RIPPA Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I am creating this now because I won't really be around this afternoon and I think guys will be fired before the 4 pm games are finished. Heck - at this point the Niners would be better sending anyone not named Harbaugh out to coach the final game. Plus I have a feeling I will have lots of humorous Skins news to laugh at.
dogwelder Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Plus I have a feeling I will have lots of humorous Skins news to laugh at. If they for some ungodly reason keep Haz I'll probably laugh with you.
Gonzo Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Falcons have hired a consultant to find head coaching candidates "in the event" that they fire Mike Smith, which is kind of like hiring a divorce attorney "in the event" you want to get a divorce. Coaches either rumored to be on the way out or on the hot seat: Rex Ryan (Jets) - Reportedly cleaned out his desk already Jim Harbaugh (Niners) - May or may not already have a deal in place with Michigan Mike Smith (Falcons) - Might be saved by a win today, if only temporarily Ron Rivera (Panthers) - See "Mike Smith" Tony Sparano (Raiders) - It's the Raiders. . .who the hell knows what they're doing? Marc Trestman (Bears) - Chicago may or may not have already made their decision Tom Coughlin (Giants) - I doubt it, but you never know, I guess.
Brian Fowler Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Reports all over the place that Michigan and Harbaugh is a done deal. I have misplaced my pants. 1
RIPPA Posted December 28, 2014 Author Posted December 28, 2014 The Giants usual late season rally has put the ball firmly back in Couglin's court. I don't think he decides to retire but it wouldn't totally shock me. There were grumblings that Jerry Reese might be shown the door but the most recent draft class is really good and is producing (heck - Odell alone is enough to get him another year) and the Maras like the work he is doing.
Kevin Wilson Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Over in Buffalo, I don't expect any changes but anytime there is a new owner you wonder if they want their own people. There have also been rumors all year that Marrone and Whaley don't get along but I still expect everyone to be back one more year.
GojiColin Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 So with the Giants not really making any big changes on the administrative side, do they just go all in during free agency to try and be competitive?
RIPPA Posted December 28, 2014 Author Posted December 28, 2014 So with the Giants not really making any big changes on the administrative side, do they just go all in during free agency to try and be competitive? There biggest offseason decision is what to do with JPP? Of course - it isn't really a decision. They need to let him hit the bricks. He thinks he is worth like a billion dollars. He is not 2
dogwelder Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 So apparently the Jets contacted Rex Ryan's agent...to gauge the interests of another of the agent's clients for the Jets job. 1

He is not I'm sure the Raiders will be happy to overpay him
RIPPA Posted December 28, 2014 Author Posted December 28, 2014 Speaking of the Raiders Jay Glazer is saying that Harbaugh and the Niners are definitely done and it appears that Jim's choice is between Michigan and the Raiders And if the Raiders don't get Harbaugh then the growing support is to retain Tony Soparano
Brian Fowler Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Be a God at Michigan, or be fired in three years in Oakland. I know I'm as biased as the day is long, but how is that a choice?
RIPPA Posted December 28, 2014 Author Posted December 28, 2014 I think the thinking is that his family REALLY likes Cali. So it's more a choice of living in LA or Michigan
Niners Fan in CT Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Harbaugh was out the door before the season began. He was atrocious this year. He'll do very well at Michigan. I'm ready to see who the Niners have in mind.
dogwelder Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 ESPN's now reporting that the Jets may wait to fire Ryan until they hire a new GM. Of course, Rex isn't happy with that.
Brian Fowler Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 With the risk of a biased media here as well, word on the Michigan streets is press conference Tuesday tho announce the homecoming.
Jenalysis Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Rivera is not on the hot seat at all, even with a loss today. Only year 2, and he had .500 talent at best this year, 7-8-1 or 6-9-1 isn't a disaster. Panthers FO is a mess, but even they're not dumb enough to fire a fairly popular coach in year 2.
RIPPA Posted December 28, 2014 Author Posted December 28, 2014 Rex Ryan has told CBS that he will not accept a D-Cordinator job next year
Vincey Greene Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 This is Rivera's fourth season. I actually completely disagree with you, I don't particularly see any reason to stay with any of their coaching staff. Too many bad calls.
Brian Fowler Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 The previous gm put them in a terrible cap position. 1
The Nature Boy Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Why haven't the Jets tried to reach out to Harbaugh? It'd probably be in vain but you know, gotta try something. And how good can Harbaugh possibly be at Michigan next year? He still has Brady Hoke's recruits.
EVA Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Why haven't the Jets tried to reach out to Harbaugh? It'd probably be in vain but you know, gotta try something. And how good can Harbaugh possibly be at Michigan next year? He still has Brady Hoke's recruits. In his first year at Stanford, he took a 40+ point underdog to LA and beat a Top 5 USC team.
Brian Fowler Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Hoke consistently brought in top ten or fifteen classes. I think espn had them third a couple years ago. Talent is not the issue.
