MADCAP
While flipping through channels, what are your five movies that will make you put the remote down. Mine are: -Platoon: I don't really do alot of war movies, but this one is my favorite complete war movie. The first hour of Full Metal Jacket is awesome, but I tend to lose interest after that. I still think Berenger should've won an Oscar for his role as Sgt. Barnes. -The Social Network: Maybe it's the snappy banter, maybe it's Jesse Eisenbergs' detatched portrayal. -Major League: Just the perfect guy movie. -Empire Strikes Back: I'm a former SW nerd, and this was the best of them -Project X: I'll probably get slayed for this one, but I fucking love this movie. The actors suck, the plot is flimsy, but damn if it isn't fun!
EVA
Can't think of 5 off the top of my head, but THE GODFATHER and HALLOWEEN suck me in every damn time I come across them, despite the fact that I've seen them a zillion times. I have to actively avoid AMC in October, because I know I'm going to lose countless hours watching HALLOWEEN over and over again.

Elsalvajeloco
- Léon: The Professional (Saw it the other day. Stansfield is still fucking awesome.) - Raging Bull (which keeps rotating with Casino and Goodfellas as the obligatory black person Scorsese pick) - The Godfather: Part II (which has replaced Part I) - Platoon ("You all take a good look at this lump of shit. Remember what it looks like. You fuck up in a firefight and I goddamn guarantee you a trip out of the bush, in a body bag!") - Fargo (just because I use to watch it everytime TNT played it in the late 90s/early 00s) If those five movies came on consecutively, I would legitimately take a day off from work and risk losing my job. Sublime
Coming to America - Quite possibly the movie I have watched more times than any other Snatch Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back - certainly not the greatest movie but it makes me laugh everytime Rushmore - the easiest Wes Anderson movie for me to slip into, I always feel a need to watch the others from the beginning. Finding Nemo
keith_h
Terminator 2 Shawshank Redemption Braveheart Heat The Other Guys - the odd one on my list, but it's on FX all the time and I always find myself stopping and watching the rest of the movie. J.T.
I would watch Heat every time it came on if it weren't a billion hours long. If it is on and the action is up to the bank robbery scene, I'm solid.
RIPPA
Major League and Shawshank are the two that immediately came to mind for me. My Big Fat Greek Wedding is another - shut up. Serenity is with a certain caveat. It's only if I catch it right at the beginning and I only watch to a certain point - then I become sad
Brian Fowler
- Big Trouble In Little China - Layer Cake - Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels - The Dark Knight (sorry Brian...) - Alien No reason to apologize on that. Very good movie. Now, if you had included the word "Rises" at the end, I'd call you a liar.
Brian Fowler
I own Big Lebowski on dvd. Yet I will watch the censored, commercial break filled tv version for at least 40 minutes if I find it on tv. The Godfather is another one that if it's on, I'll at least watch some of it. Tim Burton's Batman.
John Austin
Gotta agree on Major League too for me. Just have to put that remote down when that's on. Bloodsport, I can't count how many times I've seen it in TBS but I'll still always stop and watch and quote Bolo Yeung's lines. Field of Dreams is another, I'm not a big baseball guy but I'm a sucker for a good baseball movie. Die Hard, especially if its on a non premium channel, the language edits are always funny. Lately I've seen Face/Off on TV a lot lately love that one too.

supremebve
Any Eddie Murphy movie before Boomerang\ I need to watch Golden Child again because Tywin Lannister is Sweet Brother Numsie. That is probably top 3 most rewatchable bad movies of all time. It is completely and totally ridiculous, the special effects are terrible, but Eddie Murphy is on his game and that is all you really need. caley
The Dark Knight Rises: I love this movie, don't understand the backlash against it, I think it's quite easily the best Nolan movie front-to-back. Every time it's on, I'll watch a bit: the return of Batman, the first fight with Bane, the second fight with Bane, the ending. I just find it endlessly watchable. And I'm not even that big of a superhero fan. Hot Rod: This is the ideal movie to come into early on, halfway, three-quarters through, because there's always good jokes to come. There's not stretch of this movie that's not funny. Happy Gilmore: Like the above, it's pretty much funny from beginning to end, so if you happen to stumble across it before Happy becomes a golfer, it's funny; if it's after he turns pro, it's funny; if it's during the feud with Shooter, its funny; and if it's during the celebrity pro-am, it's REALLY funny. Gets bonus points for also being really funny when edited: "I pieces of scum like you for breakfast" "You eat pieces of scum?" Lean on Me: I don't see this on as often anymore, but, man, every time it was on I would watch it. The Tree of Life: This has become somewhat of a running joke between me, my family, and friends, because if it is on the movie channels, I will end up finding it and watching a portion of it. I'd have this as a Top 10 movie of all-time, personally. I love it that much.

jstout
I really don't think I can think of five off the top of my head, but all I wanna say is I'm the 21st post and the first to mention "Blazing Saddles"? C'mon.
mco543
Predator 1/2, They Live, Slap Shot, Eddie, and Rocky IV but there are a bunch of movies that if I come across them late at night I'll end up staying up to watch them.

Swift
There probably aren't any movies where I'd sit down and watch the whole thing. However, there are movies where if a specific scene is coming up, I'll sit and watch. Casino Royale If the parkour scene is happening, I'm watching. Terminator 2 The truck/motorcycle chase. Usually, I'll end up watching most of the movie though. The Matrix Not any particular scene. Any of it is good. Jurassic Park The T-Rex scene is one of my all-time favourite set pieces. Cool Runnings Ok, I probably would watch all of this.
