dogwelder Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Speaking of Johnny Football... Report: Browns to “explore all options” at quarterback According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns intend to “explore all options” at quarterback this season. Those options include a possible trade up to get Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota, a player with whom G.M. Ray Farmer reportedly is smitten. The Browns will enter the draft with a pair of first-round picks that could be packaged in an effort to get Mariota, if the Browns decide to make a move up. It would mean making a move out with current starter Johnny Manziel, whose wage-scaled contract would allow the Browns to keep both guys around, if they wanted to.
evilwaldo Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Brian Hoyer reminds everyone that Josh Gordon is on the team.
hammerva Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 It looks like it is back to Brian Hoyer time as Manziel has apparently given up on being a QB and is now just an option running back. Given that he was taken out of the game it didn't go well Oh there is that special detroit Lions special teams

I don't think two mid first round draft picks gets you to mariota, but I could be wrong. . .
Tabe Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Lions pretending it's 2013 - dumb interceptions, drive-extending defensive penalties, stupid special teams play...Good grief.
Kuetsar Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Lions pretending it's 2013 - dumb interceptions, drive-extending defensive penalties, stupid special teams play...Good grief. Someone needs to tell them they are already in the playoffs, then they might play better
hammerva Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Joe Flacco - definitely not an elite QB. Guys with more yards passing than him today Johnny Manziel Jimmy Clausen Geno Smith
Raziel Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 So, where are all the yellow "penality flags" that the billboards around MetLife have been advertising for weeks? Not gonna come out until Brady hulks up?
Raziel Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Holy shit that catch by Wallace in the Miami game
pipGofern Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Mike Carey is either the worst referee ever or was the league's last competent official: every time Gumbel brings him on for "expert analysis" the game refs end up making the exact opposite call.
Raziel Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 So Detriot just loves dumbass penalties, right?
Vincey Greene Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 TD Clausen. Dollars to donuts Cutler never plays another snap for Chicago. Also, Cam sure made a classically poor play on that INT. Can't do it by yourself, Superman, no matter how much you wanna. Sometimes you gotta get rid of the ball.
Tabe Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Another dumb special teams play by the Lions, another touchdown by the Bears. Sure, it was a bad call - that's a 5-yard penalty without a doubt - but just a terribly stupid play to even give the refs that choice. And Raiola, geez. Way to beg for a suspension.
Death From Above Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Question is will he get a 1 game or 2? If it's two he misses a playoff game. So probably one.
Tabe Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Terrible no-call on pass interference against Megatron leads to another awful special teams play (blocked FG). None of you believed me when I told you I expected the Lions to lose.
pipGofern Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Well I got my officiating question answered - this crew working this Steeler game is the most incompetent group of nincompoops I've seen this season. They gift KC a first down & eventual FG with a taunting penalty when the entire Chiefs team wasn't even on the field and Steeler William Gay committed the unforgivable sin of folding his arms to his chest.
Death From Above Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Speaking of referees holy shit did the Dolphins just get hosed on whatever that roughing call was supposed to be.
BobbyWhioux Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Mike Carey is either the worst referee ever or was the league's last competent official: every time Gumbel brings him on for "expert analysis" the game refs end up making the exact opposite call. And either possibility seems totally plausible.
Shadow Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Josh Norman just had one of the most beautiful INTs I've ever seen, and then has a brain cramp and promptly turns the ball back over to the Browns. We can't have nice things in Charlotte apparently.

We can't have nice things in Charlotte apparently. It's okay, Drew Brees just decided you didn't need nice things to see your team benefit, anyway.
Kuetsar Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Do the Browns have a third string? The Panthers seem to be on a mission to kill Hoyer. . .
SirFozzie Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Wow. As a Pats fan I thought they were short on that first down call, and the Jets got screwed on the non-obvious first down call. Win ugly, but win. I thought at the time "The Pats need the win, the Jets need the high draft pick and the league/refs are just smoothing it out for everyone" 1
Dewar Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 The Pats were short, the refs did fuck that call up, but if the Jets actually finished drives, it would not have mattered.
Vincey Greene Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Funny how all season, whether deserved or not, it was Cutler failing the WRs. Now it's the opposite. Can't say Jimmy didn't put that ball right in Alshon's hands.
