RIPPA Posted December 31, 2014 Author Posted December 31, 2014 I can't even begin to explain how bad the Bruce Allen press conference was. I am giddy
Cole Miner Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Jason Reid is going to be a favorite for people once they watch that press conference. Any hint of optimism Redskins fans had going into the offseason is already gone. Playoffs haven't even started yet. What a disaster of a press conference.
RIPPA Posted December 31, 2014 Author Posted December 31, 2014 The man actually said "The Redskins are winning off the field" You can't make this stuff up 1

Cole Miner Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 First thing I did when this was over was search for the name of the guy that committed suicide during a press conference here in Pennsylvania in the 80s. R.Budd Dwyer. Closest thing I could think of as a comparison. Redskins were at least smart enough to disable comments.
EdA Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 He inherited his entire defense and offensive line. He's an average coach that has made the same type of boneheaded personnel decisions as other average coaches. He inherited a team with insane amounts of talent. It says more about Singletary that he went 6-10 with that squad than it does about Harbaughs abilities. And don't bother with bringing up a decades worth of records, it makes no sense. They were different teams with different players. While there is something to be said about Harbaugh coming in after the Niners restocked with talent thanks to good drafts. If talent does all that, why the fuck hasn't Marvin Lewis won a playoff game in Cincy yet?

This is probably the easiest playoff game to win in the AFC this year.
glfpunk Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Don't know. I'm not saying that coaching doesn't matter because it does. That 9ers team talent wise was one of if not the best in the league. I don't attribute all of it's success to Harbaugh.

They are too lazy, cheap and incompetent to dump him and the fucking ginger and make a play at a SB before it all falls apart. Sometimes the devil you know...
Craig H Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Jed York: "Okay, our standard will be, ‘Hey, lets just have a seven- or eight-win season this year,’ you know. That’d be good." What a piece of shit. How Murphy wasn't just like, "You know what, fuck you, and fuck you for also sandbagging this franchise" I don't know. I almost feel bad for Niners and Tim and anyone else here who is a Niners fan because that's some bullshit. Then again, my two NFL teams are a dumpster fire in Chicago and a team in Indy owned by an even bigger piece of shit. 1

Burgundy LaRue Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 If Marvin doesn't win this weekend, he should be fired. This is probably the easiest playoff game to win in the AFC this year. Get back in the AFC South cellar and keep the Titans company, Cat Boy.

Fuck that noise. I've described a couple times why those are my two favorite teams and sometimes it's more trouble than it's worth, like when both teams suck or do completely boneheaded things. Oh, ok, yeah, in that sense I have none.
dogwelder Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 The man actually said "The Redskins are winning off the field" You can't make this stuff up Well, they are getting a sweet deal from VA for having training camp in Richmond... Really, though, it just shows how incompetent Bruce Allen is. Ignoring the name controversy (and, like I've said before, I'll wait until everything gets settled in court for that), I can't think of anything off the field that they've done. They're certainly not as visible as the Wiz or the Caps for stuff like that. I don't know...maybe there's something in the family since George Jr. said some idiotic stuff in the past too. It really would have been good if Snyder had brought back Casserly like some of the DC media wanted him to do, but it's too late for that now. The only hope Skins fans have is that the backlash from the press conference will be big enough that Allen will get the hint and step down. Otherwise, don't be shocked if Gruden doesn't make it through his second year, especially if he doesn't have any input into the DC search...
Death From Above Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Buffalo's coach just released himself? Why? Seems weird unless he thinks he has something better lined up.
dogwelder Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Also, it's hilarious how the players are defending Haz when, as many have pointed out, there has never been a time when Haz hasn't had a top 10 defense since his first year in New Orleans. His years in Washington: 2010: 31st in Yds, 21st in Pts 2011: 13, 21 2012: 28, 22 2013: 18 30 2014: 20, 29 If the defense is happy with those numbers, it's really time to get rid of EVERYONE.
Gonzo Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Doug Marrone has opted out of his contract and stepped down as the head coach of the Buffalo Bills, per Adam Schefter. Can honestly say I didn't see that coming.
BrianS81177 Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Wow. That's too bad, I think he was starting to turn them around a bit.

Gonzo Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Also per Schefter, the Jets are the favorites to land Marrone now that he's left Buffalo. And Frank Reich is the favorite to take over in Buffalo.
odessasteps Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 They mentioned on the radio that Marroneisfrom the Bronx, fwiw.
dogwelder Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 ESPN also says that Marrone gets the full 2015 base salary of $4 million without any offset language that he was going to get anyway.
Cristobal Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Damn. No wonder he cut out. Buffalo shot themselves in the foot if that's true.
Josh Mann Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 *cues Rex Ryan's music* DID SOMEBODY SAY FOOT? Him with that defense is a scary thought. 2
