Raziel
Metro faces the Cosmos in the Open Cup tomorrow at Hofstra. If we don't take this seriously we will lose, which is exactly what I'm afraid will happen. Looking at the lineup put out, that's exactly what's happening.

sabremike
Only thing good tonight was our fans (particularly the use of flares). Everything else was a fucking disgrace. We didn't give a fuck and got HAMMERED by an NASL side. I can't emphasis that point enough, this was as one sided a game as you will ever see. Actually I have one more positive thing that happened: was able to go to the Colliseum and get tickets to the upcoming WWE house show without paying Ticket$cammer fees. ReiseReise
Any chance he's taking a fall for Blatter? Accidentally clicked "report" on this post, sorry for my stupidity. Tried to abort it and hope I caused no problems to anyone (whether it was cubbymark or board administration). I think to a degree he is the scapegoat for something bigger, to a degree he is involved himself. German media reported that after Russia´s and Qatar´s bids were successful, Beckenbauer stepped down from his FIFA duties and established some business affairs with companies from both countries. That´s definetly more than suspicious. If he was involved in whatever caused the World Cups to go to the countries, it´s very likely he wasn´t the only one. A big name getting shafted, even if it might just be temporarily, lends some credibility to the whole ethics commission ballony in the eye of the general public. If a few bigger names take the fall, the commission can claim that FIFA gotrid of a few individuals the organization is cleansed from corruption and all that. Maybe they can make it look as if only very few were in involved into a questionable process and that, overall, both countries got the Cups according to FIFA rules and guidelines. Just like they always claim there are never any problems with the building process regarding stadiums and infrastructure when they have World Cups in countries who have neither. The ethics commission does claim they sent their questions in German from what I heard in the news. Apparently, one of the two sides is lying. Or both are, not sure. Would be interesting to see what comes out of it.

Pete
Costel Pantilimon to Sunderland on a free transfer. Excellent bit of business for him and the Cats... there's no reason he can't be their number one.
Guest The Magnificent 7
Welcome back, John Collins. Assistant manager to Deila. Was a fantastic player. We'll be a fit side with Ronny's reputation and Collins suffering no fools in that regard whilst at Hibs. Of course it got him the sack there (well he resigned), but who's counting. He also got them a trophy, which if you look at the current state of Hibs was a small wonder.

Guest The Magnificent 7
They'd still win the league. Paper champions without their big brother to keep them in line. You're just gettting embarassing now. "Big Brother." Oh dear. I suppose Liverpool fans will just have to look at last season's final weeks capitulation and take it on the chin. Too bad you've taken it on the chin more times than Jenna Jameson. 20+ years now.

Guest The Magnificent 7
Man that Leeds hire is straight out of left field. Screams yes man all over for the new owner. They have to have been punished enough by now. I hope they eventually get it sorted. Cellino needs to follow my blueprint on FIFA 14.
Sky Blue Sam
Bradford City vs. Coventry City is the first game of the League One season. Let's hope for another 3-3, Sky Blue Sam. Good luck. Well, seeing as we've just replaced last years player of the season in goal with an untried 21yr old from the academy, I can easily see you scoring at least 3 ;-) Should be a good opening game, assuming we bring in some of the players we're linked with. Should be making the journey up for that one, so hope to see a decent game.

Guest The Magnificent 7
Right after the Belgium - Russia match I flipped on BeIN and they had the Cordoba v. Las Palmas playoff final on. You have to try and catch the replay of the closing moments. Las Palmas were all set to be promoted, but in the closing moments (91st minute or so) their fans started to pour over and climb down the stands and invade the pitch. The ref didn't know what the fuck to do. There was only 3 minutes of stoppage time, so while the police were clearing the fans as best they could (they were standing pitchside behind the goals) the match resumed in the 99th minute. The announcer at this point is calling the Las Palmas fans idiots and all sorts of other names, and openly rooting for Cordoba to score. It would be an away goal which would win Cordoba the tie. Sure enough in the last attack of the match in the 100th minute, the GK boots it deep, it's flicked to the left, Cordoba player gets a decent but tame shot off. Parried by the keeper, but a Cordoba player is steaming in to tap that fucker in. The traveling Cordoba fans can't believe their luck, the Las Palmas fans begin to fight each other, the ref blows for full time and they get a police escort down the stairs. The Cordoba players run off, too as there is chaos on the pitch. They are hugging and tackling each other in the tunnel. Some Las Palmas players are disconsolate, this one player is going after is own fans and is mega pissed. Fucking nuts and hilarious. Cordoba promoted to La Liga. Sky Blue Sam
He's right though, it's been that way for a while now. Just look at Giggs missing Wales friendlies constantly through "injuries" or Scholes retiring from international football early to help prolong his Man U career. It's not just the players, fans care far more about club football too.
Raziel
Watching the Portugal/US game today makes me wonder what the Hell Giggs was thinking giving Nani 3 more years. Mayhaps Van Gaal can remedy that.
