Dolfan in NYC Posted October 24 Posted October 24 This is obviously important and should be discussed. It's something I think all of us sort of knew about but is now going to get a new life. All Vince allegations and lawsuit stuff can go here. There's a lot of horrible stuff he's done, and emotions may run strong. I'd *highly* recommend using discretion when posting. Consequences for breaking the rules will be swift and severe. -- Now that said, the only thing that makes me a bit suspicious here is that Linda is being brought in too for the first time. Now, she's not exactly the most innocent person in the world either (how can you be when you're married to him)... But I dunno, something don't sit right with me there. But man... Vince McMahon sucks. 3
odessasteps Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Could depend on what her title at Titan was at the time. also, if you listen to the Titangate shows that BTS did, Linda did try and adopt some kind of pseudo parental relationship with Tom Cole, trying to get him into college etc. but when you read about it, it sounds very calculating on her part, like “ we tried to help you but you couldn’t do it and we are very disappointed in you.” 2
The Natural Posted October 24 Posted October 24 I still remember how sick and shocked I was at the Wall Street Journal article at the start of the year. One of the worst things I've ever read.
zendragon Posted October 24 Posted October 24 (edited) Just when you think we've hit rock bottom the trap door opens, and for the life of me why did they feel the need to keep Mel Philips around especially after the first round of allegations Edited October 24 by zendragon 1

Hope you don't mind me adding to this but with Linda tied to the suit I wanted to mention something. If we could it would be nice to not mention anything political. There's enough awful shit going on with this suit alone (among the other things Vince is linked to) and with election day 12 days away tensions are really high. So if you're inclined to mention something political please go here instead https://discord.gg/kyBKaHE. Also, Vince and Linda are pieces of shit. I don't know how long it'll take for a resolution but with evidence all over the place I can see those five men winning rather easily. EDIT: Technico alluded to it somewhat so I should specify what I was referring to was for anything political that's not relevant to the case. If it's relevant then yeah it's fair game. I was trying to get this posted before work got busy so apologies for that. Edited October 24 by NikoBaltimore 6

The lawsuit also states that the five survivors, named John Does 1-5 in the suit, only recently learned of the depth of knowledge the McMahons and WWE had about their abuse as a result of new insights gained from the lawsuit Janel Grant filed in January.
Technico Support Posted October 24 Posted October 24 I'll just say that my opinion is if Linda wants to paint herself as a former small business owner who built an empire, which is the gimmick she ran on twice and also used as her qualification for her cabinet position, then she's fair game in lawsuits. As @odessasteps mentioned, she took an active part in diffusing the ring boy scandal. She also had the political connections to get the iggy on the Zahorian thing and warn Vince. She's absolutely complicit. 7

(BP) Posted October 24 Posted October 24 It’s always seemed like this story was overshadowed by the steroid investigation and somehow scrubbed from the public’s memories immediately. The first time I was even vaguely aware of it is when I read a 90s wrestling magazine that briefly alluded to it, but referred to it as a “sex scandal,” which is truly shameful. 1

Also, to be honest I heard the general talk about the Mel Phillips stuff and the documentary shed more light on it. But there's likely going to be details I never knew about (like above) that I'm sure will lead me to going all "Oh, FFS!" 1
sabremike Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Imagine if when Sandusky was still coaching the Penn State tv/radio announcers were making "insider" jokes about what was happening on air?

It got coverage initially and then was only covered by tabloid tv shows like Inside Edition and Geraldo's syndicated "news" show, sadly back then and even now network and local news didn't/don't like covering stories like this. I also think a lot of big city newspapers avoided it since Titan Sports would buy a lot of ad space to promote house shows, besides the NY Post who let Phil Mushnick write basically whatever he wanted about it. RazorbladeKiss87 Posted October 24 Posted October 24 For those who are inclined, Rewind A Dynamite on the Post Wrestling Network has a interview with Bix about his article. It's sectioned off on the YouTube. Haven't read the article yet but the interview is kinda interesting. 1

Well its a very different time, the daytime tv talks shows where seen as rather trashy and if you didn't watch them when it happened then it came and went. Not like today where it would be all over twitter ect. 1
odessasteps Posted October 24 Posted October 24 (edited) You can see why sports outlets, in the 1990s, would prefer to cover the steroid scandal, which is more relatable to things going on in football or the Olympics, than a same sex pedophile story. Now, other outlets … Edited October 24 by odessasteps

RazorbladeKiss87 Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Interesting timing on some really awful videos about people involved in the reporting of this like Dave and Bix. Box gets on my nerves sometimes but the video tweeted about him was so far beyond mean spirited. I know this is not exactly Vince related but some of his tactics seem to be at use still.

NikoBaltimore Posted November 9 Posted November 9 (edited) Yeah, after watching the past year it's making me heavily reconsider. I'll still watch but will quickly drop everything if this happens. Edited November 9 by NikoBaltimore 2
