The populist arguments about durr they drew over 81k they're a 20 billion dollar company are so funny. As if Marvel movies are the best films made each year and beyond criticism because of how much they gross. Why even bother consuming art or sports or entertainment if you're beholden to the logic that as long as it's the most popular and highest grossing it must be "the best"? Is McDonald's your favorite food because they have the most locations worldwide?

Because that's NOT what you and others said.  That's not what the posts I replied to said.  The WWE is not above criticism.  They fucking SUCKED for years in my opinion..  and that whole time they were probably making money hand over fist.

It's when people act like the company is dead because a story didn't end the way they wanted it to.. that's what I replied to.

Can we at least acknowledge the absolute banger that was the IC Title triple threat match? That was probably the best hard hitting match in WWE history and the right man went over for sure. For all the talks of Roman losing the belt, etc. I wouldn't be sad at all to see Gunther be the guy to dethrone him. He has been built up as an absolute monster and is putting out some excellent matches. I wonder who challenges for the IC Title after this, because that belt most certainly has a strong style feel attached to it with Gunther holding it down. (I'm sure I'll get pushback on this) But I for one had almost hoped that was the main event of night one because I'll be damned if that title isn't getting elevated by the Austrian with each passing match.

I wasn’t a fan of the ending of Night 2. A lot of people were not a fan of the end of Elimination Chamber and I low key was. It’s all fine. If someone was turned off enough that they’ll stop following along, that’s fine too. We’re consumers of entertainment. Either way is fine.

If the story folds out like @Greggulator posted earlier, I’ll likely really enjoy the journey. If someone doesn’t like the way that does or doesn’t play out, that’s fine.

No need for anyone to be overly defensive and overly read into posts to think they’re saying more than they actually are.

I have no real dog in this fight once Sammy lost, as I don't particularly care about Cody Rhodes. Even with that said, I truly don't understand what this company is doing. Cody was getting monster reactions, even survived "Hand picked Babyface the crowd is super behind against the straight forward pick the company once" thing that has murdered others. Even when Sammy lost and I hated it, I did understand Cody winning at Mania made a lot of sense and could understand the argument against it.

Now? I have no clue what they are thinking. I do know any and all talking points about "Jey is gonna take the title of Roman!" is stupid. It's not going to happen and thinking it is silly. And there was nothing at all from keeping the Roman/Jey storyline non-title post Roman winning and it still not being a huge deal. The only thing that feels right is they are still just fishing for Roman/Rock, and man, do I not care about waiting a year to watch a 51 year old come back and end a title reign that has existed for 3 years. They have nobody on the docket that makes sense. I just don't get it.

I'm with you Greg.  I've wanted The Bloodline story to finish with Jey Uso the whole time.  Would not have been mad at Cody winning AT ALL..  I think people are confusing the two. The story started with Jey and I'd prefer it ends with Jey.   If it does end with Jey,  I don't think that's "bad booking"  I think that's great booking...

I understand this feeling, I get it. But if you do that on Sunday night, then on Monday Jey Uso is your undisputed world champion. And I don't think he's there yet. And I don't think The Bloodline story has the legs to last until he is.

Saying Jey Uso has "no shot" but The Rock does... what?   What in the world.  Dwayne is not ending this run.

On WWE's YouTube page there's a Bloodline story recap that's about 2 hours long, it hits on most of the major plot points.  People can go watch that are refresh their memory. I'm not going to spend anymore time arguing about it.

Question: Even if the Billion Dollar company made the decision to end the biggest title run they've had since Hogan's lose the belt to a tag team specialist with no real track record as a draw (which they will not do, and you know exactly how silly you are being for suggesting they will), why couldn't they just run the Jey/Roman angle being, you know. Non Title? Like a sane company?

One has a chance to do the thing WWE dreams of constantly (Pulling in the non-wrestling fans) and the other doesn't. Jey Uso is a good wrestler, but he's also not someone anyone outside of wrestling circles has ever heard of. It's not complicated.

You don’t need to defend yourself on what you like or shouldn’t feel you need to. If you’re happy with the results, I’m pretty happy for you and I generally enjoy your posts. I guess I don’t understand the passion and irritation you had towards @Belgian_Waffle when he was speaking towards his own feelings. Someone saying they didn’t like something doesn’t mean they think it will fail as a company or other people shouldn’t enjoy it.

If The Rock has a match vs. Roman, that means WWE already has your money.  Why would they need to have him go over when he obviously would not be sticking around? The tickets would already be sold.  He puts over Roman no questions asked.

I actually want Gunther be the guy to dethrone the guy that dethrones Roman.

What makes sense is that Vince is back, he merged/sold his company and he wants "his guy" to be the face of the company coming out of the show tomorrow, and I'm sure he wasn't the only one.  From that perspective it totally makes sense

Ax didn't have a 3-year story playing out with Hogan did he?  You're saying shit just to say it.

Doesn’t really matter, it’s the same idea in theory. Let’s say Demolition was involved with the story, and had been from the start. Who should end a 4 year reign - a dude from a tag team who was the catalyst, or anyone else? The entire point of everyone arguing with you is that the story doesn’t. need. the. title. It possibly even works BETTER without it.

Quite simply, I can come up with zero other reason for why this company didn't chose this moment to make a superstar. They aren't going to get another chance like this. And, once more, you still haven't clarified once why they couldn't do the Roman/Jey thing and have it be non-title.

Jey Uso, good wrestler, been great in this role, will never be the guy who you can trot out as the face of the company. If you are ending a 3 year title reign, and you aren't getting that in the payoff, what were you even fucking doing?
