Guest Stefanie Without Stefanie Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Chris Cooley expressed that he was thinking about trying to get back into the NFL and Schefter just tweeted that the Cards have interest in signing him Wouldn't he need to dislodge himself from Dan Snyder's sphincter first?
hammerva Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Just goes to show you how far people will go to get away from Steve Czaban.
RIPPA Posted July 23, 2015 Author Posted July 23, 2015 Earl Thomas tells Ed Werder that he won't be ready for the start of camp and that he might still miss the start of the season
cwoy2j Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Just goes to show you how far people will go to get away from Steve Czaban. I like Czaban but can't stand that fucking guy Solly or whoever. He's their resident "look at me, I hate everything and try to be witty" guy who knows jackshit about sports.
Dolfan in NYC Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 The NFL has changed the Dez Bryant rule. It's no longer the "receiver must make a move common to the game", it's now the receiver "must remain upright long enough to demonstrate that he is clearly a runner" OR "must maintain control until after initial contact with the ground". I look forward to 50 conversations over the next season with me explaining what it takes to 'clearly be a runner'. (Which according to Mike Pereira, head of NFL Officials, makes Dez Bryant's play clearly incomplete. Which, he is completely wrong about.) 1
BobbyWhioux Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Good to see the NFL rulebook is still dedicated to honoring the memory of Dusty Rhodes. 1
Death From Above Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 NFL has so many rules that openly disqualify it from being classified as football at this point, it's a miracle any of us bother to watch it at all.

(Which according to Mike Pereira, head of NFL Officials, makes Dez Bryant's play clearly incomplete. Which, he is completely wrong about.) I agree with Pereira. I didn't think it was a completion under the old rules and I don't think it's a completion under the new rules. To "clearly be a runner", you gotta have your legs under you at some point. Stumbling to the ground and reaching out doesn't make you a runner.
Dolfan in NYC Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Taking two steps forward seems like establishing yourself as a runner in my book.
Tabe Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Taking two steps forward seems like establishing yourself as a runner in my book. He was falling not running. Put another way - could Dez have possibly remained on his feet? No? Not a runner.
muhammedboehm Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Id also like to see the reverse angle so we can see the ball once his back is to the camera.
Kuetsar Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Good to see the NFL rulebook is still dedicated to honoring the memory of Dusty Rhodes. I think Dusty was more logical and consistent. . . . . 1
Kuetsar Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 The "Why your team sucks" series have begun this week on Deadspin. . . . 1
Josh Mann Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 The "Why your team sucks" series have begun this week on Deadspin. . . .Dan Snyder really IS Lord Farquaad.Oh, and the Dolphins don't even wait until the start of camp to cut Josh Freeman.
Ryan Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Can they convert him to Safety? That's what the UW Badgers did with their, uh, secondary QB who only ever ran the ball and couldn't pass for shit last I checked.
