Brian Fowler
There's no way I can see that it works without sending Love as payment for the rental, and that's a steep price. Especially if George and LeBron then both go to LA.

The Sixers will sit him for a season if he stubs his toe...

But you can live somewhere else and have an acting career. TBH for a novice actor that's black, Atlanta would be a better destination than Los Angeles. Brian Fowler
He has a house in LA, he's building Hollywood connections, he still has that dream of playing with Wade, CP3, and Carmelo, Melo wants to play somewhere warm, the Lakers will have plenty of Young talent and cap room. I know all that, but what connections? I know he has a production company, but couldn't he do possibly do this somewhere else. What gigs is not getting by being in Cleveland (or before then, Miami). Mind you, he would be unavailable for 8 or 9 months out of the year still. I just want to be in Los Angeles is more a valid reason than I want to be an actor or producer. jaedmc
Surely Boston is going to dump this pick and get Paul George and hope they win enough to make him stay.
RIPPA
Trade is official Quote Philadelphia completed its trade for the No. 1 overall pick in this year's NBA draft, landing the pick from the Boston Celtics on Monday in a move that clears the way for the 76ers to grab guard Markelle Fultz. Philadelphia will hold the No. 1 pick for the second straight year, and worked Fultz out on Saturday night as talks with the Celtics got to the final stages. It was agreed to in principle at that point, with the last holdup being the customary league approval on the terms. Boston gets the No. 3 pick in Thursday's draft from Philadelphia, plus either a first-rounder in 2018 and 2019. If the Los Angeles Lakers hold a pick between No. 2 and No. 5 next season, Boston gets that one. If not, Philadelphia will send Boston either its own first-rounder in 2019 or Sacramento's first-rounder that year. In short, Philadelphia gets the guard it wanted in Fultz, and Boston gets a draft-pick haul in exchange for sliding down only two spots this year. Zimbra
On Earth-2 where Lebron grew up in Peoria instead of Akron the Cavs are in the lottery for the 14th consecutive year and we talk about Gilbert the same way we do Sterling and Dolan.

Zimbra
Phil Jackson, not to be out-dumbed by Dan Gilbert, has apparently "not ruled out" trading Porzingis and is exploring offers with a plan to draft Lauri Markonnen if they do trade him.

If Knicks fans haven't burned MSG to the ground by now, they aren't burning it to the ground for something as silly as trading their best player. This would be just another Knicks move.
Zimbra
The fact that Dolan is still walking around wasting good air means Phil is probably safe. Also, playing with the trade machine with rookie salaries is super fun:
Jiji
It must be so frustrating being a Knicks fan since the Ewing era. Woj is claiming Phil is looking for a high end guard. Pau is reportedly going to decline his hefty player option and re-sign at a lower dollar figure for a longer term to give the Spurs some cap room. It's so fascinating with the NBA watching good teams make the right moves and bad teams clearly make the wrong moves. Meritocracy at its finest. Dolfan in NYC
There's a not-without-merit school of thought that the worst thing that's happened to the Knicks (and Rangers) is the renovation to MSG, which has made the bottom bowl incredibly expensive and the haven of corporations. Those seats are sold regardless of the product that's being put out, Dolan has absolutely no reason to improve the product.
Cole Miner
Jackson wanted Okafor over Porzingis at the draft. Not too late. Best thing we could offer in a trade with the Knicks would be eating Noah's deal. Aldrich, Rubio, pick number 7, and a future pick or 2 for Noah and Porzingis works in the trade machine. Minnesota should be able to afford to eat Noah's deal like we can thanks to having so much youth. Knicks have wanted Rubio and Porzingis and Towns gives Minnesota 2 mobile bigs that can play 4 or 5. Noah as a ridiculously overpaid mentor I guess.
