Grand Theft Auto V Talk.

I blame Mass Effect and the whole shields thing.  Fresh loves to go in with reckless abandon and armor will give you a second chance at survival in this game, but it is not like you can survive sustained hits even if you have Super Heavy Armor and a shotgun can obliterate you even while wearing armor if the guy is point blank.

NPC snipers can also kill you with a single headshot which makes body armor a moot point.

It would also be nice if Fresh would embrace the fact that the waypoint is usually located in the middle of enemies and just driving into the midst of them gives them the opportunity to fill you and your vehicle full of holes. :)

Twice now I've failed the Titan mission because somebody blows up the tractor trailer with a rocket, making it impossible to get the titan out of the hanger.

I did the mission with a bunch of pubs and someone blew up the Trailer.  I thought it was game over, but our designated pilot managed to taxi the Titon out of the hanger onto the runway and get it in the air.  I was impressed.

So impressed that I nearly got my ass blasted by the Merryweather guys that respawn in the hangar.

I did that mission last week with Dolfan and somebody else from the crew, jstout or Novacain I think.  We got to the hanger ok, but it quickly became Dolfan on his own, with us reduced to shouting "behind you!"  when somebody tried to creep up on him.  He managed to pull it off.  The best part was his surprise when he realized he had done the last 10 minutes of the mission solo.

That was really fun.  I just found a spot along the roof of the hanger during a lull in the action, which is good because it's a long climb up.  It was a long fight and fortunately I was high enough that the helicopter was basically at eye level.  The pilot pulled the copter near me, I took half a second to realize what was happening and mid-turn to the gunman on the side, I unloaded the auto-shotgun in his face.  And then picking off the seemingly endlessly spawning security was also fun.  Sticky bombs became very handy.

That's definitely the most fun mission I've had so far online.

The trick is to push the trailer wreckage with the nose of the plane. If you try to go around it and you don't have the room, your wing'll get sheared off.

You got a better pilot than I did.  Somebody tried to get the titan out both times, but neither one worked.  The one last night at least got it out of the hanger, but it was on fire when he left.  Wasn't a shock when he failed to get it to the airfield up north.

Well that wasn't one of my prouder moments. Joined a random job with three others and got Los Santos Connection. It said "ambush the drug deal" so I drove over there and, forgetting this was the mission you needed to get in the vehicle for, promptly blew up the drug dealers with an RPG...including the vehicle we were supposed to take. Oops.

We have had our share of mishaps with that mission. Much like the opening scene of TDK where the Joker's gang double crosses each other during the bank robbery, Mark and Fresh personally executed half of the members of our own team during the Ambush The Drug Deal part (which used up all of our Team Lives in record time. Too much dependence on Assisted Aim. ) and then got themselves perished, leaving me to finish the mission on my own.

WHICH I DID~!

During the final part of the shootout at the airport, I took the high ground to deal with the cartel guys in the hangar and then went outside to settle up with the attack chopper. One sniper rifle bullet through the brain case of the pilot and I was flying the spare Buzzard to Madrazzo's to get my fucking payday.

Most people think you actually have to drive the vehicle you take the GPS coordinates from to the scrapyard, but you don't. You just have to make sure the truck doesn't get blown up during your attack. .

Much to Fresh's glee, he found out that if you hit your enter / exit vehicle button when you are near the back of the Declasse Granger, you can ride along outside the SUV while holding onto the roof rails SWAT style.

Now wait a damn minute, this was not our fault. The game was glitching out and causing us to target our allies as if they were enemies.

Finished the Epsilon missions last night. How quickly can/will i spend that $2m?

Since you guys were playing ME3, i didnt bother waiting around, given i had magazine stuff to do.

If you haven't done the first assassination mission for Lester, wait and invest it - you will double it.

Otherwise I would just hold on to it, just use it to max out Michael's car and for ammo money (being able to buy as many grenades/rockets as you can carry will help a lot) and maybe buy some businesses.  Wait until you do the full run of Lester's assassinations (and subsequent investments) before you buy the big businesses and sports cars - I did that with Michael and "only" ended up with about $150 million left versus Franklin's $1.5 billion.

There's no jetpack in the game. The UFO stuff is a very tiny part of single player, basically you come across a guy who asks you to search for the parts and that's about it.

There is an alien frozen in the river under the bridge you cross when Michael, Trevor, & Brad are fleeing the police in the Intro.  I know because I ran off of the fucking thing by accident and caught a glimpse of it before I got the Mission Failed screen for leaving the escape route.

I've seen that too.  I was just saying that there's no big mission arc or anything.  They just actually put in some of the stuff like UFOs and Bigfoot that was rumored to be in San Andreas.  There's definitely no jetpack or flyable UFO in the game (at least at this point).

Oh - and I finally hit level 50 last night.  Only took 78 hours... ugh.

It may have been a glitch but I have seen issues before in game with Assisted Aim..  GTA5 does not the option to suspend Friendly Fire.  if it did, then hackers could manipulate the code to give themselves God mode in Deathmatches, so the game is better off with everyone being mortal and vulnurable.  The best you can manage is Passive Mode where you can't be attacked, but you can't attack anyone either.

Assisted Aim (ie. holding down on the left trigger and "locking on.") targets the closest person in your field of view whether it be friend or foe, which is why I use Free Aim if you guys are in my FOV.  And "FOV" is important.  Your closest enemy could be behind you but Assisted Aim will not cause you to swivel around to sight down on your closest target.  AA only locks onto the closest target in your playspace (ie. what you can "see")

Mark has shot me at least three times and has blown me up with a grenade via Assisted Aim because I was the closest target but not the closest enemy..

I'm sure it was fun up until the time you were making your car horn sound the beep of death.

Well Mark has also killed me multiple times by running me over so it isn't like AA is the only problem

I took out 4 of those fucks in my car without dying last time.

I cannot wait until you unlock the grenade launcher and the MG so that "heavy weapon specialist of the crew" does not have to always mean, "I hit dudes with my personal vehicle."

Then again, perhaps I should be very afraid of the prospect of you having access to ranged explosives and a weapon with a high cyclic rate.

Well I guess it is a ME3 night then

I am all in.  I will be on my way home as soon as I get out of this damned After-Action Review meeting for the previous exercise.

That's it, I'm getting my personal vehicle modded with explosives now.

Do not blow yourself up.  Dead fingers cannot pull triggers..  The crew needs you alive and beserk, not dead and inert.

Speaking of blowing yourself up, has anyone here ever successfully used a remote bomb or an ignition bomb against another player?  Whenever I watch WEAZEL when I am on a public server, I see most people on foot, using their own POV's, or rampaging in tanks.

Does the vehicle bomb trap ever work?  I would think not.
