I don't understand the safety concerns people are extolling over Reigns doing a spear. It's just a shoulder tackle. Has Goldberg ever complained about his neck?

Edge doesn't count because he's got the durability of a snowflake.

Roman constantly spears people with his head tucked in to their stomach instead of outside their hip. It should be a safe move but not how he does it.

Am I the only one NOT impressed by Eva Marie's 'training' videos? I know the bar for Divas wrestling is pretty low, but SURELY it hasn't hit ground level yet (especially with all the good work coming out of NXT and with The Bellas finally finding their stride) where someone doing a bunch of half-hearted quasi lucha moves (with zero charisma attached) is popping the internet. I know there are Bob Fish fans out there (why I do not know), but the soft lucha style infused with the LA Boxing cardio kicking boxing techniques mixed in have to begin being phased out of the WWE Diva style. Eva Marie is a natural heel. All the guys want to fuck her so the women automatically hate her. This is a girl who really good get over working a less-is-more style and really playing to the crowd rather then doing empty springboard spots that look like she is just going through the motions.

When did becoming Candice Michelle 2.0 become the benchmark? I do not like what I am seeing.

I was actually impressed by how much Candice improved. Not a terrible benchmark.

Eva Marie is also somebody who is made to be Sunny 2.0, just a pretty girl who flirts with the guys and is a heel because she's hot. Not every woman has to be a wrestler of some kind. She'd be perfectly fine as Seth Rollins's arm candy or something.

I understand what the two of you are talking about, but from what I read its a change she herself wanted so I don't really understand the complaints. I haven't seen these training videos that were mentioned, but from my understanding her serious training has also only just begun in the last week or two. Apparently when Kendrick asked if she was terrible they pretty much said they have no idea because she hadn't really been properly trained until they asked him.

I liked Barrett's comeback. I don't know how to post tweets though.

Here it is (I don't know how you make an image from twitter like the Sheamus one, just found it on my travels):

Tell you what @WWESheamus, I'll bring it back when you bring back this sweet outfit. #WhatWasHeThinking

Me watching the video above:

(0:10) I'm going to assume this isn't the part I should be impressed by

(0:23) Well, she does THAT better than she used to, that's for sure.

(0:38) That actually looked pretty smooth.

(0:48) No other WWE diva is going to be able to slam her as gently as Kendrick just did.

(0:51) I say that and then he puts a bit more oomph on the next one.

(1:00) ...ok, I need to see how much of that was Kendrick

(1:00 part 2) ...again

(1:00 part 3) Ok, I can't be sure he's not doing 90% of it, but whatever she's doing isn't so bad.

(1:06) Well that proves it's still Eva Marie. Not TERRIBLE but no snap to it.

(1:22) Well damn, that wasn't bad.

I dunno that I'd say I'm impressed, but it's pretty clearly a big step forward for Eva Marie. She's always looked absolutely hopeless out there. This video suggest she might have a non-TD future with the company.

I don't see the problem with Eva Marie trying to actually improve in the ring.

Eva Marie was never a great wrestler by any means, but was a blank slate.

As far as making her a Sunny-like manager or heel: That'd be all well and good, but unfortunately...there's "bad acting." There's "bad acting- for pro wrestling."

Then, there's a level of bad acting that bypasses 'acting', 'pro wrestling', 'dinner theatre', 'porno', and 'school play'.  A level of bad acting which can only be described as the type of bad acting that occurs during comedies, where the joke is "look how bad this actor is".

That's how Eva Marie acts. She acts- seriously- like how a comedy would make it clear how bad an actor is as a joke.

Considering that? Yeah, let's see if Eva Marie can actually learn to put on a match, because there's no way she's getting through angles with that to her name.

All that video showed me is that Brian Kendrick is pretty f'n great at making other wrestlers look good.

That Eva Marie video reminds me of when TNA tried to push Christy Hemme as a serious wrestler being trained by AJ Styles.  That didn't work out too well.

With Eva Marie, there could be something special there, because the sort of heat she could get is off the charts. I think in order to make it happen, though, someone would really have to clue her in and then I'd worry that the second she actually gets it in any sort of meaningful way that could be channeled, the sheer act of understanding what she's doing would defuse the heat.

Respect for Eva working on her craft.  If she can improve herself, then cool.

Acting ability's another story, but the Bellas have done okay for themselves.

I know you hate it but Turn It Up is amazing

EDIT - I feel like I am watching the Wreck It Ralph credits every time I listen to it.

But I am a known rube

Former WWE writer Kevin Eck explains the Bellas turn and a whole lot more in two sentences:

During my time on the WWE creative team, we actually were told that there really are no babyfaces or heels in the Divas division. It was strongly implied that the Divas are all just a bunch of catty chicks, most of whom are mentally unstable.

Progress, WWE-style.  Before Give Divas a Chance, they would have all been mentally unstable.

*sigh*.........This is another one of those things that makes me wonder why I bother with this company.
