MAY 2015 WRESTLING DISCCUSSION

Recommended Posts

Virgil is now on twitter @TheReal_Virgil and he is already heeling it up:

I am better than you. I have been part of it all and you aint shit. business inquiries [email protected] pay me and I will follow your sorry ass

This makes me regret giving Hasbro Virgil such a big push back in the day. He was just so versatile.

I saw Bob Ryder got a little salty with him on Twitter about something TNA related pretty recently. And again, I frequented 1Wrestling in my early internet days (I've told the story but that site is actually how I got smartened up as a kid), I liked him on WCW Live when I could get it-- but I will never, ever not associate him with  the phrase "beefy, ecstasy-addicted Abyss." I'm sorry, just won't happen.

What do people think Big Dave's tweet is about ?

Supposedly, Destination America's cancellation of TNA (in September) is about to become official (ie, public announcement of some sort).

Edit: And if TNA was as well-booked as Dave vs. TNA supporters, we might actually be watching TNA.

You're a liar! Destination America loves TNA and that's why they just recently visited with the creative team! They are in complete and total awe of the greatest wrestling promotion that has ever existed on this planet, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, and they wanted to see just how the magic happens.

Don't you remember that DA put out a press release saying how great TNA's ratings are!? That's obviously a sign that they are in love with them and want to have TNA babies forever and ever and NOT them trying anything possible to get someone, anyone, to buy ads during iMPACT.

Stop getting all your facts from D*v* M*ltz*r

Eric Bischoff, Jason Hervey, and Garret Bischoff have filed a breach of contract lawsuit against TNA Entertainment for unpaid money in the amount of $114,500.02. Prowrestling.net obtained a copy of the lawsuit that was filed on May 15, 2015 in Davidson County, Tennessee.

Hervey and Eric Bischoff are listed together under their company name of Bischoff Hervey Entertainment. They were hired on a "pay or play" basis, and claim TNA owes them $101,500 in unpaid money for January 2015 through March 2015. They are also seeking the cost of "entering this action, including reasonable attorney's fees." Hervey and Eric Bischoff served as executive producers for TNA and were given a base fee of $426,800 per year, which was payable in monthly installments.

Garret was originally part of BHE's first agreement with TNA. He signed a separate talent agreement on October 24, 2012, and claims that TNA owes him $13,000.02 in unpaid compensation for October 2014 through March 2015. Garret's deal included monthly compensation of $2,166.67 on a "play or pay basis" and an additional $500 for paid performances. Garret's contract with TNA expired on March 31, 2015.

The lawsuit states that TNA made payments in a timely manner through September 2014. BHE attorneys notified TNA on November 4, 2014 of a breach in the terms of the agreement for October pay, and advised that the company had 20 days to rectify the situation. A second notice was issued twenty days later notifying TNA that they had failed to cure the breach. TNA eventually issued payment of $101,500 "on or before January 1, 2015," according to the lawsuit. However, BHE is seeking that same amount of unpaid money for the final three months of their contract, which expired on March 31, 2015.

Eh. Gotta take the good with the bad.

That kind of attitude just leads to the facts of life.

Nah, he hasn't taken "the best" yet.

TNA Wrestling programming is being canceled in the United States for the second straight year as Destination America officials have made the decision to cancel Impact Wrestling and all other shows from the Nashville, Tennessee-based company. This is according to Dave Meltzer in this week's issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (published Wednesday).

It was noted to Meltzer that all TNA programming will cease to air on Destination America at the end of the third quarter of the year. This is roughly the last week of September, when the current television season ends. Key people at parent company Discovery Communications were informed of the decision.

Two major reasons were given for the cancellation. While Destination America officials considered the ratings for Impact Wrestling to be good, the numbers were not good enough to justify the cost of the programming. The other problem was that a number of the cable network's advertisers specifically did not want to advertise during Impact Wrestling.

The decision from Destination America was meant to be kept secret, quite like how officials from Spike kept secret publicly last year its decision to axe Impact Wrestling for months after the decision was made and reported. The public acknowledgment was expected to be made when the station reveals its 2015-16 television season prime time lineup with the launch of up front advertising.

Dixie Carter, President of TNA Wrestling, was aware of the decision early last week although it doesn't appear that most of the talent knew anything since word of this had not gotten around. Her knowledge of the cancellation may have played a part in Impact Wrestling moving to Wednesday, but that is uncertain. Carter didn't respond to any questions on the subject from Meltzer.

We noted earlier in the week via MMA/WWE source Front Row Brian that WWE Hall of Famer Tammy "Sunny" Sytch may have signed a deal to do pornographic movies with the Vivid adult entertainment company.

TMZ Sports reports that Sunny is close to signing a "monster porn contract" worth big bucks. Vivid apparently told TMZ that the two sides have spoken several times and a six-figure offer is on the table for her. The deal would not be a one-time thing as there would be more than one film for her.

Vivid boss Steve Hirsch said:

"After the tremendous success of Chyna, this makes total sense. Hoping we can work it out."

TMZ notes that the deal is "very close" to being signed and Sunny is prepared to start filming right away.

Bow chica bow bow.
