I just realized the benefit of Sheamus winning MITB.

Brock beats the holy hell out of Rollins and wins back the World Championship.  WWE books a European tour, including a stop in Dublin, Ireland in their biggest arena.  Sheamus calls his shot, says he wants Brock Lesnar in Dublin.  He starts talking incredible amounts of shit, goes on a press tour of Ireland with Brock where he talks non-stop about how he'll destroy Brock.  He can steal the belt from one stop to the next.  Brock can try to remain calm and reiterate that he's the best pound for pound wrestler on the planet, but you can see the trash talk is starting to get to him.  Finally, big WWE Network Special in Dublin Ireland with the main event being Sheamus in his hometown versus Brock.

Then Brock can murder him and we never have to talk about Sheamus again.

kinda like how the Jose Aldo - Conor McGregor fight is going to happen.

I really don't get the hate for Ambrose/Rollins and thought it was better than Owens/Cena II. When you think of it as the blowoff for a almost year long blood feud, the huge spots kinda makes sense. Rollins has faced Ambrose enough times to know that he's like a fucking zombie you can't put down. He tries to work over Ambrose's leg early, but that doesn't stop him whatsoever. Ambrose at certain points goes for some high spots instead of just climbing the ladder, but that's cause Ambrose takes joy in punishing his biggest enemy in Rollins. He's a fighter, all he knows is to fight. The ending is perfect, Rollins hits Ambrose with the pedigree, thinks he's got the match won, Ambrose can't even climb the ladder but he's just hanging on Rollins leg for dear life. Rollins just says fuck it and decides it's time to absolutely destroy Ambrose. Cue Powerbomb city and burying him under the ladder and chairs. But not even that can keep Ambrose down, and he gets back to ladder for the final spot. But the fact is, Ambrose is a fighter, but Rollins is a WINNER. So Rollins holds on for dear life, while Ambrose tries to tug the belt away and comes up totally empty. If he had just held it like Rollins they could had have another screwy ending, but Ambrose instincts to fight relentlessly costs him, the same way it has the entire feud with Rollins. Add in Ambrose's awesome selling, and I don't see how it's not a MOTYC.

Ambrose/Rollins was worlds better than Owens/Cena II. It had legit story telling, character work, in ring psychology. Owens/Cena was another indie sprint with no story. It's a real shame that the crowd was too tired to appreciate what they were given for the main event. It's the best ladder match in many, many years.

Wait: that garbage outside the ring during Rollins/Ambrose was Indy Wrestling 101. To claim one of those matches was "too indie" and the other wasn't is crazy.

Big spot doesn't always mean indy wrestling. The difference is that they took 25+ minutes to build to "nothing else can take Ambrose out, time to kill this motherfucker" while Cena/Owens went a mile a minute from probably minute 3.

Re: Sheamus not cashing in.

Considering how HHH came right out after Rollins won,it makes sense to figure he was there to make sure that BS didn't happen. I can easily imagine Sheamus heading up to the gorrilla postion backstage with the briefcase, and HHH stopping him and going "Where the fuck do you think you're going?"

Not against this idea, in theory...so why isn't it on TV? They used the backstage shit for the girls, why not in this scenario. It's a neat idea.

It looks like "The Authority" is gonna need a new lead antagonist here soon. I don't imagine Rollins will be a part much longer. That's probably where Sheamus fits in....

I also get the feeling that Sheamus will become the new Authority golden boy by the end of the year if not the end of summer, and we will get out in the wilderness Rollins, fending for himself without anyone in his corner cause of all the sins of his past (rebuilding him also) until one day when the Authority is  standing tall over someone and we hear, "Sierra, Hotel, India, Echo, Lima, Delta" and the place explodes in a pop reminiscent of the Attitude era

This is cool except it involves the Authority being around for another year.

Raw is essentially a workplace comedy about a wrestling company now. The Authority doesn't really get heat because they're so goofy, and they're certainly not cool heels either. That said, I don't see any end to the angle, maybe for years.

They're probably gonna be around longer than another year in some capacity or another. Gotta have those heel authority figures.

The heel authority figure is one of the worst fucking things to happen to wrestling.

Actually, they had an end to the angle (Survivor Series finish). And they threw it out the window like a month later.

It's just unfortunate that it has become a seemingly needless trope that every promotion needs an evil authority figure. Before the success of Austin vs McMahon, any one in power was usually pretty unbiased, now it's a storyline crutch.a lazy one at that. Thanks Attitude era!

Didn't USA want Hunter and Steph back on RAW?

What the hell do the USA execs know? They air Chrisley Knows Best for god sakes.

He brings in the ratings for women 40 and up. If CHB didn't draw, it wouldn't still be on the air.
