It's a gross story, don't stare too deeply into the abyss or it will stare back.

Also be adults and don't make us ban you.

As the founder of this board may have said regarding this whole thing..

"In this match, Janel Grant will play Ricky Morton, and the Department of Justice will play Robert Gibson"

Apparently Missy Hyatt has contacted Grant's team about an incident that occurred with Vince.  I mean looking back:

  1. Hire Missy Hyatt
  2. Shoot some Missy talk show segments
  3. ???
  4. Fire Missy Hyatt

...should have figured there was fire to that smoke.

I saw some clickbait tweets about that over the weekend. Vince trying to get something going with 1987 Hyatt seems like a “is water wet” type of thing.

They can always hide behind the "well, the test segments we shot just weren't that good..." I mean that's always been the reason AFAIK why she wasn't hired.

However, if there was an incident not related to that, then yeah obviously not good news.

I do feel bad for Missy.. it seemed like everyone wanted to rib on her (punching down). Remember Gary Hart saying the bookers asked the Great Muta to mist her every night for weeks because she asked them not to mist her one time because she had a fur coat

I had always heard the Missy's Manor segments were not good. I think the only one I've heard lately is the one with Liz and Randy, which is not great, but I don't know if that's her fault or the material or Savage or a combination of all the above.

I was on Facebook yesterday and one of the random posts from unfollowed accounts was something saying Missy and JR were an item for a few years after a divorce, and her claiming "I rocked his world, and he rocked my world". Like, what the fuck. Seriously? That just seems... odd. Is it true?

And I mean no disrespect if it is true. If they were happy together then great. It just is an unexpected pairing, and something that reads like clickbait.

I don't know if Missy really fit what WWF was trying to do at the time. Plus, they were not really signing "bombshell" types in the last 80s. I mean Madusa didn't come in until 93 after they had already retired the women's title the first time. She had been in the business like 10 years by that point. And the one woman on the roster that did fit society's norms at the time for beauty was Bambi like and demure. Add in that Leroy McGuirk's daughter is out there wearing tuxedos. The WWF's presentation of women and how Missy had been presented through her career were very far apart.

That's why there might be the feeling of "where there is smoke, there is fire."

The version I saw was that it was after JR’s wife Jan passed away.

Like, in the last couple years?

Sometime after 2017. I didn’t read any of the stories to see if they specified.

Babyface Missy in 1987 would have been there with Liz as a comparison. It is interesting that VKM never really had a Southern style valet until Sherri Martel and she’s different, because she’s also “a worker and one of the boys,” as opposed to the Sunshine/Precious/Missy type. Maybe Vince thought it was too “southern rasslin”?

Okay now if it was Bell's Palsy JR and Latter-Day Missy then we got a truly weird combination. Yet, I can see two people with so much shared history and painful losses finding comfort in one another. It makes a whole lot more sense than doesn't.

Too rasslin but also women were portrayed as either super innocent or loud and brash. Very little in between. A natural heel like Wendi Richter tried to do something different and as a babyface, and it didn't work.

I could have seen them trying to do something with a Sunshine just cause she is more girl next door-ish. Otherwise, there weren't too many women around then who fit the mold of what WWF would have been looking for in terms of valets or female wrestlers.

It’s obvious when watching they were test runs, Missy comes across as heelish when she’s supposed to be a face and kind of puts sympathy on Bobby Heenan when she’s makes fun of his neck brace.

Also, babyface hosted interview segments were never that good, they’re perfect vehicles for heels.

I haven’t read the story, just the headline, but Vince’s access to the WWE HQ gym has apparently been cut off.  In his own mind, this is probably the worst punishment he’s faced for this so far.  GOD DAMMIT PAL IT’S BAD ENOUGH YOU TOOK MY JOB!  NOW YOU WANT TO TAKE MY GAINS?”

While his lawyers say otherwise, Linda is out here floating rumors that Vince is in poor health.  Motherfucker is going on trial and is just playing the hits.

He’s going to be on an oxygen tank like the gangsters at the end of Casino.
