Death From Above
I was going to post this great moment in hockey history whether he signed in Edmonton or not, but let's all pause to remember this great moment in humor instead of self deprication: RAWR
mco543
I love that Jokinen looks like Sho Nuff from The Last Dragon in a hockey helmet in that illustration. If you guys haven't you need to check HFBoards and checkout the Jokinen dollhouse thread.
Jiji
The best thread. That and turkey girl. Somewhat topical:
Dewar
Jokinen was still a solid third line center for the Jets last season. Of course, the year before, he was a massive load of crap, and I wanted him traded for a dollar. Nashville better hope he's more like last year than two years ago. Death From Above
Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun 1m Isles sign Kulemin 4 yrs/$16.75 M and Grabovski 4 yrs / $20 M All thing considered that's completely reasonable, really. Garth Snow did something reasonable. Okay.
Death From Above
Also the Sharks signed John Scott for some unfathomable reason.
Jiji
Garth Snow had a great year the season before last, was awful last season, and between the draft, getting Halak at a decent rate, and today's moves it seems there is a pattern developing. Kulemin's price is excessive but whatevs. It's the Islanders, they're always closer to the floor than the ceiling. Rick Jeanneret has throat cancer and has a 85% chance of recovery. Here's hoping. Death From Above
Roenick lost his shit on twitter over what Grabovski got but in the context of the money being thrown around I don't really see how it's particularly out there. Roenick hasn't lost his shit in a few days so maybe it was just like a pressure release thing.
mco543
I'm pretty sure it's because Grabovski is a foreigner and not American or Canadian. Roenick is also an idiot.
Death From Above
I am going to keep bringing this up. But Roenick went on air on Hockey Central on Sportsnet when Ovechkin was just coming out of that slump last year and said he'd trade Ovechkin for Rick Nash one for one. I think the pattern is that he's just winging it and some things fall into his lap. Sometimes they're good, sometimes they're bad. He just kinda gets left with what's available and who is willing to play for the Islanders.
Charlie M.
The Preds seem to think any big ugly looking centre can play with James Neal. Radim Vrbata signs with Benning's Canucks. 2 years $10 million.
Jiji
Good deal and he should do wonders with the Sedins. I think this means bye bye Burrows, as it's silly to pay a third liner that kind of cash (don't tell MacT though). (I know it's only) Botchford suggested that the Sedins could jet to Modo if they have another off year. Interesting, but I think Vrbata will help a lot. 9th place here we come! caley
Things are tough in Nashville. First they lose Mike Fisher for 4-6 months after rupturing his ACL during training. Then they sign Anton Volchenkov. Sorry Perds.

Big Z
Figures the Hawks manage to lock up the only 2 players on their team I wouldn't oppose Tallon overpaying for. So, time for a Patrick Sharp for Barkov trade?
mco543
Well one way or another Sharp is certainly coming. I'd be stunned if he doesn't.
