To be fair, Vince probably doesn't remember who Rusev is either.

Rusev, no. Lana, yes.

hashtag gentlemen prefer blondes

hopefully, coming from wrestling families, both Charlotte & Andrade know it’s best to keep real life relationships from becoming on-screenones.

I love that some of you have enough faith in them to fantasy book something that could be considered the correct final between the hottest prospects from each side of the bracket. Haven’t you been hurt enough?

I think people see the way the marketing team is advertising this, and they assume this will the WWE’s answer to the G1. But they forget who’s still running the show, and why he books a tournament with that specific gimmick.

I’d completely forgotten Sheamus won KOTR. His kayfabe resume is bananas.

I remember he posted that picture a year or two ago with all the various stuff he won.

I wanna say there was only one "thing" (since stuff like winning a Rumble or MITB or KOTR aren't technically titles) he was missing but for the life of me I can't remember what it was

He's never held the Intercontinental title. Or the Universal, but not many people have held that one.

Edit: And he never won any titles in WWECW.

Edge might be the only guy who has won everything (World title,  WWE title,  I.C.,  U.S.,  both tag titles,  Money in the Bank,  King of the Ring and Royal Rumble)

I guess we will see if his "comeback" leads to his winning the 24/7 title.

Edge is test case number one for how much titles don't matter in the modern era. They put every title they could on that overpushed tag team specialist, but it still couldn't help him cut a decent promo or have a great match without diving off tables or do something about those overblown fucking facial expressions.

He's the Ur-Sheamus. Or the Ur-Seth Rollins, if you'd like.

You're right,  I guess you could say Edge has won everything that still exists (although the Universal title is a different title than the world title).    He'd have to win the 24/7 title.

What am I missing..   is Braun's GRR belt the only one in existence?   There's also the "Best in the World" trophy.   Let's just not count Saudi Arabia gimmicks.

I don't disagree with you there.   Although I would put Edge above Sheamus and Seth Rollins because Edge's first title reign saw a nice ratings increase while he was doing the Rated R Superstar deal.

If I was doing my own personal WWF/E Hall of Fame Edge would be in it but he's closer to the "Hall of very good" than he is to Austin or Bret in my eyes...

I know people liked him, but for me, I felt about him how people seem to feel about Seth Rollins right now. I think if he had been a garbage-match worker primarily and a gatekeeper for people who were headed to the main event, he would have been better used.

But you are right; that first reign had some success. Was that the "Live Sex Show" reign? Edge was hot coming off the Matt and Lita stuff and then the MitB victory, if I have my timeline right, so it made sense to put the gold on him to some degree. I just thought that he shouldn't have even been near that position in the first place.

The Andre trophy?

Wow,  I had to look up who has won it and it's not exactly a murderers' row.   Big Show is by far the most accomplished.  He has won both world titles,  I.C., U.S.,  both sets of tag titles, even the ECW world title that I kind of forgot about.  Obviously the Hardcore a few times.    But,  he never won the European title I guess and he never won any of the tournament/special competitions besides The Andre.

I would say he belongs in Vince's hall for his WWF career, but not in any of the others. I didnt voted for him for the Observer HOF (but that's also due to my ballot being lucha heavy).

If you're fantasy booking the KotR tourney, it isn't the WWE that will disappoint you - you are in charge of that. You're disappointing yourself.

Sounds right in my head.  I think he was coming off the Matt feud and he had won MITB and then he ended a long Cena reign (after Cena won an Elimination Chamber Match).  Then he trashed the spinner title and had his own "Rated R" version.  Seen here:

I just saw on Twitter than Lance is closing his school after the next session.

Did I miss that being posted here?

Well,  I don't know if he fits that criteria but maybe he does.  He wasn't a god tier worker.  I know that's somewhat subjective but he was pretty much a garbage match worker as a singles. There were a couple matches like the hair vs hair with Angle that I loved.

I don't know if he moved a lot of merch,  I assume he did?  I remember a lot of Edge shirts in the day.  We talked about the short lived ratings spike.  Is that enough to say he was a draw?

See,  I feel like guys like Million Dollar Man who have far less "accomplishments" have left more of a lasting impression than guys like Edge.  I'm just talking WWF/E stuff too..  Ted was involved in so many memorable angles and moments where Edge's most memorable are hmm  the spear off the ladder on Hardy at WMX-7 (as a tag worker),  the Live Sex Celebration with Lita and then the spear through the burning table on Foley.  Does he have anymore during all those title reigns,  I don't know.

Off the top of my head, I might also include:

The flair match, his Mania match with Taker, Christian's turn when hit edge with the Stanley Cup style KOTR trophy, some of the stuff with vicki.

That shouldn’t hinder criticism of the way they tell the story of the tournament, or the plot that develops from it afterwards.

I know there's always a debate when it comes to listing titles won by wrestlers, but I've always subscribed to the theory that you count titles that existed during that wrestler's active period, so in Edge's case I would count Hardcore and European but not 24/7 as eligible titles. I think that's only fair.

Yeah,  that's fair.  Hard to imagine he didn't win the Hardcore at least once.  That's crazy.  The European title bounced around a lot too but that's more understandable.
