Feeling Poptimistic

Recommended Posts

After watching Beverly Hills Cop recently this song has become a bit of a running joke between my wife and I.

We live in strange times.

I suppose people thought the same thing when they saw Captain Lou in a Cyndi Lauper video though.

Yeah - Closer is what is making me realize I might be really late to the Tegan & Sara bandwagon

I like the original, but the Fatboy Slim remix of Brimful of Asha seemed like the soundtrack to an entire year.

So as soon as I heard the opening synth line in that Gina G song, I knew that I would love the song dearly and then come to hate it.  (I don't, yet, but it's just a matter of time...)

I've had almost 20 years with it and that time has yet to come

We are kinda blurring genres here but the fact that over the course of two threads none of us have posted this yet is kinda a shame

One Direction doing their best Rolling Stones/The Who/power pop tribute--and doing a good job.

This is what I heard on the radio the other day

I was like "Hey - I like this. I wonder who sings it." And then they said One Direction and I was all "SON OF A..."

I see you and raise a track off of this year's album.

Since I haven't seen Despicable Me 2 yet - I didn't know this song existed until yesterday when William Regal tweeted a video of a girl dancing to it.

Beyonce shut it down; at least commercially and media-wise.  It needs a mention in here just for historical purposes if nothing else.

I think I need  to check out Sky Ferreira's album.  I randomly listened to a few tracks a couple of weeks ago, and I liked most of what I heard.  Reminds me: I wish Lykke Li would drop something new.

Don't know how late I am to the party on this, but XM 15 has been playing the hell out of this for the past week or so.

So in driving around in GTA V - I basically spending my time listening to nothing but the Pop Station.

I really should just post all of the songs but here is my current obsession
