However a Native American group pushed back on it because the location was on top of an old burial ground.

People do realize at this stage that things have been dying for billions of years, and literally everywhere is a burial ground, right?

He'll be Fitzmagic for the first 3 games, maybe 4, and then as per usual will turn into Shitzpatrick.

I always like Picks-Hat-Trick, since he likes throwing them that way.

No that’s not how this works. A squirrel dying from starvation in the woods and decomposing doesn’t make it a burial ground.  A burial ground in this context is an intentional place with significance for people to bury their dead.

It wasn’t meant to be the monolith from 2001, but if you stun someone with a complete lack of insight you might expect some insight coming your way.

Do you guys fucking mind.   Today's probably going to be a busy day for this thread.

(EDIT -- I thought this was the baseball thread, but still, the point stands.)

Nick Buoniconti, Hall of Fame member of the perfect '72 Dolphins and longtime host of Inside the NFL, has died.

He was 78.  Judging from this article from two years ago about how bad his cognitive decline had gotten because of repeated head trauma.... well, I hope he's found peace.

I had forgotten Magary is going to get to the Packers earlier than average this year, even earlier than last year I believe.

Well it seems like you are trying to link to something within the article (at least based on your phrasing) - and the link you posted certainly won't embed (look at that weird gibberish at the end of it)

If you where trying to link to one of the tweets or instagram posts - you need the link for that, not the article

Yesterday the Lions WYTS was posted, and not a word from @Brian Fowler (aka ZODIAC MOTHERFUCKER) to be seen. Is this what growing up feels like?

Lonnie Johnson, Jr., a rookie on the Packers was kicked out of practice for...   well, this, roughly:

Jace Sternberger on the ground there had to be taken off to be put in concussion protocol.  This was during a non-contact drill, so naturally this led to a rumble.

AFTER the rumble, he smashed someone again!  Bill O'Brien then sent him home.

Updates on hold outs

ESPN reports this morning that Zeke plans out holding out the entire season unless he gets a new deal

It is now 50/50 that Trent Williams ever plays for Washington again (since his issues go beyond money)

And Jadeveon Clowney plans on reporting to the Texans after the third preseason game

Ezekiel Elliot is the most important offensive player on that team, he shouldn't play a down until they extend his contract.  This is the season he has the most leverage, if he waits until next year it is actually against NFL rules to renegotiate.

I'm willing to bet Trent Williams will retire before playing for Washington again, he has legitimate reasons to never trust them or their medical staff again.

Jadeveon Clowney is the most underrated player in the league, he's about as destructive to an offense as anyone in the league and everybody still thinks he sucks.  If you had to choose him or J.J. Watt at this point in their career, you should pick Clowney 100% of the time.  Somehow he was ranked #63 on the NFL Top 100 list despite being a hybrid DE/OLB who is lauded as a pass rusher, but is even better against the run.  He could probably make the pro bowl at every position in the front seven, he's legitimately that good and that versatile.  That versatility is also why he doesn't always put up monster numbers.  If he just lined up in a 3-point stance, and focused on rushing the passer he'd probably get 15+ sacks a year, but they have him playing as an inside rusher, an outside rusher, an outside linebacker, and an inside linebacker, and he's a force wherever they put him...and the Texans have decided to nickel and dime him.

My favorite offseason story is Antonio Brown becoming the new age Rickey Henderson and giving himself frostbite.

The Texans are morons.

I love how the Astros and Rockets have top tier GMs and the Texans don’t even have one.

Let’s also not let it slip that the Texans released yet another 3rd round pick and never bothered to draft or sign another RB just in case Foreman didn’t recover fully from his Achilles injury or never learned to “practice” the Bill O’Brien way.

More Taiwan Jones? More undrafted rookies? Just run Lamar Miller up the gut 30 times a game.

Sorry Raiders. Texans are the worst run franchise.
