Also, Bret's something of a hypocrite for being a formula guy who calls people to task for relying on formulas. There's nothing wrong with being a formula guy, do what you've got to do to get through the night without getting hurt, but when most of the audience can call your comeback of manhattan drop / Russian legsweep / backbreaker / second rope elbow / Sharpshooter just as well as you can, you don't really have a leg to stand on to call out Ric Flair for always getting caught on the top rope.

Oh god yes. Mr. Five Moves of Doom hasn't a leg to stand on there.

Boy this is far back in the convo so my apologies if it's already been duly noted.

EDIT: Well, gawd, I didn't expect it to take up like five whole pages!

Anyway I'm shocked that Dr. Gore hasn't been used as a death match guy name yet. (Luther [or my favorite Engrish name, Dr. Looser] was a Hannibal Lecter gimmick though.) The movie Doctor Gore sucked but it had a cool censored video cover.

how many wrestling recruitment letters do you think Scott Steiner's son is up to by now? https://jaxstatesports.com/sports/football/roster/brock-rechsteiner/6204

I'm guessing that 6'2/225 could be dialed up a little in wrestling height/weight. A white wide receiver from Jacksonville State is probably gonna be looking for his next pursuit after wrestling. So, he can become the handsome member of his wrestling family if he wants to.

I mean, if he has a good combine, that's a prime candidate for a fan favorite possession receiver or slot guy. He could be every middle aged woman's favorite player if he's halfway decent. But yeah, wrestling will always be there for him if he wants to go that route. And the potential cousins tag team.

And I need to get to that junk store!

Fridays at 8am Central time and Saturdays at the same time

Ran by a retired couple. They go down  into Louisiana to buy abandoned storage lockers. Then haul the stuff back up into this part of MS.

She posts pics of what is up for sale Thursdays.

2 weeks ago I look see a n64,6 games(smash bros and mario party I know were in there)plus hookups and 4 controllers. AS IS 20 bucks. Plan was grab it and if the system worked sell it to a buddy that refurbushes consoles on the side.

Get there at 7am and there is already people waiting. Spot a dude at the door to the cottage she puts the non-tool non-hunting stuff in. He has on a Mario hat and Mario shirt. So I knew he was there for the system.

Every time he mentions it, I'm extremely jealous.

Father who is exploiting his son in unpaid (at first, now I don't know) unfunny promotion for Costco. I don't use TikTok either but saw a clickbaity YouTube about them and have had some of their stuff shared in the work group chat for roasting. The dad's a former indie wrestler. They're getting backlash so the timing is weird for AEW to feature them.

So I shouldnt mention my haul from friday?

She got overstocked so 25 cents each.

Dropped 4 or 5 bucks

Dark Angel season 1 Dvd

Hawaiii 5-0 new series season 1 dvd

Bones season 3 dvd

22 jump street blu

Last house on the left 74 MGM Blu -they also had the DVD with the giallo like cover. Left that

Plus a pile of other stuff.

Makes it worth getting up early on Fridays.

Store also has the Playboy with Dolly Parton on the cover, looks pretty beat and she wants 40. And some Playboy with Sally Field on the cover that is beat and she is asking 30.

Also same junk store one Saturday I got 12 of those early 90 WCW trading cards, all in ok shape. Plus a 1980 issue of some wrestling magazine for "make me an offer" she was happy with the 4 bucks I offered. Tossed the cards into top loaders and sold thhem 2 bucks each at the show that night. The mag got added to my collection.

Drawback is she will not hold anything for anyone. Will not call or text ya to tell you stuff you are looking for is in. Gotta be there at 7am to beat the crowd.

and/or cousins feud built on the premise that Bron "ripped off my dad" if Brock wants to wrestle, is athletic, and is also reasonably charismatic

I haven’t bothered to look at him - does he resemble Bron at all? Could they do a Patty Duke Show “they’re cousins, identical cousins” thing?

his headshot on the JSU site makes him look more like a Scott Steiner/Randy Orton mix

My buddy is an inveterate garage sale hound and he made the mistake of passing up an ENTIRE COLLECTION of Stag Magazine from olden times.

He's not much of a deer hunter, I take it.

He looks pretty normal and well adjusted being the son of Scott Steiner.

It’s easy to forget how fresh-faced Scott was when he first started, too.

Will Scotty's son be as innovative as him though?

Can he invent something as neat as 36p Splash? Something as stylish as a the rat-tail mullet? Be as an innovative mathematician?

Another Asian Cooger drinking party yesterday, a rooftop BBQ in Osaka's Shin Sekai neighbourhood with several Canadian wrestlers. My old buddy Salty the Seaman (and just after he left Seth Knight showed up), TKO Cody Smith, Riea Von Slasher, and Slave from Thrash Wrestling. Always great to catch up with Seth, and I very much enjoyed meeting Cody, Riea, and Nick. On the Japanese side there was Cooger (of course), Moriya from Fighting Ultimate Crazy Kings, and Hiroto Okubo whom I think of as a young boy but actually he's a 10-year veteran, and Popo-chan.

The BBQ was interrupted by a sudden torrential downpour, and we all got absolutely soaked to the skin before moving to an empty room in the building. It's a very Osaka thing to have buildings with multiple little bars and restaurants on every floor. We eventually went back upstairs once the rainstorm passed, and then ended up in Kathmandu cafe, a Nepalese restaurant where the staff all wear Dotonbori Pro shirts. (You may recall my stories from last year of drinking with the wrestlers from Nepal).

The other party-goers were all old friends, including Kenji (!) and it was straight up joyful to see everyone again. There were also two American teachers whom Cooger had recently befriended and they fit right in.

Cody and Riea both know my good friend Verne who is a stalwart presence on the Vancouver wrestling scene, so that gave us an easy connection. I sent the picture of me with Slave to my small chat group of wrestling friends and one of them IMMEDIATELY typed "Slave!" and another later said that he's known Nick for years. Connecting with people through wrestling is absolutely one of my favorite things.

0nmZ3mO.jpeg

I was wearing my Stan Hansen t-shirt, Slave was wearing Macho man, Salty was wearing a very cool Killer Khan t-shirt that he got years ago at Khan's restaurant, Moriya had Bruiser Brody, and another guy had Hayabusa. Tons of Cooger t-shirts and also several Salty t-shirts. Riea had a Cope tank top (not Adam Copeland. A Vancouver indie wrestler).

Cody is a massive dude with a shaved head, covered in tribal tattoos. He could NOT have been more friendly or more positive. Everyone was begging he and Riea to come back next year (or just to stay in Japan).

As always, the atmosphere was amazing. Just a huge diverse group of happy drunken wrestling fans, with the bonus for me of having lots of people to speak English with. We traded war stories and talked about tattoos travel food wrestling and how grateful/lucky we are to be able to enjoy nights like that and to have a friend like Cooger who can bring us all together.

Joshi wrestler Popo-chan. Also super nice and friendly.

Seth always seems to show up after Salty leaves.

The man who makes all these memories possible for me. My drinking buddy for 15 years, Asian Cooger.

I am one lucky prick.

Merch!

We played a Russian roulette game with dumplings at the Kathmandu cafe. Guess who picked the fucking fucking spicy one.

My sinuses are still burning.

Totally worth it.

time to innovate with a reverse(?)/inverted (?) camel clutch where the attacker is facing north, the victim is facing south, and there's a behind the back chinlock. I might be describing an illegal sex position

it might be better than all the dudes doing camel clutches, which are sorta boring even if it does hurt if you do it wrong

Unless he has a MASSIVE pick up in production he isn't getting within a mile of the combine. People don't seem to realize what a small percentage of college football players are there. Looking at this years combine there were 321 players invited, 39 wide receivers. Do you think a guy with 4 career receptions is getting in?

To be fair, 3 of those receptions are this year, and schools have their own "mini combines" for players not invited to the combine. Still, at this point I very much doubt he is an NFL prospect.

Oh I posted that without looking at any stats. 😂

Inspired by my weird idea for a reverse/inverted camel clutch:

a yoga practitioner gimmick

maybe the finisher will involve him forcing opponents into downward facing dog until they give up
