zendragon Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 Seems there's a lot of horror movies being released in The spring this year, LNWTD, The First Omen, Immaculate, Abigail.
Curt McGirt Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 The First Omen is supposed to be good -- like really, unexpectedly awesome.
zendragon Posted April 27, 2024 Posted April 27, 2024 Saw it tonight didn't like it as much as Immaculate

Curt McGirt Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 (edited) In its own way... totally, haha! It definitely reminds me of the late '90s videos I'd find at Kroger in the big VHS department they fixed up in the center of the store. Edited May 10, 2024 by Curt McGirt
Technico Support Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 (edited) Late to the party but I'm watching the half hour "Cursed Films" docs on Shutter and the Twilight Zone: The Movie episode is just horrific. They show the footage. On the box art tip, is there a book covering nothing but 80s horror VHS tape art, king of like Paperbacks From Hell? Edited May 10, 2024 by Technico Support

Curt McGirt Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG7wOTE8NhE LONGLEGS Whoa. Nic Cage is getting his horror on again, and it looks like a supercharged Silence of the Lambs. SUPER creepy. Of course it would be from good old Neon.
Curt McGirt Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDrq1ydWhB4 THE SUBSTANCE Apparently this grossed out everyone at Cannes. Demi Moore (?!) is a forgotten actress who uses the titular liquid to form a clone. It's like Sunset Boulevard meets The Fly.
Curt McGirt Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Romulus new poster Spoiler New trailer dropping in 24 hrs. 1 1

I don't want to name them and possibly give them hits, but there's a YouTube channel that tricked me last week with a "new Romulus trailer." It was the original teaser, maybe intercut with some scenes from the other Alien films or some generic sci fi, with a god-awful unprofessional sounding voiceover that made it really obvious it was fake. Checking out their channel, they had tons of (now obviously fake) trailers labelled the same way, like "movie name final trailer." Why is the internet such a carny cesspoool? 1
Curt McGirt Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Yeah, I caught one of those for Romulus before. I think it was comprised of a student or tribute film's shots. Bogus.
Curt McGirt Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTJLvAfAlAc THE VOURDALAK Now THIS looks like fun. Nutty as all get out. You might remember the same story told in Mario Bava's Black Sabbath AKA The Three Faces of Fear, starring Boris Karloff as the titular Wurdulak (as it is also spelled). 1

Dolfan in NYC Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 I don't care that it's title is "UNDER PARIS"... This is "Shark de Triomphe." 4

I watched this last night. My wife and I love cheesy shark movies. It was no Requin, but it had its charms. I don't think any of the science works like at any point but doesn't matter, people that need to get chomped get chomped, the two big set pieces are glorious mayhem and there's even a shark autopsy at some point. Ending doesn't make any sense at all but it really doesn't matter because Spoiler The shark wins a million billion stars.

How can anyone look at Adjani's performance and think "yes, I can improve on this?" Spoiler of the end and trigger warning for self-harm but I will be absolutely shocked if they're prepared to end the film in the same way: Spoiler with a small child committing suicide on screen
odessasteps Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Why did Gus Van Sant see the need to remake Psycho? Prob still one of the most unneeded remakes in modern times.
