Pete Posted January 22, 2019 Author Posted January 22, 2019 One day you're up and the next day you're downYou can't face the world with your head to the groundThe grass is always greener on the other side, they saySo don't worry, boys, life will be sweet some day Oh, oh, oh, ohOh, oh, oh, oh We made enough mistakesBut you know we got what it takes Oh, we ain't got nothin' yetNo, we ain't got nothin' yet Nothin' can hold us and nothin' can keep us downAnd someday our names will be spread all over townWe can get in while the getting is goodSo make it on your own, yeah, you know that you could Oh, oh, oh, ohOh, oh, oh, oh We got to make the break'Cause we got too much at stake Oh, we ain't got nothin' yetNo, we ain't got nothin' yet We made enough mistakesBut you know we got what it takes Oh, we ain't got nothin' yetNo, we ain't got nothin' yet
Robert C Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Billy Joe Shaver's classic lament on love lost and the rising price of fortified wine.
Execproducer Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 I am the little red rooster Too lazy to crow for day I am the little red rooster Too lazy to crow for day Keep everything in the farm yard upset in every way The dogs begin to bark and hounds begin to howl Dogs begin to bark and hounds begin to howl Watch out strange cat people Little red rooster's on the prowl If you see my little red rooster Please drive him home If you see my little red rooster Please drive him home Ain't had no peace in the farm yard Since my little red rooster's been gone
J.H. Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 It plays once on Pandora a few days back and now it won't leave my brain! James
Contentious C Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Goddamnit Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, why did you have to close Captain Marvel's big action sequence with a Hole song? I hate Courtney Love!
Pete Posted March 19, 2019 Author Posted March 19, 2019 I saw you standing hand in hand But now you come to me the solitary man And I know what it is that makes us live Such ordinary lives The where to go, the who to see No one could sympathize The smile has left your eyes The smile has left your eyes And I've become a rolling stone I don't know where to go or what to call my own But I can see that black horizon glooming Ever close to view It's over now it's not my fault See how this feels for you The smile has left your eyes The smile has left your eyes I never thought I'd see you Standing there with him So don't come crawling back to me I saw you standing hand in hand But now you come to me the solitary man And I know what it is that makes us live Such ordinary lives The where to go, the who to see No one could sympathize The smile has left your eyes Now it's too late you realized Now there's now one can sympathize Now that the smile had left your eyes Now it's too late you realized Now there's now one can sympathize Now it's too late you realized Now that the smile has left your eyes The smile has left your eyes

J.H. Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Its not Tuesday but this has been stuck in my head SINCE Tuesday. Let me explain... Keeping an 11 month old engaged is tricky as the littlest distraction will make Princess Sandy drop what she is doing to focus on a new distraction. The ONLY thingt that she never gets distracted from is Fraggle Rock (which I'm grateful for being on HBO through my Amazon Fire TV). So there we were watching season 2 of fraggle Rock when we get the "the Rumble Bug Hum" and suddenly Sandy is bopping up and down on my knee giggling. When the song ends she looks up at me has this look like "Where is the song? I WANT THE SONG BACK!!". So I'm good daddy and played it again for her... and again... again and again and again... this went on for 45 minutes until she finally fell asleep on my lap. So that is the story of how "the Rumble Bug Hum" has plagued me for the last 3 days. Sandy has since discovered "One & One (I'm The One That Won)" which is actually my personal favorite Red song (I think they give all the best songs to Red) Anyway, here you are you bastards! James

Pete Posted May 21, 2019 Author Posted May 21, 2019 Saturday night I was downtown Working for the FBI Sittin' in a nest of bad men Whiskey bottles piling high Bootlegging boozer on the west side Full of people who are doing wrong Just about to call up the DA man When I heard this woman sing a song A pair of 45's made me open my eyes My temperature started to rise She was a long cool woman in a black dress Just-a 5'9, beautiful, tall With just one look I was a bad mess 'Cause that long cool woman had it all I saw her heading to the table Like a tall walking big black cat When Charlie said I hope that you're able boy 'Cause I'm telling you she knows where it's at Then suddenly we heard the sirens And everybody started to run A-jumping out of doors and tables When I heard somebody shootin' a gun Well the DA was pumping my left hand And a-she was a-holding my right Well I told her don't get scared 'Cause you're gonna be spared I've gotta be forgivin' if I wanna spend my living With a long cool woman in a black dress Just a 5'9 beautiful tall Yeah, with just one look I was a bad mess 'Cause that long cool woman had it all Had it all Had it all
Robert C Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Woke up with this in my head every day for the last week. Blaze Foley. For when Townes van Zandt is not Townes van Zandty enough for you and you need something even Townes van Zandtier.
J.H. Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 It is amazing how much I don't like Kamen Rider Zi-O but damn if "OVER Quartzzer" isn't catchy as fuck James
odessasteps Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 After watching a bunch of Continental tonight, this is stuck in my head.
Pete Posted June 18, 2019 Author Posted June 18, 2019 Damn dust. It's a little bit funny this feeling inside I'm not one of those who can easily hide, I don't have much money but boy if I did I'd buy a big house where we both could live If I was a sculptor, but then again no Or a man who makes potions in a traveling show Oh I know it's not much but it's the best I can do My gift is my song And this one's for you And you can tell everybody this is your song It may be quite simple but now that it's done I hope you don't mind I hope you don't mind That I put down in words How wonderful life is while you're in the world I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross But the sun's been quite kind While I wrote this song It's for people like you that Keep it turned on So excuse me forgetting But these things I do You see I've forgotten If they're green or they're blue Anyway, the thing is, what I really mean Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen And you can tell everybody this is your song It may be quite simple but Now that it's done I hope you don't mind I hope you don't mind That I put down in words How wonderful life is while you're in the world I hope you don't mind I hope you don't mind That I put down in words How wonderful life is while you're in the world
J.H. Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 I may have been watching way way too much Fraggle Rock with Princess Sandy because the final episode just makes me cry, especially the last song and version of the closing theme. Having Doc deliver the final "Down at Fraggle Rock" was so damn apropos! James
Pete Posted June 25, 2019 Author Posted June 25, 2019 Standing in the dock at Southampton Trying to get to Holland or France The man in the mac said You've got to go back You know they didn't even give us a chance Christ you know it ain't easy You know how hard it can be The way things are going They're going to crucify me Finally made the plane into Paris Honeymooning down by the Seine Peter Brown call to say You can make it O.K. You can get married in Gibraltar near Spain Christ you know it ain't easy You know how hard it can be The way things are going They're going to crucify me Drove from Paris to the Amsterdam Hilton Talking in our beds for a week The newspapers said Say what're you doing in bed I said we're only trying to get us some peace Christ you know it ain't easy You know how hard it can be The way things are going They're going to crucify me Saving up your money for a rainy day Giving all your clothes to charity Last night the wife said Oh boy when you're dead You don't take nothing with you but your soul, think Made a lightning trip to Vienna Eating chocolate cake in a bag The newspapers said She's gone to his head They look just like two gurus in drag Christ you know it ain't easy You know how hard it can be The way things are going They're going to crucify me Caught the early plane back to London Fifty acorns tied in a sack The men from the press Said we wish you success It's good to have the both of you back Christ you know it ain't easy You know how hard it can be The way things are going They're going to crucify me The way things are going They're going to crucify me 1
OSJ Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 (edited) In the East the wind is blowing all the boats across the sea, And their sails, they fill the morning, and their cries ring out to me. Oh the more it changes, well, well the more it stays the same, And the hand just rearranges all the players in the game. Oh, I had a dream:. It seemed I stood alone, And the veil of the ages, it goes sinking from my eyes like a stone. A king shall fall and put to death by the English Parliament shall be, Fire and flame to London come in the year of six and twenty-three. An emperor of France shall rise who shall be born near Italy. His rule shall cost his empire dear, Napoleron, his name shall be. Chorus: Man, man, your time is sand, your ways are leaves upon the sea. I am the eyes of Nostradamus, all your ways are known to me. And from Castile shall Franco come and the government driven out shall be. An English king seeks divorce and from his throne cast down is he. And one named Histler shall become captain of greater Germany. No law does this man observe, and bloody his rise and fall shall be. (Chorus) In the new lands of America, three brothers now shall come to power. Two alone are born to rule, but all must die before their hour. And two great men, yet brothers not, shall make the North united stand; Their power will deceive the throne and fear possess the Eastern lands. And three leagues from the gates of Rome, a pope named Paul is doomed to die. A great wall that divides a city, at this time is cast aside. And these are the signs I bring to you to show you when your time is nigh, (2× Chorus) Edited June 25, 2019 by OSJ
OSJ Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 1 hour ago, Pete said: Certainly worse things that one can have stuck in their head than the Beatles and Al Stewart...
