FWIW, the director is Chris Landon who made the awesome Happy Death Day movies, and he co-wrote it with Attack of the Queerwolf co-host Michael Kennedy. Those two facts alone have me in "I'm not even watching the trailer but I cannot fucking wait territory." -------- Allegedly, the Friday the 13th legal limbo night be over, and a new movie is rumored to be starting development. Curt McGirt
I just watched Verotika on Shudder. Don't watch it. Just don't. It's abysmally shot, written, and acted softcore porn with a ton of gore. None of the three stories have A STORY. They are a series of things happening with no consequence, all involving nude women, blood, bad effects, bad sets, and bad dialogue. The music is even awful. I started to laugh at first, and halfway through the second part I started to fast forward. By the end I just gave up. The last one is a Countess Bathory story where Countess Bathory kills women and swims in their blood. That's it. There isn't anything else. The second story is a woman that works at a strip club and cuts off women's faces. That's it. There's nothing else. NOTHING. ELSE. The first one has a gal with eyes for nipples while a giant spider man from her dreams breaks women's necks as she sleeps. The cops shoot him. That's it. It might sound engagingly weird but isn't. She looks good but she is probably a porn star. The first story is about hooking and the second is about strippers. It tells you a lot about how Danzig views women, because this seems to have been written by a horny 14 year-old who likes horror. I would've loved it at that age. If you don't believe me, watch it. It'll be the biggest, most ridiculous waste of viewing you'll have spent in a long long time. Just get really high beforehand for your own sake. FluffSnackwell
I'll probably put it on in the background while I'm drawing or doing something else. It seems like one of those bad movies where you think it will be fun to drink to. Ultimately though you end up royally pissed that you wasted booze watching that crap....... when you could have had a better time getting shitfaced watching anything else.

(BP)
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark was pretty good. It’s kind of in that sweet spot between spooky adventure movies for kids like Hocus Pocus or Goosebumps and legitimate adult horror. It’s more sophisticated and effective than I would’ve expected. The climax is underwhelming, to the point where I wonder if there were production issues that forced them to oversimplify it. I also think the 68’ election and Vietnam was a neat backdrop, but it doesn’t really have a point of view about any of it and one character makes a decision involving it near the end of the movie that made me scream at my television. The ending is surprisingly refreshing in that it’s a blatant sequel setup, but one that’s hopeful and almost triumphant. I can’t think of another horror movie off of the top of my head that’s done something similar.
