Cristobal
Two prospects with decent upside is probably as good as we were likely to do for a 2-month rental.
RIPPA
The Pirates and Brewers have agreed to a trade that will send third baseman Aramis Ramirez to Pittsburgh, Craig Calcaterra of NBC Sports first reported (via Twitter). The teams have since announced the trade, and it will be minor league righty Yhonathan Barrios and cash considerations heading to Milwaukee in exchange for Ramirez. Joe Lucia
Probably my favorite trade that could have happened. YOU CAN GO HOME AGAIN
Infinit
The Pirates traded away Aramis Ramirez 12 years ago, today. Crazy.
The Man Known as Dan
While I am not happy the Pirates are getting stronger, I'm incredibly happy he's on a contending team to end his career. Best player for the Cubs in the 00's
Ryan
Stronger...maybe recently. He was pretty damn bad his first two months and his defense is just whatever, plus he's retiring, so it's just a temporary thing. I don't know much about the guy the Brewers are getting, but he doesn't seem like much.
Joe Lucia
The return is a live-armed pitcher that's a converted infielder. Hardly some sort of stud in the making, but a lottery ticket. For a guy like Ramirez, I think that's appropriate. Side note - that Ramirez contract turned out pretty well (all things considered), considering how much it got slammed at the time
Craig H
Hell of a baseball player and a tough SOB. Dude played for a bulk of a season with his shoulder all fucked up.
BillThompson
Have nothing but respect for ARam. He's been great everywhere he's gone, and was easily the best Cubs player during his tenure here, solidifying a position that always gave us trouble. Not HoF worthy, but definitely a Hall of Pretty Damn Great guy.

RIPPA
I am amused that we are three for three on teams trading within their division
Joe Lucia
The Cishek deal wasn't interdivisional, but it could be argued the Marlins aren't really a pro franchise. (also, the Conor Gillaspie sale to the Angels, but that only got an eyeroll from me)

RIPPA
I forgot the Cishek deal I was thinking Stros/As, Cubs/Pirates and now Mets/Braves
Joe Lucia
Why in god's name would any team want Steve Cishek? Because he's been good since his minor league demotion. Total DFA bait after the season though - making $6.65 with two years of arb left. No thanks.
