caley Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 If only Foley hadn't objected to "Mason the Mutilator"! I can just hear Vince's pronounciation in my head: "MEWWWWWW-tee-lay-TORRRRRRRRR" 4

Ugh. Not sure NXT names are any worse than names in the 90's. Bron Breakker or.... Bastion Booger? Duke "The Dumpster" Droese? Thurman "Sparky Plugg? Puke? Chilly McFreeze (l forgot about him and laughing way too much at the name)? TL Hopper? Arachnaman? Val Venis (allegedly a riff on "my pal penis"), Actually, my vote for worst gimmick name of recent times is probably Shorty G. You missed the most obvious one. BRAKKUS "Ich komme von Deutschland!"
Curt McGirt Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 Ha, I remember that promo but not ever seeing him show up. 1

If you've got a gimmick name that's not immediately obvious how to pronounce, you've come up with a bad name. I can't be the only one who referred to him and fellow black trunks, slaphead Burch as Oney and Twoey, right? Marquis/Marquee/Marcus Corvon/Corvan/Cor Von likes this. 1
Curt McGirt Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 I looked him up and BRAKKUS was in the Brawl for All where Savio beat him up so bad he retired from the injuries later on. Forgot all about that, even though I'm sure they talked about it on Dark Side of the Ring and I probably even watched it at the time.
LoneWolf&Subs Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 I just saw an old clip of Muhammad Hassan. I completely forgot one of his big moves was a flatliner. The list of people that were assigned to that move in the WWE must be huge.
BrianS81177 Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 Wasn't Scott Steiner using it while he was there too? 1
HumanChessgame Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 The only thing I remember about Brakkus was him showing up in ECW and getting choked out by Taz. 1

At a house show me and a friend went to back in the day, Brakkus was in the 2nd match facing Billy Gunn (who was Rockabilly at the time). He had no idea how to work face and it took all of 1 minute for the crowd to turn on him and start cheering Billy. Brakkus won with some shitty looking powerbomb. It was only like a 6 minute match but it felt a lot longer
Infinit Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 William Regal's kid's name new is..... CHARLIE DEMPSEY WTF is wrong with this company??? 3 1
odessasteps Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 Disappointed Regals kid isnt named or Ernie Morcambe or Eric Wise …. 2

Infinit Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 But, as in the case of so many 2nd generation talents, why not take advantage of the lineage and history associated with the "family" name?? It just seems so stupid to me.

Doragon Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 WWE notes: WWE stock up to 55.00. Gonna need the upcoming Saudia Show to boost the stock upwards. WWE filed to trademark “Big Time Becks”. BTB for short. Malik Blade trained by D-von will debut on this weeks 205. Seems WWE is slowly turning 205 into a "Main Event" style show for NXT.
odessasteps Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 Its one thing in the old days where you could give a kid a new name until he was ready for a push. Cats out of the bad on that idea. 1

Unfortunately I was into high school already when Hook: the Movie came out and of course, being a twat I was like "NOOO. That's a BABY MOVIE. I'm A MAN!!!!!! I want boobs and and/or Jackie Chan ONLY!!!!" Which was dumb. But also means I have no nostalgic connection with it, and I don't think I ever did see it. Now, the device. Useful as fuck. For, like, almost grabbing things, but only if they're below you? Can't be beat. 2 1 8 1
