piranesi Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Tino's issues as the Rays hitting coach will probably keep him from being a hitting coach in the bigs again for awhile Well, that and the fact that he was still berating the players eight months later. "I was tough on some of the young players I thought needed to be, not disciplined, but they were walking around like they were 10-year veterans and I was trying to teach them the right way to do things." I think I know a place he'll fit in just fine.
odessasteps Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Sure, if you've had McGuire as hitting coach, we know you do not have ethical issues about employment.

Nice Guy Eddie Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Honestly, I had forgotten about this incident with Tino as Marlins hitting coach. I'd still have no problem with it if he were to become Yankees hitting coach. I really don't think he's going to be the choice for hitting or first base coach.
RIPPA Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Now this is Newsday so it might as well be a random internet blog but they are saying the Yanks are considering hiring Omar Minaya for some sort of front office position. I will now be over in the corner punching myself in the dick grr....

Joe Lucia Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Andrew Friedman is the new Dodgers GM. Welp.
Craig H Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Well holy shit. I wish I could dig up the links back when the Cubs had their GM/President opening because I could swear Friedman had no intention of leaving the Rays for a large market team.
RIPPA Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 John Hart turned down the Atlanta GM gig DAYTON MOORE - COME ON DOWN!!!
Joe Lucia Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I couldn't have picked a better time to become a neutral fan...
Kuetsar Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 John Hart turned down the Atlanta GM gig DAYTON MOORE - COME ON DOWN!!! Well If the Royals win the World Series it would be a great time to leave, or even if they don;t for that matter. Its not like the Royals are going to have a long run or anything. . .
RIPPA Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 The Rangers are going to hire Jeff Banister to be manager
piranesi Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Hey! I'm awake. Wha happen...oh... ew.... Mets, Cubs, Marlins, Dodgers, Pirates? Those are.. I...I don't belong here.
Joe Lucia Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Hey, welcome! I ate most of the cookies. I think there might be a couple of Wheat Thins left by the bathroom. Pick up a Dixie cup, fill it with warm tap water, and enjoy THIS party!
Brian Fowler Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 I'm not even going to get an AL MVP consolation prize this year.

RIPPA Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Red Sox hire Chili Davis as hitting coach. Chili was the As hitting coach and apparently was also a candidate for the same position with the Yanks and Rangers
RIPPA Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 The finalists for the Twins job are supposedly Paul Molitor, Doug Mientkiewicz, and Torey Lovullo.
RIPPA Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 John Hart in for the Braves As President of Baseball Operations. They are still going to hire a GM
RIPPA Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Phillies extend Grady Sizemore for another year A guaranteed $2 million - with the potential to go up to $5 with incentives Just Ruben being Ruben 2
BrianS81177 Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 He wasn't. The problem was those other stubborn GMs who wouldn't trade 2 of their top 3 prospects for Marlon Byrd 2
Joe Lucia Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 John Hart in for the Braves As President of Baseball Operations. They are still going to hire a GM Everything I'm hearing is indicating they're going with Hart as prez of baseball ops and no GM for now, with AGM John Coppalella (a "rising star" in the industry) picking up some duties. TBH, he'll get hired by another team before his time "in waiting" is over.
RIPPA Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 So basically Hart turned down the GM job to get a better title??? I mean they couldn't have just offered him Baseball Ops to begin with then???
