Grand Theft Auto V Talk.

It's been a while since we've played with J.T. I think he'd kill us.

I can see it now. He's coordinating a flanking ambush. Silent, efficient, deadly.

Here we come hee-hawing like a jackass, falling out of the sky with sirens blaring in a firetruck that got dropped from a cargobob.

We're the Fast and Furious franchise to his Zero Dark Thirty.

"No plan survives first contact with the enemy"

- paraphrased from Helmuth von Moltke the Elder

"I have never had a plan of operations."

- Napoleon

"Okay, once Rippa and I take out the guards......Goddammit, Dan, we are not doing Titan of a Job again...."

- JT

The cool thing about heists is how they make us focus on getting our shit right.  The stealth part of the 3rd heist had some serious coordination going on with Dan, melraz, stout and me - not exactly the most focused bunch.

I forget which mission we were doing, but when I started hatching the plan, Dan wandered off and began stabbing pedestrians in the kidneys and then managed to get himself a three star wanted level when he graduated to cop killing..

I pray for the day when you can buy Ritalin over the counter.

Hey when did this become a trial against me and my love of stabbing NPC's? Also, I graduated from stabbing kidneys to smacking them upside the head with a crowbar.

Also, I'm actually pretty good at stealth games, and I am totally down for coordinated attacks when I feel the threat or payoff is worth it.

Damn - I'm still out of likes from yesterday.

Stout, Mel, and Robert helped me finally get through Humane Labs. We all stood around the attack chopper, more or less silently begging someone else to fly it. Since I hadn't done the mission yet, I did it. It actually went better than I expected thanks to Stout's shooting, despite the fact that I let us get hit with two rockets.

After Dan got on, we dropped heists to do some of those Hasta La Vista missions. Holy shit if those aren't hilarious with crew members. When you're on the bike, it's hands-sweating, heart-pumping action the whole time. I think I had seven heart attacks before we were done.

JT and I saw you guys on but since you were all in a heist - we went to Destiny.

By the time we were done - I was irritated with cheaters and felt it was best to go to bed

It didn't take long to finish the heist. That bike vs. truck thing is interesting, for sure. We did one where we're pretty much trapped on a bridge with nowhere to go. I'm shocked the bikes actually won that one a couple of times.

We then hit Freemode - I was kinda itchin' to blow some fools up, but after a couple of hours, that kinda faded out. We kept warring with these two dudes, including a long beach sequence, and I got tired of messing with them. One guy came along who was like a ninja - I don't think I saw him once, but he killed me twice. He was handling all of us with no problem when he went to go get a tank. I'm like "huh?" He probably stood less of a chance in the tank.

Stupid night. Oh well.

I don't know when they changed this, but last night I was in the backseat of a Buzzard, and as I scrolled through my Weapons, it went Advanced Rifle - Combat MG - Heavy Sniper - Marksman Rifle - RPG - Flare Gun - Pistol. And it always used to go straight to Pistol after Combat MG. Wardy made me shoot an RPG at nothing to prove I wasn't lying.

Also, we were doing Extradition and the Lazer's weren't at Sandy Shores airfield at the start any more.

I could not figure out how that guy could see us, when we could not see him.  He was no problem if you could get in close, but I've never seen anybody snipe like that.  There were several times where I knew exactly where he was but could not see him.  I'd be watching for him to pop up when I'd get sniped without him ever showing up on my screen.  Once I could see his muzzle flashes but not him.  I figured I would wait for him to shoot again and try to shoot the flash but I got sniped before I could do anything.  He wasn't even in cover, so I have no clue how that happened.  I got the first tank with an allah akbar, but I had no interest in going after #2.  Think he ended up one kill on me, but it was him and two muppets against 4 of us.

Nobody else was much count.  There was one guy that kept flashing/bouncing all over the map, but it didn't do him much good.  Blew up my first Insurgent last night.  Saw him run over RUkered, and figured he would go after me, so I put 5 sticky bombs in the middle of the street and stood in amongst em.  The fool got a surprise when he tried to run me over.  The stupid thing is that if you blow up one of those things you get charged for it, and get bad sport points.  That's ridiculous.  What are we supposed to do, let some asshole kill us just because he bought the new, shiny vehicle.  Piss on that.  I didn't notice if I got bad sport points for the tank.

Charged to the tune of almost $17,000.

Hang on -- it's a Pegasus vehicle, right? Well, then how did one of the dynamic duo have his chromed? I gotta check into that.

I'm just shocked there's not 15 dudes running around in those Hydras.

Those two dudes playing together who kept going in the police station (something I had no idea you could do until last night, even after 5 years of playing the game) were competent enough, but it just got boring scrapping with them. Add in Ninja Tank Boy and it was time to call Freemode a night.

Problem is, once we started doing missions, it's not hard to notice that heists have made missions look even more ho-hum than they were before the heists. And I'm not really sold on that new versus mode being anything decent - that one where it's a buncha guys with shotguns against the one guy with all sorts of weapons is pretty boring, frankly, and the bike-vs.-truck thing is cute, at best. Oh well.

I looked it up.  Apparently the turret mounted version is a Pegasus vehicle, but the unarmed version goes in your garage, and counts like any POV.

I've seen two Hydras in freemode so far.  Both were blown up in the streets.

Thinking about it, I got my first ever kill on a jet with the heat seeker last night.  Of course, it was that unarmed trainer jet, and the guy had just landed it near the mall, but a kill is a kill.  I blew up RUkered with the same weapon 10 seconds later because I'm an idiot.

Just started playing online couple days ago. I have to admit this shit is pretty fun. I have a issue though. It's the Simeon mission where he wants you to get a couple cars by hacking a keypad. So how do I hack the keypad? When I press the button to start the hack, it doesn't and my character just walks the other way. What do I need? Or is this a ps3 glitch?

That mission's been glitched since the last update. It used to work before that.

Hey, somebody hop on here and help dan, mel and myself with the second heist

Aww... now I feel even more guilty

Though my system already really really hated me for trying to play and download Bioshock Infinite at the same time

I was on with Mike last night, and he'd not played in Months, first time since the update. He had Rob a Store, Do a Team Deathmatch, Get 5 Player Kills. I've never had anything that fun. Plus the few times I've tried to do them, they haven't worked. No credit for a Stunt Jump, no credit for a ten second wheelie, Golf froze on the first hole and it didn't give me credit for doing that much, and stealing & delivering Simeon cars isn't really safe in freemode any more.

Plus, $4.3 Million. Don't really need the $25,000.

Did the Pacific Standard and Humane Labs heists last night with Wardy and a couple others. Robbing the bank itself wasn't a big problem, it was getting away from all the cops on bikes that proved difficult. Besides the assorted crashes and smashes, possibly the worst fail was when three of us had made the jump and had parachuted down to the boat, but the fourth didn't know how he was supposed to jump, GOT OFF HIS BIKE and tried to jump off the cliff, and died doing so.

On Humane Labs, some of the more entertaining fails included someone dying while trying to land his Lazer at Sandy Shores Airport, (when you didn't need to do anything but land the Hydra there), then on the heist itself, driving across Los Santos just for Wardy to land on the roof next to the helicopter. Me: "Watch out for the rotor....yes, THAT rotor."

The worst though was when we'd done the heist, all that was left was to land the helicopter, I was in the process of setting it down, and I get dropped from the heist and back into single-player. It failed for everyone because "pilot left".

So, I trigger the Prison Break heist beginning, get four people in the room, start to download the mission, then it glitches out and says I don't have enough guys. Drops me back in Freemode, but my Apartment is Green, so I have the heist active anyway, right? Wrong. Nothing on the planning board, not press > to trigger the heist in my planning room, nothing. Call Lester to try and cancel it, so I can trigger it again. He says yes. And my apartment stays green, and I still have replay hesit greyed out and cancel heist as an option.

I may be terminally fucked here.

Last night was like the 10 year reunion of the Titans/Late Night Crew.  Mel, Mis, Dan, Burke, and I  chasing each other for sport, Dan getting randomly run over by NPC's and later us.

Eventually things straightened out and we did some nasty things to Los Santos.

Then we all went to sleep before 12, because we're fucking old.

It was great to have a big group again. As I have several times before, I took my router messing up as a sign from the universe that I needed to take my ass to bed.

I learned the hard way that me on a motorcycle with a pump shotgun is an absolute shit show. I think I managed one kill out of like 3,743 deaths.

Also, Nate, sorry about cursing you out last night.  I needed that after you'd killed me about 13 times in a row. Have this as my peace offering:

But seriously though, fuck the Avalanche.

Well I need to apologize to Melraz too since I am pretty sure I cost him money since I think he is going to buy Mania after our conversation the other night
