RIPPA
Because of remaining schedules - it is gonna be pretty much impossible for whoever wins the NFC East to have more than 6 wins

Cowboys still have a chance! Remember the last time the NFC East sucked this much, it beat the unbeatable New England Patriots in the Superbowl. 2
hammerva
I saw someone on Twitter where Washington has a 5 times better chance of making the playoffs than getting the 1st pick in the draft. Washington is now 2-7, Tells you all you need to know about the NFC East

Washington is now 2-7, Tells you all you need to know about the NFC East Here is the data Quote And what’s worse (or better depending upon your outlook on the team), Rivera’s squad has a better shot at the playoffs than the top pick. According to Football Outsiders, Washington has a 12.5% chance of winning the NFC East and making the playoffs. And FiveThirtyEight gives them a 15% chance. And for the No. 1 pick: Washington has just a 4.2% chance at scoring that prize, per Football Outsiders. The New York Jets (64.2% chance), Jacksonville Jaguars (19.8%), and Dallas Cowboys (5.2%) are the three teams with better odds at landing the top pick after Week 10. So to be fair - it is more making numbers look good in your favor since Washington's #1 pick chances are so low because they are 2 games behind the Jets who are historically terrible. (And then you add in the Jags not winning since Week 1 so that is two teams to jump) So while the NFC East is bad - they aren't New York Jets bad
Brian Fowler
If the entire division loses every non-division game remaining, and the team with the worse record wins every intradivision game still on the schedule, the Iggles would win the division at 4-11-1. Needless to say, I'm rooting for that outcome. And can't wait to see what good team gets left out of the postseason. 1
Dewar
If a five-win NFC East team gets into the playoffs over Thomas Brady and His Buccaneers, this would be the greatest season in the history of the sport. 1

Right now it would be Chicago. But the funniest, most "how the fuck can they let this happen?!?!?!!!!1" outcome is whoever ends up third in the stacked NFC West.
RIPPA
Lets be honest - there is already an extra playoff team in each conference. The "good" team that gets left out is gonna be 9-7 max If the playoffs started today - the team on the outside looking in is the 5-4 Bears. No one besides Jae will be sad about that (Oh and that Bears team currently is the only team above .500 out of the playoffs. AFter them its Lions, Niners, Vikings, Falcons, Giants, etc...) RIPPA
Ironically - its the AFC were teams will get boned. There are currently TWO 6-3 teams outside the playoffs (the Titans and Browns) Basically the AFC North has done a lot of stat padding thanks to play the NFC East
Dolfan in NYC
Miami has waived RB Jordan Howard. Since he wasn't playing and was a healthy scratch on Sunday... makes sense.
Chaos
NFL should probably implement a rule that states "if your division winner cannot get to at least "x" wins, then your division is eliminated and we make the top wild card the 4th seed. What should that total be? 6 wins? 7 wins?
RIPPA
And the owners and NFLPA would never agree to it Because eventually your division is gonna be the shitty one and owners aren't gonna give up that extra revenue nor will the players

TBH the team that didn't manage to squeak in has the same chance to make it deep in the playoffs as the terrible team that did make it in. You're just both fighting for the chance to have a likely first round exit. I mean if you're the low team on the totem pole, your division record probably wasn't that great anyway.
