Brian Fowler
Oh look, Baylor ignored reported gang rape. Note this is a new lawsuit about a different rape than all the others they ignored. This "who is the actual worst" Baylor/Penn State rivalry can end any day now. http://deadspin.com/yet-another-lawsuit-says-baylor-officials-did-nothing-a-1795301848

EVA
The whole story I guess Ole Miss's invesigation turned up more dirt that we'll hear about soon, otherwise I kinda agree with Freeze that the escort service connection seems tenuous, if it's just the single one-minute call. Maybe he made one mistake and mixed up his school phone and his burner. Shouldve taken pointers from Lane Kiffin.

Dolfan in NYC
UF has suspended 7 players for its opener against Michigan in 3 weeks. They were caught in a scam where they bought electronics with school scholarship money, reported their cards as stolen, and while waiting for the new card, sold the electronics they'd bought for cash. It's all extremely stupid. And what's worse, is now Michigan will probably win that game too. Yuck.

The only reason they did anything is because this was leaked to the media. It would be amazing if it was someone from the Huntley Johnson camp leaking it. supremebve
You know how to stop players from coming up with harebrained schemes for cash? Getting paid. Just saying.

I agree that players should get some $, but it won't stop them from doing dumb shit. And most players at larger Universities (football and basketball, anyway) get paid. It's just not in the up and up. Whether it's $100 handshakes, free food/drinks at local establishments or selling their University given clothes/shoes, they get paid. Yeah, but all those things are pretty much equal to what they did. And most of those dudes do not get paid jack shit. You have to realize that most players pretty anonymous and no one would think about paying them in the first place. The only football players who would be getting paid are probably a star quarterback, running back, wide receiver, or pass rusher. I don't care how good the left guard is, nobody is paying him. I know more than a few people who played college sports, and they didn't get a damn thing. I'm sure there are people getting paid, but it isn't much, nor are there many players getting paid. Interesting, because I know of linemen at multiple schools who got paid by boosters, tried selling/trading apparel and had "foster parents" that would bring them into my store for shopping sprees. And this was what I would call a pretty middle of the pack big ten school (you can probably guess by my user name which one it is). I've also seen with my own eyes players at different venues purposely being brought through a booster sponsored tailgate for meet and greets, where it was expected that they received $. EVA
Yeah, guys should definitely get paid (a lot), but there are some who are still gonna do dumb stuff. I mean, one of the guys caught up in this is Antonio Calloway, who is easily Florida's biggest offensive star and would be a high NFL draft pick if not for his *long* history of off field issues. And I find it very hard to believe he hasn't been well compensated for his time in Gainesville. But he's just dumb, so here he is.

This particular dumb activity is based purely off the fact that they needed cash and live under a set of rules that says they can't have any. EVA
Right, but what I'm saying is that there's no way Callaway, the biggest star at a big SEC school, doesn't have cash. I don't know about the other guys involved, but it is inconceivable (!) that guy doesn't have a fine ride, a comped condo, and spending money when he needs it or whatever else.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that Callaway has no problems getting $, rides, weed, ect. Heck, dude he got pulled over with in his last run in with the law is a known drug dealer. floridaneeds to be a bit more careful. Huntley Johnson is the only thing that kept the chinless wonders teams on the field at uf and has helped hundreds of uf athletes. But he's a bit salty that uf hasn't paid his $400,000 in fees for representing Callaway during the sexual assault accusations, and if he opens his mouth, we'll see an SMU type situation. To be fair, that ride belongs to his mom, he's dog sitting for the school year in his friend's condo, and it's not his fault he just keeps tripping over bags with giant dollar signs on them that happen to be filled with cash. 1
