supremebve Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I was out of town when Rickey Henderson died, so I didn't really follow the conversation. Fuck Mushnick. Rickey Henderson is easily the best baserunner of all time and it isn't close. The object of the game is to score runs, and Rickey Henderson scored more than anyone in history. Absolutely every part of his game was about getting back to home plate. Waiting until Rickey Henderson died to write a column calling him overrated is bullshit. If anything he's underrated, because people like Mushnick spent his entire career saying the dude who scored more runs than anyone in history wasn't trying hard enough. Fuck him, he's a bitch, and no one should take him seriously (unless he's talking about Vince). 2
Dolfan in NYC Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 The Mets have said they expect Pete Alonso to sign elsewhere as their contract negotiations have come to an impasse.

I don't know if there is a better story of how great of a guy you are than Bob Gibson, who may be the meanest motherfucker of all time, got fined for holding your hand and laughing during team photos. If you can make Bob Gibson a total goofball, at the very least, you have to be a good hang. Plenty of people try to be funny around sports, but I don't know if any have been better than Ueker. 1
RIPPA Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Roki Sasaki announced he was going to the Dodgers So glad his agent did the ridiculous dog and pony show for the last 6 weeks
SirFozzie Posted January 17 Posted January 17 to absolutely no one's surprise. New idea: Let's contract the Marlins, and allow the Dodgers to field two teams in the NL
Cobra Commander Posted January 17 Posted January 17 so which postseason game(s) do the Dodgers use an opener because all their pitchers got hurt again?
Raziel Posted January 18 Posted January 18 So at what point can we start calling the Dodgers the Evil Empire?

BobbyWhioux Posted January 18 Posted January 18 They always were. They just had enough lean years most of y’all forgot
RIPPA Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Dodgers sign Tanner Scott because of course they did 4 years, $72 million There is deferred money because of course there is $21 million is deferred The Blue Jays were "in on Scott" but failed to land him because of course they were

RIPPA Posted January 20 Posted January 20 The Jays actually signed someone! Anthony Santander for 5 years, $92.5 million (opt out after 3) We will just ignore the fact that reportedly Santander had the offer for a month and finally accepted because no one else was giving him close to that contract
RIPPA Posted January 21 Posted January 21 It should be noted that Santander deferred around $35 million of his contract In this case - many are speculating it is because of the difference between US and Canadian tax laws Also - the Jays can override his opt out by adding a 6th year at $17.5 million
Tabe Posted January 21 Posted January 21 The Dodgers signed Kirby Yates. Can't seem to find the terms. He was lights out last year - 1.17 ERA while averaging 13K/9.
Travis Sheldon Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Obviously, the answer to the Dodgers is to add 4 more teams to the playoffs, make every 3rd home run a MEGA HR worth 5 funs, and half price Celsius energy drinks after 3 innings. There's a freebie for you, Commissioner. /s 1

Cobra Commander Posted January 24 Posted January 24 there were also totally not planted rumors of Scherzer and the Blue Jays as Max evaluates how Medicare compares to Canadian health care

Whom would you punch first?
BobbyWhioux Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I’d wind up, reach way back like a Hulk Hogan punch, and try to Stooge Slap all three of them as close to simultaneously as possible Anyone got a Coal Miner’s Glove I can borrow?
