RIPPA
Capcom announced that Exoprimal will no longer be receiving new content. They claim that the servers will remain online but if you are someone who wants to 100% it, I would do so sooner rather than later
Chaos
14 hours ago, Casey said: I love looter shooters so naturally I’m addicted to The First Descendant. I watched a couple minutes of this on Twitch earlier today. I might download it and give it a brief run even though I know better than to try any as a service games with my availability. I haven't touched my PS5 in over 2 weeks. odessasteps
Finished Ghost of Tsushima DLC today. 95 hours total. May try to get all the collectibles before cancelling my PS sub in a couple weeks. i downloaded Dave the Diver since it’s free on PS Plus, so I may play that for a couple days. dragonzombie
Mortal Kombat Plug It in & Play TV Games published by Jakks, released in 2005 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=F-MpTPhKIFM It's not emulation but a port built from the ground up by Digital Eclipse and programmed by one guy re-using the arcade code of Mortal Kombat in a new engine. There are differences in the fighters sizes and the backgrounds being static and more. https://cyberabi.ipower.com/Gallery/JakksMK/index.html
COLETTI
Soooooo many games in the backlog, so I started Doom 2016. Incredibly fun game but fuck first person platforming. Probably do either Alien: Isolation next, maybe Dishonored...
dragonzombie
I think there are 7 known Revisions of Mortal Kombat 2 for the Arcades. I'm not gonna count the bootlegs or rom hacks by fans. One of the first Revisions... 0.1, the very first isn't dumped online but showcased in link below https://youtu.be/hGHXQHdT77I?si=a703ObFUTFJwQ20k bunch of differences
SirSmUgly
The season pass for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope was on sale this week, so I went ahead and bought it. The sequel was nowhere near as good as the first game (mostly because the freer movement of the second game took a lot of the fun out of the SRPG parts of it), but what the hell, I'm interested in re-visiting it. Also, Rayman is in the third DLC, and I am very into that. I guess since I'm talking about Rayman and Mario crossing over, I'll go ahead and drop a "Put Rayman in Smash, Sakurai/whoever takes over for Sakurai" here. Chaos
I learned over the weekend that you can convert a disc version of a PS5 game to a digital purchase. I dumbly resubbed to Gamefly last month, and I wanted to send a game back that I was a few hours into, and it was on sale. You used to not be able to do that with games on playstation. That was a launch feature with the Xbox Series X. Also, I played through the tutorial of Helldivers 2 that I also got from Gamefly. I'm happy I got the game this way. I don't really have a group that I play with regularly (joys of being 37 and a friend group with various degrees of lives). How playable is the game if you just use random matchmaking? I didn't hop into a session past the tutorial because I was curious about this.
Death From Above
Rando matchmaking is honestly fantastic in that game. It's definitely one of the reasons it has taken off.
Joe vs the Algorithm
Got a chance to play Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess early and, my goodness, do I love it. It’s basically a mix of Onimusha & a tower defense game with gorgeous art direction. It has some Okami dna too, Not that similar in gameplay, but it reminds me of Capcom’s PS2 era when Capcom did strange, offbeat games that weren’t system sellers. Not sure it will sell well, but a lovely, experimental game. Despite being given a code, I’ll be buying two copies this week - one for Xbox, one for PS5. i actually hope it does sell well. Right now, it’s a digital exclusive and I definitely want a physical edition. Also, I want more games like this, some of my favorite Capcom games from the PS2 era were oddball titles that sold poorly, God Hand is one of my personal top 10. Okami isn’t far behind. Rule of Rose, Haunting Ground, and Clock Tower 3 are probably three of the most interesting experiments to come out of that generation.
SirSmUgly
The Nintendo World Championship: NES Edition game is just a bunch of speedrunning challenges across a handful of NES games, and yet it's oddly compelling. It's best played in short bursts though. The game asks you to pick your favorite NES game at the start, and I had a brief psychological struggle before choosing Tecmo Super Bowl over Super Mario Bros. 3. SirSmUgly
34 minutes ago, Stefanie Sparkleface said: So it's like NES Remix? I liked NES Remix. It's not like that, to my surprise. NES Remix had all the weird remixed levels and cross-over stuff like putting Link into a Super Mario Bros. level. This is just chunks of the games straight up, no remixing at all, and you do different tasks as fast as you can. The first SMB task is "get a Super Mushroom," and you just do that as quickly as possible and compete against other people online also doing it as quickly as possible. It's purely a game for speedrunners.
odessasteps
I watch Andre from GX stream it for a while. Prob fun for people who like that kind of game.
SirSmUgly
I rarely do speed-run challenges. The daily speed run challenges from Rayman Legends are a rare example of challenges that grab me. But yeah, this game is surprisingly addictive the way Rayman Legends is. Also, playing little blips and blurts of Super Mario Bros. 3 has reinforced my belief that it's still one of the two or three best games that Nintendo has ever made. I might play through it with no warping on my 3DS here and there over the next few weeks.
Cliff Hanger
SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos (the SNK-developed arcade crossover, not as good as the two Capcom-develiped ones but with a broader and weirder roster) just dropped on Steam for $20, PSN and Switch eShop launches this coming week. I'll wait for it to go on sale, but between this, Terry and Mai in SF6, and the NGPC ports, I have high hopes that those Capcom-developed games will land on PSN too.
SirSmUgly
SNK vs. Capcom Chaos is amazing for two reasons: The SNK art style being used on Capcom characters and the weird roster. Tessa? Mars People? Violent Ken? I wish SNK would make another one of these someday. I have an original Xbox copy of the game, but I think I'll get a digital copy just because. Ramo2653
Partly inspired by my gf playing Disney Dreamlight Valley I decided to go through the Kingdom Hearts games again starting with KH1 Final Mix. I've learned I don't have the patience to do the grinding required for a lot of the extra stuff (synthesis items is a big one and some of those bonus fights don't look super worth it to me right now) but I'm at level 55 with about 40 hours into the game and I have the second visit to Hollow Bastion left and the coliseum solo and time trial runs left. Since I only played the original version of KH1 back in college at lot of the bonus enemies were new to me and I had to look up how to deal with them. As with my usual experience with Square RPGs I'll hit a point where I don't want to do anymore extra stuff and just finish up the game. Still enjoying the hell out of it though.
dragonzombie
I'm playing Mortal Kombat 2. The installment where the series gets more otherworldly. I have both the arcade game and the Genesis port.
odessasteps
I gave up on Dreamlight when it seems like gathering 4 sets of stuff in the 100s and I had to grind to underlock everyone’s level 10 friend quests.

It showed up over the weekend when i was out of town. got a couple games in queue before i get to it. But i loved NES Remix on the WIi-U, so i'm thinking this will hit all of my nostalgia warm fuzzies too.
assfax
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2513580/Veritus/ I believe this is the sequel to Prodigal which was a great Link's Awakening clone from a few years back. This continues on into the GBC Oracles tradition. Looking goddamn good with a nice price to boot. Didn't play Curse Crackers but it's on my radar. More games I'll never make time to beat. dragonzombie
I do have both NES Zeldas, and the SMS ripoff Golden Axe Warrior. The only 3D Zelda games i finished were OOT and Majoras Mask. I played abit of Windwaker, I never hated the artstyle.

It definitely has me going at these games in a much different way than I ever have before. While I'm talking about this game, I sort of hate the original TLoZ. I feel like Link is more responsive to my d-pad presses in Link's Awakening or ALttP to such a degree that I actually got kinda heated at having to clear the first labyrinth as the last challenge. Getting at least an A-rank isn't that hard, but I have my pride and would like to S-rank or A++ rank everything eventually. But man, moving Link around feels terrible. As for Balatro, I a) cannot get the cards I need to bring my deck down to five so that I can unlock the last voucher, and I cannot b) get into the quintillions in terms of score (I haven't even reached the multibillions), and I'm getting sick of not getting useful long-term jokers at all, or getting them and then not getting the support cards to effectively plan around them. I might need to put it down for awhile.
