Technico Support
I thought it was a good show and probably the perfect balance between in ring action and skits. Killshot look decent too me. Isn't killshot from Baltimore? You're thinking of Rich Swann. Shane Strickland (Killshot) is from Tacoma and looks like Dumb Donald from Fat Albert in that mask.
Mistah Na1m4rk
King Cuerno's transition to King of Putting Guys Over Clean continues. Stupid stuff. Hernandez is just annoying on every level. Drago vs Prince Puma was ok but suffered from the annoying selling & screwy transitions issues I always have with more traditional lucha matches. What's the poop on why they're taking Drago off the air? And on a related subject, why was Chavo Jr taken off the air a few months ago? The best parts of the show were the vignettes. Seeing the Crew meet Matanza (yeah, I'm pretty sure that isn't going to be a run of the mill guy in a mask), the segment with Vampiro interviewing the trios champs from last week and each of them getting a chance to talk while their collective angle was effectively advanced, and the whole weird thing with Marty the Moth, which didn't really make a lot of sense to me, nonetheless entertained me, and what more can I want? Shane Strickland (Killshot) is from Tacoma and looks like Dumb Donald from Fat Albert in that mask. *spit take* Holy cow. Now I won't be able to see anything else. Jiji
Official word is it was him flying away and breathing fire. I was looking at it more like Nightcrawler teleporting. I thought it was just a really efficient form of travel. Like Kurt Wagner.
Technico Support
Speaking of looking dumb in a mask, I'm not a fan of Son of Havoc's look at all. Matt Cross is not a big enough star to the point where he had to wear a hood or else everybody would know him, especially since he didn't have the massive beard during his one time of major exposure, Tough Enough. Motherfucker looks like Charlie Brown from Outta Town in that hood. And that voice alteration thing is god awful. Actually, the whole gimmick is just bad. How many bikers have six pack abs, no tattoos and are gymnasts? They should have run with a Crossfitting lumbersexual hipster gimmick for him. EDIT: Holy shit. I just looked him up on image search and he's actually rocking the Hitler Youth hipster undercut. They really missed the boat on a very contemporary gimmick. thecubsfan
Seeing the Crew meet Matanza (yeah, I'm pretty sure that isn't going to be a run of the mill guy in a mask), I'm coming around to the Gronda idea. Matt Cross is not a big enough star to the point where he had to wear a hood or else everybody would know him, especially since he didn't have the massive beard during his one time of major exposure, Tough Enough. I don't think it was as much hiding him as Lucha Underground wanting another masked character (especially those first two episodes), when they didn't have as many in yet. FluffSnackwell
I talked my 10-year old cousin into believing Son Of Havoc is really just Daniel Bryan slumming it in a mask for the extra bread.
Technico Support
I know "Son of Havoc" is just a play on Sons of Anarchy but, since it's Lucha, I keep wondering about the legendary luchador named Havoc.
Tromatagon
They're not altering Son of Havoc's voice. He just wants to know if she's a great big fat person Matanza is going to be Khali now watch. I don't care though. I just want Cueto to ride him around like the Master Blaster. WHO RULES THE TEMPLE? RING THE BELL! Mistah Na1m4rk
He could be an exceptionally vicious mini. Everyone laughs until he flies into a furious violent rage and leaves everyone in a bloody pool. Tromatagon
It's exactly what happens in the Penitentiary 3 movie I keep telling people to watch. They build a character up like Matanza. Ends up being the Haiti Kid. But he's fucking evil and kicks everyones ass
Curt McGirt
Not the best week but I still was mostly entertained. Was really hoping Pentagon Jr. would break all 4 jobbers' arms simultaneously but Texano clearing the ring was just one of many let downs in terms of booking decisions. I didn't hate it as much as Curt did but I hope this was a one off. Also, hoping for spinal injuries isn't the best form. True. I wasn't in the best of moods that night and my favorite show having a bad run didn't help. Killshot doesn't deserve a spinal injury (which I have had in the last year btw), he just needs to go away. MORELOCK
When Texano's opening line was "I don't know who that guy was" I thought he was talking about the poor jobber's ass he just kicked and tossed outside like trash. I thought the same. It would have been better that way.
Robert
The MVP of the show was clearly Dario Cueto. Whataguy. His interactions with everyone were fantastic. Especially loved him stirring shit with Puma & Hernandez as he clearly knew Puma was listening in on their chat. That entire segment was fantastic and why this show rules. Building to the future in a very simple way and not BANGING YOU OVER THE HEAD LIKE A CERTAIN OTHER COMPANY. Just that glance up by Puma and you know he realized Hernandez wasn't trustworthy. Opening skit with Dario threatening to feed The Crew to Matanza was great. I think I know who Matanza is now but I'll put it in a spoiler box... It'll be Strongman in a Gronda type outfit or preferably a Ghefar type outfit to fit in with my Mortal Kombat connection since Ghefar kinda resembles Goro if you add arms. Fenix vs Killshot was okay, nothing more. Clearly heavily edited since they went to shots of the announcers many times. Killshot did nothing to win me over here and I would have no problem if he got fed to Pentagon Jr. at some point and sent away. Poor jobbers only got 14 seconds before Texano killed them all. I had no issue with that though. His promo was great and busting out the English at the end was a nice touch. I never need English but it's always a good sign to see guys trying to learn the language as if this show gains more popularity it'll be super helpful. Like if they get a house show tour at some point when popularity increases I always wondered how they'd handle the fact Puma speaks no Spanish. I found Marty The Moth funny. I dunno. Didn't Mortal Kombat have a story kinda like this? Hernandez vs Cage vs Cuerno was another okay inoffensive match. Hernandez looks like the most unfun guy to work against. He doesn't give a fuck where he throws you. I guess it evens out since he'll take any stiff shots in exchange but it'd be a bit nicer if he chilled out. Poor Moth got killed. I hope that becomes a weekly bit although this is the current 2nd fan run-in within 2 weeks. Need security focused less on fans filming stuff or posting spoilers! Hernandez winning is fine... sets up the Puma storyline nicely. Vampiro was PERFECT in his interviewing role. I wish they'd just leave him to do this. The trios champs arguing amongst themselves was great. "It was just a cross body" LOL Prince Puma vs Drago was just a super match. Drago looked fantastic! As I noted on the WON board - how many people would be stunned to find out he turns 40 this year? Everyone says the high flying style will shorten your career but where are the 40 year old WWE guys who can move like Drago can? The sequence leading up to the reverse rana was insane! Really cool submissions from both guys. Hernandez run-in advances that story even more at the expense of poor Drago. Puma looked real torn putting Drago away and during the post-match. The confrontation to end the show with Dario was a great special effects moment and Drago saying he'll see Dario again was cool foreshadowing. I did have only really large complaint about the show and it was the commentary. Easily the worst so far this year, all due to Vampiro. Maybe it was just me but I noticed a bunch of times during the show Striker started by saying "Back to the action..." which is code for now we're editing in commentary to cover for what was said live. And it was ALWAYS after Vamp had suddenly gone quiet so clearly they were putting something in to cut him out. Not only that but all show long, even during stuff not involving Puma, Vamp was cutting promos on Konnan and really pushing their feud. Here's the thing... the direction has been confirmed as nothing to do with Konnan vs Vamp. So why is he still talking about it? On his recent F4D interview Vamp said Lucha Underground lets him do what he wants... well maybe they should stop because it's starting to overshadow the actual show and as I was afraid of from day one - Vamp is writing his own storyline to make sure he gets a bigger role at the expense of others. Don't even give me the "wait and see what happens" routine because we all know Vamp gets what he wants - a role on the show inside the ring. In season 2 will he get himself vs Konnan as the main feud with possible proteges? I would have to say yes if they don't stop letting him do whatever he wants. But overall a very good show. If I remember the schedule right there's a match next week I am beyond hyped for!

DreamBroken
Just started getting el Rey recently. Trios champs stuff was gold last week and this week. Ivelisse is so awesome and always a highlight. I enjoyed the Sexy Star/Pentagon Jr match last week and am a fan of Sexy Star so her going over was cool. Puma/Drago was good stuff this week. Not bothered by Hernandez as I've always found him to be decent to good.
Tim Evans
I was watching last week's show on Unimas and Vampiro started with Hugo but then mid way through, Vampiro disappeared and Hugo was solo on commentary. As for this weeks show, I liked it but it's funny that like in AAA, Fenix has been downplayed for better tecnicos. In AAA its for Mysteziz and in LU it's Aerostar, Drago and Son of Havoc. Also, I'm really hoping Drago brings in Billy Boy with him as revenge against Dario.
Robert
There was a report in the WON a couple weeks back that they have to edit the commentary a lot because Vamp swears too much (apparently nobody in production has the stones to tell him to stop?). Maybe they just decided it's easier to cut him out completely.
A Guy Named Tracy
I know this clip is a few months old, but wow! I didn't think it was possible to love Dario Cueto any more.
