Dolfan in NYC Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Hey, it's almost the end of the year. And for Kwanzaa this year, Tony has brought to you, the 2nd edition of World's End! From the Addition Financial Arena, in Orlando... (I prefer Pemdas Financial myself!) I initially assumed the people listed in the semifinals were whom you were personally predicting (like you predicted Mox winning). And I was going to quibble with that, because it's seemed obvious to me since the line-ups were announced that the Blue League top two would be Fletcher and Okada and the Gold League top two would be Ospreay and... somebody. Maybe Claudio, but I'd expect him to have some sort of gimmick/death match against Darby at World's End, which is unlikely if either of them makes the top two.
Go2Sleep Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 I feel like Okada/Ospreay should be the obvious final. Fletcher is pretty much guaranteed to win the Blue League, which means Ospreay comes in second for a rematch in the semis. That means Darby or maybe Ricochet wins the Gold League to face Okada on the other side.
dorfus malorfus Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 I hope the payoff to five years of MJF winning every Dynamite Diamond Ring match isn't just him losing it to Cole in year six. Even if I wasn't on the "Adam Cole sucks" bandwagon, it would be lousy to give such a potentially big payoff to an already established (possibly washed?) guy, rather than a younger guy. They should have just (as suggested by Meltzer at the time) had Starks beat him for the ring at Winter is Coming two years ago and then lose in a rematch for the title, rather than putting the title and the ring on the line in the same match. Roughly how long ago did Cole and Baker split up? Wouldn't be surprised if this whole messy storyline began because TK had longterm dreams of Cole winning Max's ring and then shoot proposing to DMD in the ring with it. 1
The Natural Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Hope the second edition is better than the inaugural one. It's certainly one of if not the worst AEW PPV ever.

Hail Sabin Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 I picked it up on Blu Ray during the Black Friday Sale since it was the one I needed to complete all the PPVs from All Out 2022 to Revolution 2024 minus Forbidden Door since they never released it. 1 hour ago, SturmCRF said: Didn't it end with Samoa Joe beating MJF to become world champ? Hail Sabin Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Not Really the only extra features are the full zero hours for each show. 1
dorfus malorfus Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Apologies if someone else has already posited this elsewhere but it occurs to me that Wardlow is probably making his big return in the MJF/Cole match. No idea what his role would be at this point or whose side he'd be on but I'd bet he at least powerbombs someone.
Sex Machine Gun Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 "BUT WHICH SIDE WILL HE BOMB?" I forgot about last year's event besides Joe getting strapped up. Genuine blank.
Nice Guy Eddie Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 (edited) What if Wardlow breaks up the match and powerbombs both MJF and Cole? We need no explanation why Wardlow would go after MJF, but later on we can get Wardlow saying something to the effect that Cole didn't live up to the promises he made. If he does show up I'm hoping it's to do something like this. I don't think Wardlow is very good on his own merits and it's criminal they dropped the ball after getting him so crazy over during the Max feud. But before he went off tv they were setting up a repeat of the MJF feud all over again where he was going to be Cole's whipping boy leading to a slow face turn. He's already probably too damaged to salvage but the worst thing they could do with him would be to make him someone's heavy again. It could actually be interesting to do some convoluted storyline where Wardlow forces MJF to sign a contract making him Wardlow's indentured servant and you do a slow double turn where the fans hate Wardlow for abusing his power and being too cruel to Max and Max is (once again) redeemed as a babyface for enduring Wardlow's abusive management. Curt McGirt Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Just put Wardlow on ROH or something. Tony needs to get it through his head that the dude is not his version of Sid. He's more their version of 911. 2

Curt McGirt Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Okay, I'll be nice again and say he'd be big in TNA 1
Craig H Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 TK has his version of Sid. His name is Big Bill. They need to get back to building dissention or distrust between Jericho and Big Bill. They started it with that promo a month or two ago or maybe closer to All In and then just dropped it. Get Big Bill to be sick of Jericho's bullshit and never, ever have him go 50/50 in matches against Jericho or the other guy (can't remember his name now). Just beat their asses. And hell, have him start fist bumping fans as a tribute to Sid. 3 1

Curt McGirt Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 We really should celebrate for him how far Bill has came. He was a midcard act where his obnoxious heater was the real star, they broke up, he floundered, the other guy got fired, he quit for his mental health, he came back in TNA with a ton more personality and a clear aptitude in the ring, came to AEW and was killing it -- and now he's a heater for Jericho? Who has never needed a second, and has surrounded himself with them CONSTANTLY his whole run. BREAK HIM OFF. Let him kill people. Let him talk for himself. Let him get over. 2
dorfus malorfus Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Another reason they need a hard roster spilt is so Brody King and Big Bill can both be world champions and then eventually fight each other. 4
NoFistsJustFlips Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 The Wardlow slander in this thread lol. It's the booking that failed Wardlow, not the performer. Agents have certainly made him downshift from what he's capable of as well. It's like Hogan telling The Giant to stop hitting Missel Dropkicks and kip ups and start doing more nerve holds like Andre. Everyone is entitled to like / dislike whatever performer they want. But if they take the shackles off of Wardlow he can heat up real quick and get over again. 2
