For Great Justice Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 Subvert those expectations and have Mox steamroll Punk again this weekend. Do it. Let’s get weird. 11 2
The Green Meanie Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 That was a really entertaining episode. I'm slightly confused about the Andrade/Dark Order segment - Jose (attempted to) taze Preston, who did not react. Was he: 1) Supposed to react, but forgot or 2) Jose missed but they did the sound affect anyways or 3) Make it seem like Preston was tazed, but no sold it due to...strength? 2 1 3
Curt McGirt Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 I walked in on Danielson vs. Hager which was great. I was in the mood for some wrestling after a rotten week so seeing an Underdog Bryan match, hell yeah. W. Morrisey is gonna be a fun match against Wardlow one of these days. Punk makes me go "here's the blah-blah" but him in Chicago will always be perfect. The women's match worked to all their strengths and the four-way was fine too with the announcement of Wheeler vs. Garcia 2 making me lose it. In fact the entire card for All Out looks awesome. The main event... you know, I think Bob Fosse is an incredibly talented, genius performer. I just don't like to watch his shit. That match was an incredible performance that felt totally hollow at the same time. Gonna be plenty of great gifs however. 4

Actually sorta yeah. The really really good SSPs look like the guy doing the move somehow gets HIGHER than a standard splash, but I feel like even the best Matt Sydal SSP doesn't look as legit as the best Art Barr Frog Splash or even High Fly Flow.

I thought Jose was brandishing it to keep Vance from jumping in. As in, "Sit right there, or this is what you'll get." Edited September 1, 2022 by Dog 4
ChrisPBacon Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 CM Punk retaining and Claudio Castagnoli winning the Casino Ladder Match would be awesome, if only Claudio wasnt ROH champion. I Love how Punk is keeping us guessing on outcomes. Wrestling. MjF just has to be involved in the Casino match or the main event, right? There's money and eyes being left off the table. Please, no lights out and then he is standing in the ring pointing a cane to the sky as Tony Shiavone asks what he is doing here, before he threatens to urinate in the ring. I first envisioned a duo of MJF and Punk, because they share something that could bond them. Punk has an issue with certain routes AEW Is going that differs from MJF, but there is an opening to meet in the middle. However, maybe the Batman and Joker are not meant to join forces, ever. I just figured Punk was living long enough to see himself as the Villain. Wished there was some Starks-Hobbs hype tonight, i figure we will get it on Friday. Stokely Hathaway doing his best Clarence Mason impression, just has to lead to a legit Faction, surely? Id like it if he kept to Cargill, and potentially Swerve with Lee being torn on it. 3
dorfus malorfus Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 Not to continuously be like "this guy in wrestling reminds me of that guy from something else" but Andrade fawning over Ten tonight sounded just like the street toughs on Seinfeld admiring Kramer's armoire. 4 5

I thought the second beer was hitting me harder than I expected and was imagining a taser sound. 4

Curt McGirt Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 (edited) Yeah how do you no-sell a tazer? The SSP piledriver was the dumbest high spot in a show that was mostly made of awesome high spots. THAT right there is your gif of the night. But my favorite was probably Rush deciding to pull off a dive even though you just knew he was gonna stop himself and go into Ingobernables pose. EDIT: Thinking back, I was wrong. The best spot of the night was the finish of the women's tag. That was off the chain. Edited September 1, 2022 by Curt McGirt 1 2

Jiji Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 Loved pretty much everything but the Morrissey thing. What the fuck was that shit doing on a scramble to get under the trap door go home show to a ppv? Lmao. Feel like they could've leaned even more into Ospreay out doing Omega but that ruled anyway and I think while there may be some bigger drawing matches possible, Ospreay vs. Omega feels like the biggest deal in wrestling. I hope Ospreay settles in AEW longterm because then they've got most of their stars covered w the next generation. Ace Steel with the money promo for a main event ppv is not something I expected. He better not get any slack for dropping the f bomb in there. Don't love the build but this was a fun salvage job and it sure is different. Because of that and the talent it's compelling. 4 1

And yeah, that Morrissey segment was random as hell and not set up very well. You suddenly have the Wingmen out there for no reason, and then Morrissey shows up and flattens them. Felt really random. Like I'm wrestling as Sting against Hulk Hogan in WCW/NWO Revenge and Yuji Nagata comes out to do a run-in. Edited September 1, 2022 by TheVileOne 2 2

John from Cincinnati Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 (edited) I wanna see Ace give the Pacino speech from Any Given Sunday a try. Maybe drop in a clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose. Edited September 1, 2022 by John from Cincinnati 3 1 4
The Natural Posted September 1, 2022 Author Posted September 1, 2022 Second squash win over Punk by Moxley there. Also Making Friends 101. 4
The Green Meanie Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 Also gotta say I loved Jericho's WAR reference, I wonder if that's a sign for anything happening. 2

They’re probably pulling the trigger on Stokley’s stable at the PPV and wanted to have all the pieces introduced. I hope people give Morrissey a chance. He’s worked hard and done a lot of PEDs to improve as a wrestler. 6 5
Curt McGirt Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 ...and I just watched the Dark Side of Comedy about Dice. DEAN is gonna do a backflip over that 3
MKERyan Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 The real issue with the Wingmen/Morrissey segment was JD Drake being out there when they just did an angle on one of the YouTube shows where he said he was re-committing to The Workhorsemen 1 2
