Mummy down to 18%

Well at least I won't have to mail Xanadu out

I ranked Mummy and Baywatch over Wonder Woman in Box Office. I have no problem taking Xanadu.

Baywatch is on pace more than the Aliens movie, I believe. Did not expect that outcome.

The Mummy reboot being terrible? Expected, but it sounds as if it's going get a worse grade than Transformer 6.

I did not fall out of the Top Ten, but this Standings Report doen't factor in the Mummy shake-up that will bounce me out of contention for the time being..

I was sorta hoping that The Mummy would be like All You Need Is Kill and be one of those Tom Cruise movies you enjoyed in spite of Tom Cruise being in it.

I was wrong.

Captain Underpants only has seventy reviews.  I call "fix."

Ugh I put the Mummy at 9 on my list, two spots ahead of Wonder Woman, well after dropping 20 spots in one week I can't drop that much further down the standings. If Captain Underpants can just not make anymore money that would help me greatly.

Was Baywatch expected to do better?  $46 million for 2 weeks in the summer looks kinda pedestrian to me.  Seems like they promoted it heavily.

The wife wants to go see it to ogle the Rock.  I have nothing against Alexandra Daddario in a swimsuit for two hours, but that makes it more of a "rent, don't buy" kinda thing.

I thought the Mummy would do fairly well.  This is why I don't enter the contest.

Well, The Mummy is doing awesome internationally. Matter of fact, it is Cruise's biggest opening in China. Here in the states, it's falling off the cliff at the box office. It was tracking at like $40-50m a week and a half ago and then dropped precipitously right before it hit theaters, becoming the lowest opening Mummy related film (including the first Scorpion King). With the reviews, there is no way it recovers to even have a half decent domestic take.

So does Universal downplay this one like they did Dracula Untold? Considering the budget of The Mummy '17 ($125m vs. "Untold" being made for $70m), this is off to a much worse start stateside with even worse critical reception. If Cruise's name is only worth $5-6m more than Luke Evans in the U.S. on opening weekend, the Dark Universe is DOA.

Great start. Wonder Woman's RT rating was my hardest call. I went by the trailers, posters and photos. All them delivered. Against it, the DCEU so far and number of comic book films released.

Yeah, I wasn't sure where to rank it either. I expected it to be good but I wasn't sure if studio interference would ruin that too, so I do wish I would have had it higher in RT; I figured it would make a lot of cash either way.

I left CU off more because of not having any idea where to place it RT wise

I had it in the BO but not the RT as I had no idea either if it'd be any good.

Mummy is down to 21%

I told you something could possibly be lower than Baywatch

The Mummy being it is not a good thing though

The trailers did not impress me but considering they wanted to start a big franchise and it starred someone who rarely is in bad movies, and both the BO and RT won't help me as I presumed it wouldn't be such a stinker.

Cars 3

14 reviews

64%

I was expecting it to be bad like Cars 2 was (40%), so I know my standing at number 2 won't last for that much longer.

So those of us who put All Eyez on Me high on their RT list should probably start getting nervous right? No reviews out and it's opening in less than 24 hours, that's usually a bad sign. ugh I needed that to be good.

There are reviews out - RT just hasn't compiled them yet.

But... yeah... you should be worried

‘All Eyez on Me’ review: Botched biopic an injustice to Tupac"

"All Eyez On Me review: Tupac Shakur biopic is an abysmal, sloppy, spirit-sapping marathon"

I wasn't sure why people were so quick to put All Eyez On Me high on their RT list.  Was it because Straight Outta Compton got good reviews?  I don't think any of the same people are involved with those two movies.

I avoided it just because Benny Boom isn't really a film director really.  They had already went through lawsuits and multiple director changes beforehand just to get this film out. The success of SoC probably made it easier for it be released. Besides that, no correlation other than black musical biopic.
