odessasteps
It seems like they put in all these rules in European futbol when matches restarted and now guys are hugging and swapping shirts and such. But oddly, are still doing postgame elbow bumps instead of shaking hands.
BobbyWhioux
Well elbow bumps and fist bumps are way more fun and cool than dorky-ass handshakes anyway But don’t take my word for it: ask Sid
RIPPA
BTW - for those of you not in the area. Current and former WFC players are trying to will Red Wolves into being the new name Polls are stupid but because of constant talk from said players - it is now the run away choice from the fans each time a local media outlet runs a poll on what the new name should be
RIPPA
Oh and to the surprise of no one - squatters have been trying to file for trademarks on every possible new name for Washington Example - here are two squatters fighting with each other over who has the RedTails trademark

Because Lady Antebellum's whole case for not paying this woman is when they filed for name in 2010 that no one objected to it. Wouldn't that be like a student in college plagiarizing a past student's work and saying it isn't plagiarizing because no one objected to the plagiarism? FWIW, from https://blog.redpoints.com/en/first-to-use-vs-first-to-file-trademark Quote Under U.S. trademark law, an Applicant that has filed an application to register their mark can assert priority against a user of an unregistered mark, so long as 1) the Applicant has actually used the mark in commerce prior to the unregistered user’s use of the mark in commerce in the same geographical territory, or 2) the Applicant is able to successfully register their mark provided that a) the Applicant filed the application for trademark registration prior to the date of actual use of the mark in commerce by the other unregistered user, and b) the Applicant has either actually used the mark in commerce, or has shown a bonafide intention to use the mark in commerce at the time of filing the trademark application, followed by actual use within the specified amount of time. So I think if Lady A can show that she was actually using the name and earning money prior to the trademark filing, she would have a pretty good case. 1
RIPPA
I definitely know in wrestling - people have won their the trademarks over the WWE because they had been using the names for FAR longer than in just the WWE It seems like a lot if - even going back to the Washington thing is the hope that someone will just pay them instead of wanting to have to deal with the courts
odessasteps
I'd think the Dan would rather pay his lawyers already on the payroll than someone who tried to cyber squat him.

Dolfan in NYC
Yeah, I'm putting the chances of a season happening at about 30%. To tie this in to the previous post... The cynic in me says Snyder knows there's going to be no season and letting the name change happen now, so he gets a year plus cooling off period.

RIPPA
The apparent reason why they aren’t announcing what the new names is is because they are currently in a trademark battle over it
hammerva
Pigskins is my favorite awful name because it combines the complete laziness of fans who want to say "Skins" and the only thing that most fans live off of and that is nostalgia when they were actually good. Plus the logo would easily be the goofiest thing possible

RIPPA
Also announcing that you are going to retire the name and logo "and the end of the review" while providing no timeline for said review is pretty much the most Dan Snyder thing ever

We still have no idea what the team will be called. While it might have made the people who wanted the name gone happy, it is the ultimate cock tease for actual Skins fans.
