RIPPA Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 Two games tonight Philly at Boston Lakers at Warriors Everyone else (minus the Bucks and Clippers) start tomorrow
Dolfan in NYC Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 In "Oh that's adorable" news, Dwight Howard is on Instagram talking about how he wants to play somewhere but no one in the NBA will give him the chance he wants (a/k/a starting with significant minutes). I'd say we'll get a post somewhere around April 2024 saying he's quietly retiring.
RIPPA Posted October 19, 2022 Author Posted October 19, 2022 Already good times in LA as Russell Westbrook is bitching that he suffered a hamstring strain because he came off the bench in the preseason finale. Basically, Westbrook is all "I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO WARM UP! FIRST TIME IN 14 YEARS I HAD TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!!!!" https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34827948/lakers-russell-westbrook-cites-coming-bench-hamstring-strain 1
southofheavy Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 Pistons/Magic game was a ton of fun. The youngins on both teams showed out. The Pistons are gonna be a ton of fun to watch this season and I'm really, really happy about it. Jaden Ivey is something else with that speed. Jalen Duren is 18 and looks like he more than belongs.
madl Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 Ben Simmons had.. a night. 2-3 from the field, 0-2 from foul line, 5 rebounds in 23 minutes. He fouled out and Brooklyn lost by 22. Meanwhile, Zion Williamson had 25 pts and looked like a world-beater. Simmons is probably lucky Williamson didn’t ask him for his shorts. Zion would have gotten those too. No one wants to see Ben in his tidy whities 1
RIPPA Posted October 24, 2022 Author Posted October 24, 2022 I am stunned - STUNNED - that Zion is hurt again (New Orleans also lost Brandon Ingram so this season appears to be cursed... again)
Brian Fowler Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Looks like all Zion did was bruise his ass, so he should be fine this time. Ingram may have a concussion.
Brian Fowler Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 It's only three games, but Paolo Banchero is looking like a legit future all-NBA guy. Averaging 23.3, 8.7, 3.3, and 2 blocks a night so far. They haven't won a game yet, but between him and Wagner, Orlando sure looks to have a solid foundation to build on the first time since Howard left. 1
Brian Fowler Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 Steve Nash was ejected as a coach for the first time. The last time he was thrown out of an NBA game was 2006. That was the second and final time of his playing career.
Jiji Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 Are the Lakers going to win a game before 2023? Can't even blame Westbrook right now.
Brian Fowler Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 More Paolo Banchero is ridiculous numbers. Here's a list of every player in NBA history to score 20 or more points in each their first five career games: Wilt Chamberlain Elvin Hayes Grant Hill Oscar Robertson Dominique Wilkins John Williamson Paolo Banchero (Williamson was a three year veteran in the ABA before joining the NBA, so everyone who did it as a true rookie is in the Hall of Fame. Orlando is 0-5.

Brian Fowler Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 Soooooo San Antonio just waved Josh Primo, their lottery pick in 2021, four games into his second season, after picking up his option so he's under contract through next season. That's not a great sign.
Travis Sheldon Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 The Primo situation is so strange with the way his message to ESPN was worded and the fact that the Spurs had just picked up his option. Does not seem like a "normal" issue. Why wouldn't the Spurs support their player experiencing trauma from a previous incident. Weird.
Brian Fowler Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Hey Pistons finally got win #2 tonight. Over the Dubs. Because sports don't always make sense 1
Zimbra Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Oh man, this is going to be so goddamned good. 1
RIPPA Posted October 31, 2022 Author Posted October 31, 2022 Sixers lose 2nd round picks in 2023 and 2024 for tampering with P.J. Tucker and Danuel House Jr
Dolfan in NYC Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 "Bobby Bonilla type deal" implies he did jack shit while he was in a Heat uniform. To wit, I will repost... Pay him whatever he wants. Forever.
Lawful Metal Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 That seems absurdly good? Imagine if we had a real coach who called plays or we didn’t have a brutal schedule?
