Brady Hoke announced that he will retire at season's end so add San Diego State to the list of schools who will need a new HC

Time for

checks list of former Chargers HCs woah it’s been 7 years since they moved

Mike McCoy to make his triumphant return to San Diego

Or June Jones if you want an ex-Chargers HC with college chops

TIL Brady Hoke is still an active head coach.

He had a fair amount of success early in his second stint at SDSU but it's gone very badly. This feels a lot like a face saving retirement to they don't have to fire him.

------

On the field Saturday Michigan will look to become the first college to win 1000 games (insert "until they vacate a bunch of them" joke here.)

I don’t mind Harbaugh in a sport with so much sewage running through it. Jeeze MI’s 2 biggest rivals alone have a bigger, more disgusting recent crime history without even getting into the whole league.

Ummm it’s not like the University of Michigan hasn’t had their own sexual abuse history.

Bo Schembechler’s son even got abused and Bo’s response when being told was to punch his son.

The team that has to be enjoying the Michigan shit the most is Northwestern.  I mean 4 months ago we were talking about guys slapping other guys in strange places with their dicks all in the name of "team building" and coaches acting like it is normal.  Now nobody talks about it.

That being said, calling Michigan "America's team" says more about America then this victim complex that everyone in Michigan currently has.  I mean when Colin Cowherd is your cheerleader is how you are what is right about this country, maybe you need to rethink things

Not even that; stipulate that Fisher has to take Johnny Manziel on as his new QB coach, pay Manziel in circus peanuts and Fireball, and Fisher quits on his own within 2 weeks.

Word is, they called him, but the call didn't go through. . . 😞

Couple of Bowl notes

The Military Bowl signed a three year deal with GoBowling.Com to be a sponsor so the bowl is now Military Bowl presented by GoBowling.com (we are one step closer to the Bowling Bowl)

The Bahamas Bowl has been moved to Charlotte, NC and will now be called The Famous Toastery Bowl.

This may be a this year only thing... the stadium in the Bahamas where this is played is in the middle of a big renovation.  So they may be back soon.

Yup. Again I refer to the Big Ten official who said Pettiti considers this Michigan scouting thing the biggest scandal in Big Ten history.

Sucks to be them, though they can apparently still get a bowl game if there aren't enough .500 schools to qualify.

The Tarleton State (8-3, 4-2 United Athletic Conference) appeal is weird as I don't even think they're an FBS school yet.

Tarleton State's appeal is about being a new FCS school that isn't eligible for their playoffs. They've been in FCS since 2020 and this is their last year in the penalty box for leaving D2.
