Pete Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 Aw man... never heard the Wolverine story. RIP Dr Hook. 1 1
Travis Sheldon Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 Sad to hear of Richard Lewis passing. IIRC, he has appeared on one of the four Curb episodes that are out now. Been a fan of his since the 80s, Late Night w/David Letterman was a staple for me, so I got to see him a lot of him on there. Still love the 1988 film The Wrong Guys, only Tim Thomerson and Franklyn Ajaye remain from Den 7. R.I.P.
driver Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 My first exposure to Lewis was the series he did with Jamie Lee Curtis. Second exposure was him being interviewed on Stern(years later). RIP. The same age as my parents. The age thing is what hits the most.
piranesi Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 somewhere out there he's saying to all his friends "See, I told you. I'm not healthy. You all thought I was joking! Well who's laughing now!"

odessasteps Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Another Stern Show regular leaves us, up with Belzer, Gilbert and Pat Copper in th3 green room in the sky.
Eivion Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 I mostly remember him from Robin Hood: Men in Tights. 3 2
Curt McGirt Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Just about to say that. The moving mole was one of those great subtle (for him, anyway) Brooks gags. And the movie is still hilarious and stands up perfectly well after all these years. 3
The Natural Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-68433675 RIP Dave Myers, one half of the Hairy Bikers aged 66. Gutted. Fuck cancer. 1
odessasteps Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 RIP Steve Lawrence.. now the first thing I think about w Steve and Eydie. 1
odessasteps Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 RIP porn star Sophia Leone age 26. someone said this is the fourth porn star to die this year. That’s peak wrestling death statistics. 1

Leone was found dead, possibly after a home invasion, so there's a homicide investigation. One was an OD. Another woman apparently had a cardiac event while in rehab and is in a coma. There was also a suicide too. 1
COLETTI Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 Masuimi Max was the accidental OD, fentanyl mixed in with cocaine. She was less "porn star" and more "fetish model," but obviously a similar category.
Curt McGirt Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 (edited) It's beyond me why dealers would cut fentanyl with coke. I know they want addicted customers but there are so many recreational cocaine users that killing them seems to have less of a profit margin than dope fiends, who are ready and willing to die and will buy more if someone dies from your package. Someone seeing their friends die from a casual line aren't gonna buy anymore, more likely, unless they have a serious addiction. I had a guy in rehab that (unwitting and unwillingly) smoked crack cut with it! That is not knowing your customer base. Edited March 12, 2024 by Curt McGirt
COLETTI Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 I've had the same exact thought. Killing off your customer base at a rapid clip seems like exact wrong idea, on top of the whole brutally immoral aspect.

In some cases it's thought that the fentanyl got mixed in with cocaine due to cross contamination, basically being processed/packaged in the same facility with no type of cleaning happening. 1

Curt McGirt Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 (edited) At this point you probably shouldn't do coke unless it's straight from the brick. These cartels fucked everything up for everybody (unless you're a movie star or a direct plug or something). EDIT: I wonder if Europe is going through the same issues as the US, and I actually doubt it. Britain in particular has a huge population of recreational users of charlie and you don't hear of regular ODs over there, likely due to alternate sourcing than Mexico. Or maybe we've just got to give them time for the fentanyl scourge to catch on over there. Edited March 12, 2024 by Curt McGirt
odessasteps Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 I don’t know if it’s still true, but I know people have been talking about a growing number of coked up fans at football matches.

She had been suffering from mental health issues sincing retiring and was barely recognizable in the picture I saw. 1
Zimbra Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 RIP to legendary character actor M Emmett Walsh, who has died at age 88. DEAN once described his character from Blood Simple as looking like he had placed individual baked beans over each of his teeth and I could never see him without thinking of that. 2
