A friend of mine who is a local indy wrestler got a call from a casting agency based out of Detroit last week for an interview for Tough Enough. He didn't submit a tape or anything, just got a call. He went in to the initial interview and was scheduled for a follow up interview yesterday. No word on how that one went, I just thought it was interesting how he got a call like that without even submitting a tape.

It's almost like they have a Database.

The just posted a video of a guy whose whole pitch (besides being roided out) is that he is Zack Ryder's best friend

I am not sure that is the tact I would have taken...

He was a regular on Z! True Long Island Stories for most of its run, too.

Well it was more "odd" in that the didn't just let him get like a 6 month run in the performance center or just privately tell him "thanks but no thanks"

I actually was waiting for hers because she said when they first announced that they would do a Tough Enough - she said she was going to enter

Since they've only once started out a woman in her age range (Ivory, who was 38), I don't see her faring well.

I only see her (or really any woman with a lot of experience) getting in if Del Ray is pushing for them behind the scenes

More likely you will get a bunch of women like the one who did the video in her kitchen with her dog wandering around and being all "Yeah - I kinda like wrestling but I have a great ass!"

The Big O.  He also did TNA's Gut Check, the poor man's Tough Enough.

vs. Skidmarks from the last Tough Enough.

I'm shocked he hasn't gotten a look from WWE already, big guy, can talk, moves well. Seems like they would love him.

Also, Taz and Tenay sound like they are calling him "Animal Rider", which probably definitely should be his gimmick.

Drake Younger should submit one, just for fun.

i was going to suggest Colt Cabana submitting some. a new video submission for each gimmick. Colt. Matt Classic. Scotty Goldman.

Contestants will be trained by Booker T, Billy Gunn and Lita

NEW YORK and STAMFORD, Conn. — USA Network and WWE announced today that WWE Superstar Chris Jericho will be the host of the highly anticipated series WWE Tough Enough, and will be joined by a panel of experts comprised of WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan and WWE Diva Paige. The high-octane reality series premieres LIVE Tuesday, June 23, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on USA Network and around the world.

This season of WWE Tough Enough will combine the can’t-miss excitement of live television with reality-show drama, as WWE hopefuls vie for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become the next WWE Superstar or Diva. Unlike anything on television today, the lightning-fast hour of entertainment and competition will include live results every week, giving fans worldwide the power to decide who stays and who goes the very same night. Each week, one cast member will be eliminated until one man and one woman are considered “Tough Enough,” with each earning a one-year, $250,000 WWE contract.

Throughout the competition, the contestants will be trained by WWE Legends Booker T, Billy Gunn and Lita. Contestants will also come face-to-face with WWE icons including WWE Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Vince McMahon; Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative, Paul “Triple H” Levesque; Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon; and WWE Superstar John Cena, among others.

Wait Lita? Surely they must be joking? Its 2015, is there ANYONE on this board who can still admit (while keeping a straight face) that her in-ring work was good. She had a good character. Okay fine. She was a good heel and face. Fine. Good promo (at times). Okay fine, I get it. But surely aside from a FEW crisp spots at the start of her WWE run can we all admit that she shouldn't training ANYONE in ring? promos, how to get over, etc. fine. I disagree, but fine. The in-ring stuff? No way.

I get the feeling that Lita's gonna have a stable of trainers and chief amongst them one named Sara.

Overall, with the contestants being trained at the Performance Center, the NXT regulars are going to get the rub in a roundabout way.

How is this not going to have the same issue that the first run had. Where the wrestlers who have been wrestling for years/decades are going to be up set with some first time wrestler getting a 'major' push?
