45 minutes to beat the 100 Pit boss. Less than 10:HP and 1 companion left. I lucked out and got the FP bingo which replenished my FP which was down to zero. Then, i remembered that goombella could give Mario 2 turns with her Power and then got me 4 Ultra Hammer attacks to take out their last 20 HP. I did not want to do it again.

I liked Origami King even with faults and paling to the earlier installments.

I think the only one in the series outside of the first two Paper Mario games that I liked was Super Paper Mario.

Each of the other games in the series has neat elements, but none of them did it for me.

I feel like people usually enjoy SPM or tOK, but Sticker Star and Color Splash are generally disliked.

My impression was people thought color splash was big improvement over the justifiably hated Sticker Star. Maybe that’s people I know in the Nintendo reviewer community.

Well finally finished Kingdom Hearts 1 from the collection and as with all Square RPGs, if you try to do all of the bonus fights, the actual final boss is a cakewalk. Felt good finishing off Sephiroth though. And the Xemnas fight they added in was cool too. Ending is still some somber stuff. Going to give Chain of Memories a shot. I remember not liking it at all when I had it for the Gameboy Advance.

I tried to play (Re:)Chain of Memories a couple of years back but that is just not a very good game. Even for a JRPG, there is a lot of text without saying anything to just click through while getting more and more bored, all stages are just cheap reuses from Kingdom Hearts 1, and the gameplay itself is nothing to write home about. If you want to try a non-mainline game in the collection, give Birth by Sleep a chance. It has an interesting fighting system, mostly new stages and a pretty interesting story ark.

I have the "Story so Far" collection which is everything leading up to KH3 and my plan is to go through all of them. And to be fair a half hour is this just shows me this isn't worth my time.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is 15 today. What a game for the story, atmosphere  the innovative FreeFlow combat system, stealth mechanics and the Scarecrow sections. The game features from the legendary Batman: The Animated Series the late great Kevin Conroy, the late great Arleen Sorkin, Mark Hamill and Paul Dini. I completed all 240 riddles, all 20 upgrades and 42 character bios. I know some prefer Batman: Arkham City but it's always been Batman: Arkham Asylum for me. Your thoughts?

Great game and one of the midway harder platinums to do. The combat challenges are a pain to do.

I'm the oddball who liked Origins the best. Though I've probably played City the most because I've found it pretty easy to rack up 6-digit Combat Challenge scores.

One of my gamer pals was touting this game and it looks funny, but with no demo,I’m not paying $20 for something I might or might not enjoy.

Grabbed the Castlevania set; Haunted Castle Revisited is somehow the exact same game and completely different, and that's all I've tried.

FUCK YES GOLD MASTER SERIES TETRIS! Digital Eclipse are the mayors of this kind of retrospective and this is an obvious choice that I'd never have thought of.

Hey, only 2 weeks til I finally get to beat MSHvSF with Shadow Charlie, a hiddem character I could successfully choose 1 in 5 attempts.

CFC2 looks fantastic. I'm bummed that we get Project Justice and Plasma sword without Rival Schools and Star Gladiator. And no Tech Romancer (though I don't know if I give a shit about the arcade version, a lot of what kept me coming back to that was console-exclusive.) And SFA3 UPPER has felt conspicuous in its absence in the Arcade Stadium releases, SF 30th, and the first CFC.

None of the actual new games grabbed me. My gaming is getting more retrocrank-ish

If anyone liked the Warioland series, I'll strongly recommend Pizza Tower.  Yeah, it's been on PC for a while, but it's worth the $20 to grab it on the Switch, it's really good.

I started playing Balatro tonight after seeing it in the direct and talking to some of my reviewer pals.

pretty fun. It’s poker, but you accumulate jokers and arcana cards to buff your hand.

So, I'm enjoying the new Star Wars game so far, but it's totally a Ubisoft game, way too much reliance on the R3 button.

Did Simon find a bathroom in the re-release?
