Dolfan in NYC Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 JFC... We're actually here and it's actually happening... Let the playoffs begin!
Niners Fan in CT Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 Reminder: There is no home court advantage in these series. We've never seen a playoffs on a neutral site before. 1
Brian Fowler Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 It's kinda hilarious that we are set up to have an all L.A. WCF, but it's all happening in Orlando.
_MJ_ Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 (edited) What are you guys talking about? No home court advantage? Are YOUR Orlando Magic not in the playoff bubble? They earned this moment as the lowest 8 seed. The championship goes through Orlando. Bucks beware. Edited August 16, 2020 by _MJ_ 1

But, having said that, home ice matters more in playoff hockey than home court in basketball, and both Toronto and Edmonton went out in the qualifying round- so that's not a guarantee either.

In all seriousness now, I disagree. I think home court matters more in the NBA than the other four major US leagues. I think it's one of the reasons why the NBA playoffs generally have the least amount of playoff upsets out of the four leagues too. Edited August 17, 2020 by _MJ_
Jiji Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Home ice in hockey means you get last change, which means you get to line match your best against their worst, or your checking line against their best, etc. It's pretty huge. 1

Outside of my hockey knowledge, so I appreciate this fact. Edited August 17, 2020 by _MJ_
Niners Fan in CT Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 I had the opportunity to watch the end of the Jazz and Nuggets game, fantastic game.. the back and forth between Mitchell and Murray was awesome
Jiji Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 I sadly missed it but hopefully the Jazz can stay in it until Conley comes back.

Infinit Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 So glad we have the Raptors to cleanse us of the Maple Leafs stink lol.
Niners Fan in CT Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Celts looked okay.. Tatum and Brown were huge and Kemba picked his spots. Hayward is hurt again.
Brian Fowler Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Hey, you know, I think that Luka kid is gonna end up being a pretty good basketball player. 1
Infinit Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Mavs probably would've won if Porzingis doesn't get booted. They can totally pull an upset. How wild would it be if both LA teams don't make it out of the first round?
RIPPA Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Gordon Hayward is out a month (if the Celtics last that long)
S.K.o.S. Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Bucks adopting the Raptors' championship-winning playoff strategy of losing their first game to Orlando. 1
Jiji Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 I'm staring at the score and wondering when the numbers are going to switch.
Dolfan in NYC Posted August 18, 2020 Author Posted August 18, 2020 Ugh. This is going to be a frustrating as hell series...

Lawful Metal Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Rockets have still not lost a playoff game in Orlando. Playoff Eric Gordon is real.
Jiji Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 (edited) Dude, is Chuck drunk right now? Karl Kuzma, CP3, Warriors. "Portland gonna sweep the Lakers if they win the first game." Edited August 19, 2020 by Jiji

If you want a theme song, here you go (featuring Dan Majerle's excruciating whiteness) Oh, and this is the first time since May 2000(!) that the Heat won a playoff game without Dwayne Wade on the roster.
