TimLivingston
They keep playing around with serendipity too much, making sure the entire crew sees the mother before Ted. Bah. That being said, I do like the slow burn. The show isn't about what happens after he meets the mother. It's about what happens leading up to it. Totally fine with it. RandomAct
I agree with that. I think we'll see everything that happens after he meets her before he actually does.

RIPPA
ZABKATAGE!!! That saved it from being one of the worst episodes ever
RandomAct
I agree. The black & white montage was fun, but it was a largely forgettable episode aside from the stuff with Zabka.
RIPPA
Part of the reason I am not really enjoying these episodes - and this makes me seem terrible - but the actress they had for Barney's mother hasn't exactly aged well. So now they are throwing together this season and she has been a major player in like three episodes and I keep thinking she is going to keel over at any moment. Thankfully - the fucking Marshall roadtrip is over
RandomAct
That roadtrip is one of my most pointlessly shoehorned things the show has ever done. The ONLY good part about it was when he put in the Proclaimers.

Thankfully - the fucking Marshall roadtrip is over Well Barney is supposed to be in his mid-30's so it would stand to reason that his mom is in her late 50's/early 60's. The actress who plays his mom is 60.
TimLivingston
Ugh. The rhyming.
RandomAct
That episode would have been find without the rhyming gimmick.
RIPPA
There really should have been a warning before the episode. I mean I knew it was going to happen this season but I would have liked to be prepared for it. That being said... Good Lord... Camille Guaty. How have I never seen you before? TimLivingston
SHE'S 35!!!! Holy crap, Disney Channel. You really do make some magic happen.
TimLivingston
So with the last couple weeks, I think the slow burn has gotten to me. At this point, I feel that they have dragged it on for way too long and it's now showing the strains of stretching out what could have been a nice half or quarter season arc into the entire damn thing. Territorial
Yeah, this season isn't working for me at all. It's obvious by now that nothing significant will take place until the wedding episodes (May sweeps, I'm guessing). At least Marshall's road trip is over (I think. Haven't actually watched last nights ep yet). The laser tag bachelor party nearly did me in. Though I liked the ending quite a bit.
LethalStriker
I believe that after last nights episode that the mother is going to be on the show a lot more often now and it's really going to start picking up towards the finish after we get back from the holiday break. RandomAct
Yeah, last night was a good step in getting the season pointed in the right direction. Things actually happened.
Reggie20x6
And there's the thud of a season that is way too long. This is why clip shows were invented.

Neil Koch
Not funny, borderline racist, and a song at the end. ugh
cool arrow
Did I notice Stacy Keibler as one of the girls that slapped Marshal? Dunno, but she did play a bartender in one episode.
TimLivingston
It's Boyz II Men, so it's going to win for me. Plus, you HAVE to do the slap song. That was Stacy Kiebler. She was the one who got to do two slaps. I didn't like that they had the other characters play the slap masters, but it was kind of unavoidable. Tabe
Did I notice Stacy Keibler as one of the girls that slapped Marshal? Yes, you did. This was the first episode of the new season that I've seen and.....holy cow...it was awful. Not a lick of humor in it, ridiculous to the extreme + infinity and just...ugh. Nothing good about it at all.
RandomAct
Boyz II Men, and a couple of cameos from Barney's exes were the only good things about that episode. Stacy was the girl who tried to make Barney give up his suits a few seasons ago.
Robert S
I am sure this episode read funny on paper, but yeah, what ended up on screen was hardly funny at all.
