving work this morning I turned on

and started blasting it through my car stereo.  I pulled up to the stop sign next to the mattress store where they're repainting, got a double take from one of the painters, and he STARTED DANCING!

I love this town sometimes.

I'm glad they clarified those are the post-1993 versions of the NWA Southern heavyweight and tag team titles.  Does this mean there's some confused promoter out there who's lost track of time and books title defenses of the pre-1993 championships?

Paul Orndorff's late 95 theme was a good one too:

In typical WCW fashion, they removed the lyrics and recycled it for The Maestro.

This theme is THE BEST.

I was watching a '95 Nitro where Disco Inferno wrestled Orndorff a few months ago. The match itself was a fun little TV match as I recall, but it took me about twenty minutes to get to it because I kept re-winding to play Disco's music followed by Orndorff's music.

Tacky, ridiculous - that theme is so pro wrestling in a great way.

I was a TV production major in college and we had access to public usage music. There was nothing quite like hearing a WCW guy's music and being able to identify it as something like "Oh, that's RDJV Number 14 on CD Number Seven!"

From the Observer, as cut-and-pasted in another forum:

"The problem is that Bryan’s rehabilitation of his right arm is going slower than anticipated. One person said that not only is he not makings gains, but he’s actually losing strength in the arm while doing rehab, which is concerning. Bryan was in Indianapolis for Raw and backstage, his situation was the most talked about thing among those in power. He was sent back to Pittsburgh to see Dr. Joseph Maroon, who did his neck surgery, to see what was wrong. Bryan will return on the 6/9 Raw for another confrontation with Stephanie.

Because of that, there was no certainty and they created the Money in the Bank backup plan because they didn’t want to do a PPV without the world title at stake. The idea is Payback had it at stake in the angle.

Nothing is definite. There is a feeling, knowing Bryan’s wanting to be in the thick of things and mental toughness, that even if it’s not the right thing for him, that he’ll wrestle on 6/29. There is tremendous real life pressure being put on him right now to be ready, whether direct or just implied.

As of right now, if Bryan doesn’t work, they will do a ladder match for the title. They are considering a second ladder match where the winner would have the briefcase, but right now they are going with the idea Bryan vs. Kane will headline."
