Welp. Unlike the last time we picked a Gator DE high, I'm not falling into that trap this time. Didn't want Fowler or Ray and got stuck with Fowler when Vic Beasley and Amari Cooper were still on the board. Honestly, even Gregory at 3 would've been a better pick than Fowler AND WE COULD'VE GOTTEN HIM IN THE SECOND!

Le FUCKING sigh...

Well, this is crazy post of the day

Upon reading it again - I believe APO is saying Gregory would be a 2nd rounder he just hates Fowler so much he would have rather picked a 2nd Rounder with the 3rd pick in the draft than Fowler

Either way - it is silly

When they announced the pick, I had no idea who the Texans drafted.  After a bit of research, I now realize that the Texans drafted Bruno Mars.

... no. I don't "hate" Fowler, just don't think he's worth a top 15 pick. Gregory as a player is a Top-6 talent in this draft and far better as an EDGE than Fowler, anxiety/weed issues aside.

Well you are the only person who doesn't think Fowler wasn't a Top 15 pick.

I mean the Redskins already confirmed they were taking him at 5 over Scherff if he was available

Shit, there's a very good chance the very tastefully named Fowler is the best player in the draft.

And if anyone knows how to properly evaluate talent, its the racial slurs. . . jk I have no idea.

Come on, that's funny. If he was making a joke about his other alleged transgression, then we have a real issue.

I am more offended by the jersey he's wearing. Looks terrible.

The apparent offer the Eagles made to the Bucs for #1 was the 22nd pick, their #1 next year, Sam Bradford and another player (educated guesses are Mychal Kendricks)

The Eagles are of course now saying that is bullshit since they want to at least pretend that they like Bradford

Oh it gets even better

Apparently the Eagles offered the Titans (per Ian Rapoport)

Two first-round picks

One third-round pick
Fletcher Cox, the team's best defensive player
Brandon Boykin, nickel corner
Sam Bradford, starting quarterback
Mychal Kendricks, starting linebacker

See, they should have thrown in DeMarco Murray and they could have swung it.

If that's true the Titans are insane for giving that up. I may be biased because I don't think Mariota is going to be much more than a decent pro but that trade sounds like Hershel Walker Deal 2.0

Posted

I too am shocked that the Titans passed on that package, 2 first rounders, 3 def. pieces that make you better on that side of the ball and Bradford who, if he stays on the field, could be a perfectly fine stop-gap solution at QB for a season or two till a better option comes their way through FA or the draft.

If that deal is real and the Titans passed on it Mariota will need to be a star for it to be worth it to pass up but i don't think he or Winston are going to be top-level QB's but maybe one or both of them will surprise us. After all Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco were both supposed to be big time elite QB's and they have been middling outside of Flacco's lights out playoff run to the SB. We can't say until some time passes but that is a lot to pass up for an unproven guy.

Also LOL Eagels, that offer should be posted in the offseason stupity thread cause that is way too much to be offering for a guy just cause you coached him in college, it really seems like Chip is doing his best to get back to college, I know it's been said before but the guys personal decisions are something else.

6 Folks remain in the green room

Alabama safety Landon Collins, Nebraska pass rusher Randy Gregory, Mississippi State linebacker Benardrick McKinney, Ohio State receiver Devin Smith, Penn State offensive tackle Donovan Smith and Arizona State state receiver Jaelen Strong will be back in the green room tonight, waiting to hear their names called.

The main note I'm gathering from the draft yesterday is that Gruden said the Rams hadn't had a franchise running back since Dickerson. I think Jerome Bettis, Marshall Faulk, and Steven Jackson would all like to have a word.

Man even Vinny Cerrato and Bruce Allen would have thought that was excessive

If the Titans seriously turned that down then the Titans are bad and they deserve to feel bad.

Eagles fans, be happy. The only thing that could stop Kelly being nuts was someone else saying no, and it happened.

Didn't know I had to conform to the groupthink. :x

*tries to gather self*

*breathes deeply*

Look. Phillip Dorsett seems like a good player. I'm not questioning the guy's talent. He makes an already potent receiving corps that much more dangerous. But the Colts already have TY Hilton, Andre Johnson, and Donte Moncrief. Not to mention Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen at TE.

I'm all for giving Andrew Luck as many weapons as possible. But I'd like for Ryan Grigson to give us fans something else.

A MOTHER. FUCKING. DEFENSE. YOU KNOW, WHAT THE TEAM ACTUALLY NEEDS INSTEAD OF A FOURTH WR.

Grigson does realize that his D is older than the NFL itself, right? Seriously, dudes are signing up for AARP cards and discount coupon books from their neighborhood grocery store. THEY ARE SO OLD. And brittle! Robert Mathis will be returning from injury. LaRon Landry is thankfully gone, but he needs to be replaced. It's high time to address the other side of the ball, so the team doesn't get mollywhopped by the Evil Patriot Empire every year.

Grigson is a putz. Build-a-Bear looking busta. Irsay's probably hip-deep in pills and hookers, so he's no help. I lived through this nightmare during the Bill Polian days, but he at least had enough foresight to draft Mathis, Dwight Freeney, and Brittle Bob Sanders. Grigson is fucking obtuse. Fuck a defense, apparently. Fuck, indeed.

So Luck is just expected to drop 100 points every Sunday? Really? Yeah, like that worked in the Peyton Manning era, save for 2006. Having a top-tier QB doesn't mean jack if the defense can't DEFEND the other team's offense during the playoffs. The Colts will probably get torched by Blake Bortles or some other chump. Marcus Mariota will probably wax them for 35. Yeesh.

*rubs temples*

I'm going to go punch a few pillows right now as therapy.

Fire Ryan Grigson. Or so help me, if I ever get a hold of the Tumbler--Lucas Oil Stadium will feel my wrath.

Damn, Burgundy getting all salty up in here.
