Jimmy Butler is playing out of his fucking mind and might singlehandedly push Milwaukee to the brink.

I love it when Jimmy Butler has moments like this and proves he's a special player to every team that said he was a problem.

Jimmy Butler is the ultimate “has that dawg in him” dude and is a national treasure. Damn it, how the hell is he not playing in Philly?

There's a thing called "The Process", you see...

I've been watching Jimmy since he got drafted and I don't think Jimmy Butler has ever wanted to be The Guy.  When he says "I just want to win" he means it. I don't think he cares if he's the second or third best player on the team. I've said it since the Bulls days, Jimmy could be the best second option in the league, but you have to outplay him to be first. You can't just walk through practice and feel entitled to clutch possessions. And the list of guys who are willing to do that is very very very small. It's why the T-Wolves didn't work and it's why the only guy he still talks about fondly from Philly is Joel Embiid and not... the other guy who was there.

This Heat team is special because they all buy into it. Hard work and who ever is ballin' gets the ball. No free lunches.

In my alternate reality Derrick Rose never tears his ACL and we're talkiing about him and Jimmy the way people talk about Steph and Klay.

I too share this alternate reality 😞 Man, what could have been...

As a Bulls fan, it feels like we still haven't really recovered since Rose came down off the jumper in the playoffs. Last year they were really fun to watch until everyone started dropping like flies.

I hate the Bulls and even I am sad about what we lost when Rose shredded his knee. He was special.

Jimmy is fascinating because he's not quite good enough to be the every day top five player in the NBA type, but he's good enough that on occasion, especially in big playoff games, he occasionally can be that guy for a night or two.

His first and fourth quarters last night were absurd. He scored 22 of his team's first 26 points, then turned back into Superman for the stretch run.

Man, Cleveland, what a disappointment. But they're young. Hopefully it means Mobley and Allen double down on the work during the off-season and learn from this. They desperately need a bench, too.

And it doesn't matter whether Miami closes out or by some miracle the Bucks recover, they'll have their hands full with the Knicks.

I turn off *another* game to play Metroid Prime and this is what happens.  Jeezus!

Doesn't help that Giannis missed THIRTEEN FTs.  2021 Finals Game 6 in reverse.

Poor Goran Dragic.

I've watched this like a thousand times already.  Some thoughts:

1) I have no idea what Giannis is doing.  First he tries to draw a foul(!) with 5 seconds left in a OT playoff game, you're not going to get a foul there. PLUS, he's shot horrifically from the stripe in this game too! Then he starts complaining before slowly getting up and realizing he's out of the play.

2) The Heat double Khris, who's the one who has been a killer the entire series.  Thank god he didn't put a shot up because that 100% would have gone in and he'd probably been fouled.

3) Jrue wants a 3 so badly but there's no time for it and ends up just standing still.  Which... par for the course on this series.

4) Allen's got the ball at sub 2 seconds and is like... fuck it, it's 4 on 5.  I'm the guy!  (He is not.) So he tries to dribble in (!!) for a layup (!!!). I'm half surprised he didn't send it to Connaughton who was essentially alone under the basket, but Grayson is not that player. The Heat are more than happy to see him try the drive and essentially let him go.

5) The Bucks did all this with TWO (2) time outs left!  OMG.  That's completely inexcusable.  I get pushing the tempo, but your damned season is on the line! Stop and talk.

It's one of the most baffling things I've seen.  I'd say Budenholzer should be fired for it, but he did just get a huge extension, so... lol.  I'm a fan of the other team in this series, and *I'm* mad for Milwaukee fans.

Not that it matters too much, but if it wasn't for the idiotic playin, Miami would have been playing Boston, and Atlanta would have been playing the Bucks. . .
