BloodyChamp Posted September 16 Posted September 16 You can’t own anybody any more than Collins just owned him wow.
Lawful Metal Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Texans win!!! super sloppy play on both sides. Hip drop tackles, Azeez punching random dudes not even in the game, Caleb sacked 7 times, and Nico Collins hit a Jon Jones style spinning back elbow while scoring a touchdown. not quite sold on generational talent Caleb.

Canty has been extra aggressive and negative about Tua before the concussion, mostly because of the contract he got and for whatever reason being against Tua being more outspoken and showing confidence in his ability to help the team win which baffled me as he's always been about players getting paid. Smallmon picked a team then they circled back around and were doing bits based around “the home visit”. Smallmon was in Green Bay for the first time (?) this weekend. I dunno. I don’t dislike Smallmon -she seems likable and is very attractive - but I feel like she rarely has a distinctive viewpoint that adds to the show. I don’t dislike Unsportsmanlike but I’ve watched for the better part of a year and it has never hooked me. I felt m same way about Keyshawn, JWill and Max, but Keyshawn and JWill have some interesting viewpoints based on their playing days (I like Max Kellerman as a box of analyst, but the less said about his morning talk show, the better). 1

Gonzo Posted September 16 Posted September 16 When did Andy Dalton morph into a random Hemsworth brother? 4
Kevin Wilson Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Speaking of bad QBs, I've had the displeasure of watching most of the Broncos games the last two weeks and Bo Nix has to be one of the most not-ready rookies I've seen thrust into a starting role. I am sure there are a lot of factors, with Payton's complicated playbook not helping, but at this point he is actively bad and I don't know if "live reps" will make him better or he just needs practice/training away from our eyes. He was a massive reach as it was, but he's not just a NFL-level quarterback yet. I'm not a fan of New England but they are doing right by Maye, teams needs to stop forcing situations just because they used a high pick. Sometimes you *have* to, like an injury or something, but if your team isn't making the playoffs anyway then do what is best for the player's development. 1

Yeah, it's EXCEPTIONALLY rare that guys are ready to go immediately. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any #1 overall guys who were good from week 1. Stroud wasn't #1 but he was ready but the list is really, really short.

I jokingly text a friend that they should have at least inquired about Jameis from Clevaland, although, they may be looking at him as more viable than Deshaun before long. Edit: you can tell that I did not watch much of the Jags/Browns yesterday. Edited September 16 by Chaos

I was listening to a podcast before the season, and someone tried to say something about Bo Nix playing so much college football is a positive, because he has so much experience. That is one way to say, "this guy was in college forever, because no one thought he was good enough to draft him." 1
Shadow Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Step 1 to recovery is admitting that you have a problem. Bryce is a gigantic problem that had to be dealt with. I'm already looking at the next crop of QBs, but you owe it to the team to evaluate whether the Panthers are truly dogshit or only mediocre. Either way next week can't possibly be any worse than the last 18 or so. Carolina deserves every bit of the jokes and ridicule that they are getting now, but as a fan, I've stuck it out this long, hopefully this is the start of change. Or Tepper will Tepper...
CSC Posted September 16 Posted September 16 The whole “Bryce is our QB” after the game and then “I looked at the tape and we’re going with Andy” the next day already reeks of Teppering. I’m not mad at it - Bryce is clearly not ready (I’m gonna grit my teeth and choose to go with that optimistic view as opposed to where my brain wants to go). It couldn’t possibly be worse. 1

Now, to be fair to Nix, they've said the same things about Jayden Daniels since they were both 5 year starters in college.
