Victator Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Dick Tracy called and said this was a great episode. 3 1
John from Cincinnati Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Anyone who thinks quality journalism about important issues is dead -- YOU DEAD WRONG. 5
JonnyLaw Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I believe there’s an ad for Jean Ralphio’s cologne on the back on a magazine Eleanor was reading at one point too. 1
John from Cincinnati Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I vaguely recall seeing something about that after the second season finale. Though I doubt they'd ever actually bring P&R characters into this. To start with, Kristen Bell would be far too recognizable to most Pawnee residents as Eagleton's Ingrid de Forest. Fun Easter eggs regardless. Edit: In looking up the name of Kristen Bell's P&R character, I came across this image. Enjoy. 1
Brian Fowler Posted October 12, 2018 Author Posted October 12, 2018 .... "Why Stone Cold Steve Austin fans hate The Rock fans." In the middle of a speech again breaking down concepts of societal morality. This is the best show ever. 3
Johnny Sorrow Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 That was the best episode yet, in my opinion. Maya Rudolph deserves every dopey award they give out between this and Big Mouth. 1
Brian Fowler Posted October 19, 2018 Author Posted October 19, 2018 God this show is so fucking perfect. This one reminded me so much of Angel. "If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do"
JonnyLaw Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Shirtless Chidi was a callback to season 1. https://io9.gizmodo.com/video/3586568?utm_medium=sharefromsite&utm_source=io9&jwsource=cl
Victator Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 So what would happen if the entire world became aware of the point system?
John from Cincinnati Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 You’d expect it would collapse. Though I’m curious if the Soul Squad continues to accumulate points based on their actions now having no corrupt motivation because of their assumption that the Good Place is closed to them. Moral dessert is off the menu. I wouldn’t be shocked if that’s taken into account. 1
Robert S Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 After a slow start this season sure has been picking up steam. The highlight was obviously Chidi's drunk lecture. Though you could have summed it up in a couple of words:
Brian Fowler Posted October 21, 2018 Author Posted October 21, 2018 I've never been less able to predict where a show is going. I mean, seriously, I have no idea.
Craig H Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 Neither do I. I watched this yesterday and the way Michael Schur has given this much mileage to a concept that might only be good for one season is amazing.
MonteCarl Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 One thing Schur (I think it was him) said on the Armchair Expert podcast is that they try to write every episode as if it's a season finale cliffhanger. I don't know how the writers keep up with that pace, but it's amazing to watch them dig themselves in to a hole and get themselves out of it in so many creative ways every season.
Guest Stefanie Without Stefanie Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 I keep finding myself muttering "you put the Peeps in the chili pot".
Piston Honda Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 Make this a shirt and you can have my money. 3
John from Cincinnati Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 How many wrestling references have we had so far in this show? Off the top of my head: Eleanor's frequently referenced fandom/attraction to Steve Austin Hogan's face on Mount Rushmore back in the Brainy Bunch episode Randy "Macho Man" Savage Non-International Airport Anything I'm missing?
Brian Fowler Posted October 27, 2018 Author Posted October 27, 2018 Oh my fuck that twist. I mean, I know, that line can apply to basically every episode but oh my fuck that twist. Also, screw a t-shirt, someone build that airport. 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 MGM Grand Elementary School~ Interesting episode, never thought Tahani would get any kind of redemption with her family.
